. So far, the book has mainly just given the history and progressive development of the fast food industry, tying in marketing to production. It has given some very scary statistics and depressing secrets of the industry in the first few chapters.

I am reading The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.
I am reading Crossed by Ally Condie which is part of a three book series. Last semester I read Matched which was the first book. It is about a perfect society (a utopia), where everything is controlled from what you eat, to who you marry, to when you die. The main character Cassia, was matched (going to marry) with two guys both that she knew personally which is rare. One is her best friend Xander and one is an aberration (a person intelligible to be matched), Ky. She falls in love with Ky and he gets shipped to an outer Providence to fight in a rumored war. Cassia's family has also been relocated. In Crossed she is on the hunt to find Ky, but she doesn't know how, or when she will find him.
This book is great and helps you eat healthy
I've seen the movie of Streetcar Named Desire a while ago, and am really excited to be reading the book! So far the characters Stella, Blanche, Stanley, and Eunice have been introduced. Blanche is the emotionally unstable (I would say she's pretty crazy) of Stella Kowalski, who is visiting her sister in New Orleans. Blanche already seems pretty freaked out at Stella's apartment living conditions compared to their old life of luxury (one Blanche seems very attached to) back at their old plantation in Mississippi.

Lol. So far it is talking about how small is small and how fast is fast. It has set a ratio between the smallest measurement probed in an experiment, .0000000000000000001 meters or 10^-18meters, and the largest which would be the known size of the universe which is 10000000000000000000000000 meters or 10^26 meters. This makes a ratio of 10^44 meters which is also the ratio for the shortest time and the longest time interestingly enough
I am reading the Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It is not written like a typical book. The chapters are fairly short, and in-between paragraphs, there will be subtitles with short comments from the narrator under them. Also, the narrator is unknown to the reader. The main character is a young girl living with her adoptive parents in Germany under Hitler's reign. She finds a couple of books and takes them back to her house and hides them. I think this book will make a focus on morals and the difference between right a wrong. I think the question that will be asked in this book is what if what everyone says to be right actually stands in front of good morals. I think the book will also focus on the breaking away from the "adults" who I think will be portrayed as ignorant and menacing.
I am reading have finished the book Fault in Our Stars. I loved reading this book despite how sad the book ended up being. I would recommend this book to anymore but i warn them that the book will make you bawl but it will make you laugh at the most random times.

I'll See You Again by Jackie Hance. This book is so sad and so inspirational. Jackie and Warren Hance, parents of 3 girls, are just a normal family in New York. They are always busy with camp, sports, and plays, and the girls bring life and laughter into the family. Jackie and Warren are happily married and love each other very much. Warren's sister, Diane, is also a wife and mother. She is always trusted and just a normal, loving, sister-in-law to Jackie. Jackie never thought twice about Diane. She never really drank, and always made good, normal mothering judgement. She would go on fun little vacations with her kids and Jackie's three daughters all the time. This trip was different, though. Diane had planned to take a fun little camping trip one weekend. Jackie's three daughters were so excited and nobody thought twice about it because it was so normal.
I am reading The Longing by Karen Kingsbury. This book begins with a woman named Bailey Flanigan who has a boyfriend named Brandon. She is at home for the holidays and runs into her ex-boyfriend Cody. She is struggling with who she loves. She has a talk with Cody and tells him she loves Brandon instead. This situation is a challenging one that is very relatable. Karen Kingsbury does an amazing job of describing the characters and the situations in the book. She is an amazing writer and this book looks very interesting and exciting.
In The Longing, Cody's girlfriend Cheyenne is struggling with her health. She was in a very bad accident that caused lots of problems. However, she gets the news that she has cancer. She is not getting any better. Cody is by her side the whole time; however, his mind is on Bailey. He still is in love with Bailey. Bailey is in New York with Brandon. They are falling more in love and are having a great time there. This situation is so sad for Cody and Bailey has no idea. This book is so dramatic and it makes me want to keep reading. I really am wondering what happens between Cody and Bailey. I am wondering if they get back together or stay apart. I can not wait to see what happens!
