Daphne (daphnesm) | 55 comments Anyone else super bothered that they changed the Audible link on books on Goodreads to link to Amazon instead? There is already a button for Amazon link if you want that. I like being able to link strait to the Audible page for books I'm interested in from GR.

Any idea why this change was made?

Chrissie | 1529 comments Daphne, I do not like the change at all! Now I have begun avoiding this completely by going directly to Audible via another tab, but it takes much longer. Very annoying. It is harder, more button taps, to get to where you want to go. And they already have a Amazon link, so why would we want two? You say this too. Also listening to the sample works better at Audible, at least for me. And I cannot get to my wishlist as quickly. I am not happy with the new change. We ought to be able to choose.

Greg (wwwgoodreadscomgregs) There should be a way that they provide a link to both sites and to allow those of us in Goodreads to choose which we want to use.

Daphne (daphnesm) | 55 comments I just don't get why they would send us to amazon know through the audible link. It doesn't make ANY sense considering that there is already a BIG button that says AMAZON already. I know they are a connected company, but right now Amazon site is not the ideal way for anyone to shop for audiobooks.

Don't give me a link that says Audible, and then send me somewhere else please.

I'm glad I'm not the only one to find this ninja change annoying.

Jeanie | 4024 comments I hope it's just a glitch, otherwise it's merely nonsense... what would be the point?

Ann (annrumsey) | 163 comments If you edit your Goodreads profile on the links tab you can add a new link that (as it previously worked) actually opens a title search on audible.com instead of Amazon.
I had to update my public library link to their new catalog as the default link goes to an out of date version so decided to try with the audible link too. It works!
You go to audible, perform a search, copy the URL and then paste it into the edit link area of the create a new link dialog box and then replace the actual title you searched for with #TITLE# for a generic search link - move it up the list and name it new and you are back to the original search results!

Chrissie | 1529 comments Ann, I have done has you said, but I do not see "edit links" anywhere. I have searched at Audible, then gone to the "book link" tab at "my account".

Should I first remove the old Audible, and "add a new link"? I don't see anywhere the possibility of editing the Audible link that already exists which now goes to Amazon?

Thank you for your help.

Ann (annrumsey) | 163 comments Chrissie: Yes I agree, there is no 'edit links' option that I can see either. I named a new link "Audible new" and then moved it up on my list and moved the old one down (thinking they might fix it someday)
I edited my explanation above for clarity - thanks!!
