Leiah Cooper (leiahingolden) | 71 comments Gack. Now I am banging my head trying to remember a series I read that I really loved - until the last book where she went back to our world and became a waitress after being a profiler for the FBI.... It was SOOO good up to the last book!

The setup as I remember it: She is snatched to another world while on a murder case and works there, in a parallel city on a parallel world, as a profiler. This world doesn't have "insanity" but now there is a serial killer(I am almost certain it is a serial killer) there, and she is brought over to track him/her/it down. She works for a police group on that world, which is similar to our own but there are weres, vamps and I believe golems (in fact, I think her partner is a golem?)

She likes her boss, but they don't get together till the last couple pages of the next to last book, so it is UF not PNR.

The last book blew it out of the water for me, I tossed it and was really disappointed with how the series ended. She apparently goes back to her world and winds up a waitress with no memory of who she was either on our world or the other. I tried reading it but didn't get past a few pages before I put it down in disgust. But the others were good! I think there were 4 in total....?

Does that sound familiar to anyone?? Now that it is stuck in my head I want to read the first ones again, because I did enjoy those, but I must have blocked the title and author out of my head and I have, literally, THOUSANDS of books in my Amazon and Audible files! ;-)

Five good books and one real stinker. I will read the first ones, and make up an ending in my own mind. ;-)