In The Longing, Cheyenne is getting worse and worse. It is Christmas time now and Brandon is thinking about proposing to Bailey. He decides on Christmas night that he is going to propose and he makes a drastic move and goes to a ring store really late at night. He realizes that it in God's timing it will happen. The owner of the ring store comes out and they have a discussion about marriage and faith. Brandon leaves feeling very sure about Bailey. He knows he loves her and the time will come to propose. Cody is still with Cheyenne and she is very close to death. Cody feels so alone and is very depressed. I love this book because it ties in faith and it ties in life lessons. Karen Kingsbury is such a great writer and not only am i loving the plot of this book, the book is teaching me alot about my faith.
In the book, The Fault in Our Stars, there is major character development through the main character Hazel. She is transformed from a "submissive to cancer" girl whose days consisted of watching back to back episodes of America's Next Top Model and conversing only with her parents, to a normal teenager, in love, and ready to explore the world. The majority of this change is because of her relationship with Augustus Waters. He is responsible for this extreme change in her outlook on life and desire to beat the side effects of cancer. Through the book the reader sees the ways in which he is able to transform her. Has anyone else been able to see a change in a main character or extreme character development in their book?
In my book the author has introduced all kinds of new particles such as electrons, positrons, leptons, muons, pions, and nutrinos. The things that separate the particles are mass, spin, charge, antiparticle(which is the particle that cancels or destroys that particle), typical decay, and mean life(which is quite short usually around 10^-13 seconds).
I am reading East of Eden by Steinbeck. My mind is blown every time I read it because of just how good it is. I'm so intrigued by the way he details his characters and develops them, all the while knitting all of the characters together. I still have some ways to go because it is a long book, but I'm so excited to see the characters and the story unravel.
One important concept is the conservation of energy. Also the conservation of mass(which is miraculously broken all the time because subatomic particles are constantly popping in and out of existence) and the conservation of charge. All of these state that they can neither be created nor destroyed(semi-excluding mass). This means that for every interaction of a particle that changes it into a new particle or particles there is always the same amount of charge, energy, and sometimes mass(usually it will have decayed into nothing) that is transferred somewhere.
One thing that many people do not realize is that Einstein's famous equation E=m*c^2 directly relates mass to energy. In fact one way to look at it is as a ratio, meaning that for however much mass is present there is also that amount multiplied by the square of the speed of light which is how much energy that is contained in the mass(this is how they came up with the hydrogen and atom bomb). When the energy is released from the mass you end up with places like Hiroshima.
I am reading Love Does by Bob Goff. Bob Goff takes the reader through many different stories starting from when he was just a teenager, all the way to a grown man. The stories he shares are eye opening stories that dramtically changed his faith and the way he lives life. From the readers standpoint, I have been hooked from the start. Each of his stories are intriguing and his messages behind them are simple and extremely relatable.
The speed of light is "natures speed limit." The reason is because of Einsteins equation E=(m*c^2)/(1-velocity/speed of light)^1/2. The closer a mass gets to the speed of light the more energy is needed to speed it up. According to E=m*c^2 since c^2 is constant the only thing that can increase the energy(which will increase the velocity) is to increase the mass. The more mass there is the more energy is needed to speed the object up so infinite mass and energy is needed to get to the speed of light(which will always be the same ratio of (E/m)^1/2 and the only way it is achieved is if the mass is zero).
Bob Goff starts his novel with a story from high school. As a freshmen, Bob is not very good at school, doesnt have many friends, and is still trying to find himself as a person. He decides he wants to do something different- he wants to take a camping trip out west. After he packs his things, he decides to go say goodbye to Randy. Randy is a guy with young life that had met Bob at school. Bob decides to go say goodbye to Randy before he leaves. He tells Randy of his plan expecting for the "that's not a good idea" comment just like most adults would say, but he got the opposite response. He encouraged Randy and Bob actually invited him to go with him. The two head west. Everything goes the wrong direction for Bob. He cant find a job and does not have much money. Bob continues to fail during his vacation just on his dailey duties and Randys input continues to shock Bob. "I am with you. Whatever you decide to do, I am right here with you." After climbing a few more rocks and sharing a meal, Bob decides to head back home. Bob and randy reach Randy's house first. As they both gave their last goodbyes, Bob realized something that made him "feel sick and choked up and sick in an instant." Bob thought Randy lived with his girlfriend before they departed for the trip, but he quickly realized that that had just gotten married a couple days before they went on their trip. Randy gave up his precious time with his wife to spend with him. Bob connects this story with they way Jesus wants a friendship with us. It is way more about knowing the right answers, but it is about being present, says Bob. Bob realizes that just like Randy, God wants to be present and alive in life. He wants us to feel the beauty of that presence with him.
