Roberto | 4 comments Hello fellow readers
I am desperately seeking your help to find the title of a novel that was part of the infamous Reader´s Digest Condensed Books list back in the early 1990s (or late 1980s). I cannot remember very well the plot but I know that it dealt with a silk factory ( at one point there is a fire on it), and a character named Hermione ( I am 99% sure of this but it could be Yvonne). I think it was a sort of a family saga but for the life of me , I cannot remember its title. I remember enjoying reading it back then ( I was 13/14 years old) and would like to find it again to see if it aged well on me.
I tried to google it but nothing was found so I would appreciate if anyone, remembering it, could help me.
Thank you in advance

Roberto--Reader's Digest has a website where it lists all of the books with the titles, broken down by year. Unfortunately they don't tell anything about the plots.

Here is a list from Wiki too. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reader&#...

edit**I also moved this down to Unsolved for you.

Tab (tabbrown) | 5084 comments Here's a few books from the list Ann posted that deal with silk.
(I included stories printed in the 80s Reader's Digest book)
Tree of gold
Banners of Silk

I'm not sure if there is a Hermione or Yvonne in the books, however.

And, that wiki page is a great resource, Ann.

Roberto | 4 comments Your help is much appreciated but, as you can imagine, I already came across that list from Wikipedia. Obviously, those titles you, Tab, provided caught my eye but they didn´t seem to match my memory of that book. Nonetheless, I will try to get more information. I remember the name Hermione but probably it was a minor character and not the protaonist.
Besides, I already was curious about Rosalind Laker´s books - Her " Dance with Kings" has great reviews - so probably I will try one of these. If they are not the book I have so fond memories, at least I may find another favorite author.
Thank you for help and if anyone find another clue, please keep me posted.
