What is a series?

Another reason that would make a bad series is that a series designation adds additional text to the title, and these titles are already very long, making an extremely long and cumbersome title when viewed on the book page.
I don't think I've ever seen a set of diaries and letters made into a series.

Personally, I find the series page useful even if the suggested reading order of the books is obvious without it. It's just nice to have everything in one place, especially if an author has published a lot of books.

Yes, and also because it's possible to stumble across a title without being aware there are other such titles. The series on the book page makes it obvious.

I've started reading Bring Me a Unicorn: Diaries and Letters of Anne Morrow Lindbergh, 1922-1928. This non-fiction book is the first of five books by Anne Morrow Lindbergh, all collections of diaries and letters. Each book covers a certain number of years in her life. To me, this is obviously a series, including similar subtitles, but it's not in GR that way. So I don't know if it really should be or not.
Thus I bring it to the experts. :)
Thanks.