Bob Says, "I've realized that I used to be afraid of failing at the things that really mattered to me, but now I'm more afraid of succeeding at things that don't matter." This is a strong quote by Bob. It really stuck out to me and put things into a new/different perspective. Suceeding at the things that don't matter seem to be more of a trap. One can get so wrapped up in it and lose the understanding of what matters.
Bob talks about love and relating it back to God's love for us. when you are trying to get something you love, "you'll do anything it takes to get it, even it it take losing everything." This point sparks out more than others. It is crazy to think about God loving us like this. When you realize how intense his love is for us, it makes you want to experience him even more.
As previously talked about, humans will do anything to get what they love and desire after, which is a little scary. In The Book Thief, the main characters, Liesel, steals books because she loves reading them with her dad, and when she reads them she doesn't feel dumb around the other kids. She breaks what she knows is wrong to get something as simple as a book. The question is if Liesel stealing the books is wrong or not, because they bring good things in her life. The Bible says that God will use sin to his advantage, like in the story of Rahab and the scarlet cord. So, the stealing is not morally right, but can be used to the advantage of good.
Bob later explains him losing s job he loves. It was a job he had worked really hard for, and he got fired from it. It went on to explain how God allows us to fail because he has bigger things in store for us. This stuck out to me- it puts failure into a different perspective. More like an opportunity that is opening up for us instead of closing for us.

by Francine Rivers. Francine Rivers was raised in a religious home, but she didn't encounter Christ until later in life. When she became a believer she wrote the book Redeeming Love as her statement of faith. This book is a retelling of the biblical story of Gomer and Hosea. Redeeming Love is known as a classic work of Christian fiction. Redeeming is a powerful story so far and I haven't even read that far. There is a prostitute named Angel and she thinks that her life is worthless and she doesn't mean anything to the world and she doesn't know why she is still alive. Angel has learned to have no feelings or show no emotion whatsoever because as a prostitute she gives the men what they want and they are pleased. Then there is a man named Michael also known as "Hosea" he sees something in Angel that no one else can see. He is also looking for a wife and The Lord is telling him to pursue her even though Angel could care less about him because she sees him as another man wanting to have sex with her, but thats not the case. When Angel gets raped by a man who is suppose to be in charge of here Michael comes in and takes her away and marries her and nurses her back to health at his cabin that is away from everything. Angel is confused why he took her in to help her and asks herself all the time "what does he want from me?" Michael teaches her who to be a wife and how to cook and do chores around the house. As Angel still shows no emotion and doesn't express what she is feeling or thinking Michael repeatedly reminds her of how much he loves her. But all Angel goes to is sex because she thinks that fixes everything or satisfies peoples need but not Michaels, she can't realize that he is a different man and he will respect her and treat her like a woman. As Angel tempts Michael many times to have sex with her Michael will ask for help from The Lord to give him strength and he does. Michael also asks for patience because he tries so hard to know what Angel is thinking or feeling and it makes him frustrated and irritated. The part where I stopped reading is where Angel wants to leave and go back to prostitution, but she said that like a couple weeks ago and she is still at the cabin with Michael so something is holding her back and thats she is feeling possibly a love for him, but in the book she has the devil on one shoulder telling her to "flee" from him and telling her to go back to Pair-a-Dice where she was a prostitute. On the other hand, she also has God on her other shoulder telling her to "stay beloved." Also Michael full heartedly loves her and tries to keep her to stay. so which one is she is going to chose? I think she will listen to the devil and flee back to Pair-a-Dice to prostitution again. The reason why I think this is because I feel like she has to go back to her original life to show her, yes life will be terrible and miserable with no feelings to express and you will be empty and worthless and she will keep thinking why am I living. But when she realizes that she will think how she can turn her worthless life into a meaningful life filled with unconditional love form Michael and more importantly when Michael will probably teach her about The Lord.
