The do send you a lot of emails, a lot!

AgCl its so safe you can't even post certain things (like numbers)on the comments. Even your choice for usernames is limited. They've already got it premade and you have no other choice than to choose 1 among i think 3 of them.

Julia Pottermore is about as safe as any site can get. That doesn't mean throw caution to the wind (there's no such thing as 100% safe on the internet), but it's a smaller risk than Goodreads or Facebook. I don't think other members can email you at all, so your inbox is pretty safe. I hardly ever get emails from Pottermore (if you do, change your settings).

It's actually kinda hard to communicate with other members - for example, I don't think you can send private messages, only talk to others in the public forums. I think that is to prevent kids from chatting privately with pedophiles, so that's a good thing. So, yes, very safe.

Okay well... It depends on what you mean by 'Safe' Bad words? Inappropriate things??

I know this is kind of unrelated but is there any way to change your settings on Goodreads because I must get 900+ notification emails from them a month, is there any way to change your inbox settings like you said you could do with pottermore?

Raptori @Sammy: you can control your user email settings here:

https://www.goodreads.com/user/edit

Just click the "emails" tab (third one along) and take a look through all the settings there. If you don't want to receive any emails at all, there's even an "unsubscribe from all emails" link at the bottom of that page. :)
