Kimberly Moses Since Sue Grafton is coming out with the X in her alpha series this August, I decided to re-read the entire series. For some reason this summer, I am in a bit of drolldum, so I've taken to re-reading Fannie Flagg books too...always a great pick me up.

sublimosa I have plans to eventually reread all of SG's books, but not just yet.
I probably most often reread humorous romances and feel good novels . I've reread Jane Eyre numerous times and got more out of it in the rereading. I've reread many by Dick Francis and plan to reread (from the beginning) all of the Prey series by John Sandford as well as his Virgil Flowers series, also Robert Crais's Elvis Cole. I think it will be interesting to watch the character development with foresight and also be surprised at the things missed and forgotten. I enjoy Richard Russo's writing and reread Bridge of Sighs when some people I knew were reading it for the first time. It was surprising to me how much I had missed and how a second reading gave me more insight and empathy into some of the characters. Oh, I want to reread the first three of Tana French's books, In the Woods, The Likeness, and Faithful Place. I suppose I should give her Broken Harbor another chance as I absolutely despised it and she is such a fabulous writer. Oh, want to reread Life After Life again as well (Kate Atkinson) as it was so complex and I have the follow up waiting. Generally, though, I reread for enjoyment and comfort rather than for clairfication and edification.

Kimberly Moses wow, lot of great books, I know of the Dick Francis racing series, never could get into them...I had discovered Stephen Dobyns's racing series set in Saratoga Springs that I just loved, although he did no where near what Dick Francis did...thanks for the great authors...

Carrie Allen I would actually NOT re-read any of the Sue Grafton novels. They are fine for one time but I just don't think they are entertaining enough to read a second time.

I would definitely re-read the Stephanie Plum series. They are SO funny and keep me laughing as I picture the scenes unfolding in my head.

Domino C is for Corpse.

I always wish for a different ending/outcome with this one.

Always find something new in it.

Finish the book with a feeling of grief that stays with me.

So much potential.

Wasted.

And the grieving Mother.

*reaches for a tissue*

There's something in my eye

That one is my favorite.

TX_Gal I'm also rereading the Sue Grafton books while waiting for the last one to come out. I'm up to H now. Other books I reread are JD Robb's Eve Dallas series and Kim Harrison's Rachel Morgan series.

Kimberly Moses thanks for participating in this thread, I love hearing aobut different books...

message 9: by Sue (new) - rated it 4 stars

Sue I reread Pride & Prejudice regularly, it's the best book I've ever read. I also have all of Dick and Felix Francis' books. For racing fans, also see William Murray and John Francome. Currently I'm rereading all the Al Rennie "Clearwater" mysteries in anticipation of the next release. Although not about racing, elements of his work remind me of Dick Francis. Face it, I rarely meet a book I don't love!

Marilyn I re-read anything by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Just can't get enough of him, he was so talented.