Jackie received a phone call from her eldest daughter on aunt Diane's phone saying that aunt Diane was acting strange and didn't seem normal. Jackie started to worry and called Warren and he tried to figure everything out. He told his sister to stop at a truck stop and that he would meet her there. Minutes later, Warren calls Jackie and says that Diane and the girls got in a car wreck. All three of their daughters died in the car. Jackie didn't know how to react except run down their street, screaming and whaling.
Everything happened so fast for her, she didn't even have time to think. All she wanted was one more time with her girls. She would do anything just to have one more conversation with them. A few days later, many if their friends were staying Jackie and Warren because of the trauma. Jackie had experienced so much trauma that her brain mentally blocked out what happened. Every time she would wake up from a nap or wake up in the morning, her brain would reset and think "oh gosh! The girls are coming home today! I have to go make their lunches for when they get home!" Jackie's fiends would tell her over and over that the girls died and they won't be coming back. She would deny it because she simply didn't remember it.
Jackie was overflowing with questions for Diane, but because Diane passed away also, she may never know. Diane was on of the nicest, most normal people in the world. She had kids of her own, so she wasn't completely clueless. Jackie and Warren received reports from the police and autopsy reports, hoping they could answer their questions. The police report shows that Diane was driving in the wrong side of the interstate for almost 2 miles. Cars were honking and swerving, but she seemed completely awake and conscious of what was happening. When Jackie and Warren read the autopsy reports, it showed that Diane was high on marijuana and over two times the legal alcohol limit. Jackie was beyond shocked. She was speechless.

The first book is about her finding her voice, and maturing. This book is about her journey to find Ky, using her independence that her family has taught her. Cassia is a strong girl, and a role model for everyone.
In "I'll See You Again" Jackie and Warren Hance experience the worst thing any parent could go through. All three of their children died... At the same time. Some parents in the world have to experience maybe one of their children passing away. This couple in New York had to live through all 3 of their daughters dying. The initial cause was the aunt Diane. The amount of pain Jackie, the mom, felt is so big, I can't even fathom it. There was one point in her recovery when every time she would wake up from sleeping or a nap, her brain would reset to that Sunday when the accident happened. She would literally forget the tragic accident and start making lunches for the girls, thinking that they will be home soon. That part in the book was difficult to read because I can't even imagine what that felt like. Her friends would have to say "Jackie! Jackie! They girls are dead. They aren't coming home, remember?" That would be incredibly hard to say.
Jackie's pain that she felt daily was getting so depressing and excruciating that she just decided not to leave the house because she didn't like the reminder of the pain every time she left and came back. She said she would rather be numb. Jackie and Warren had a great group of friends. Different couples would take Jackie and Warren on multiple vacations. Jackie and Warren were almost like completely different people when they were able to travel and go away from their town and house. Every time they came home and had to get back to reality, Jackie would get angry and scream a lot. She didn't know what to do with her anger. She blamed Warren for the accident a lot because it was his sister that caused everything. She felt like she had no one else to blame.
I finished my book, The Longing, by Karen Kingsbury. In the ending of the book, Cheyenne dies and Cody is devested. He and Bailey talk and finally end their relationship, even though they still care about each other. Bailey moves to the same town as Brandon and they are very happy together. They start to discuss marriage but decide to settle down and wait. This book was so amazing and it had lots of life lessons that taught me about relationships. I love Karen Kingsbury's books because the stories are relatable and inspiring. This book was for sure one of my favorites and I cant wait to read another one of her books.
I am still reading the Book Thief, and the more I read the more I know why the title is what it is. Throughout the book, the main character is sometimes referred as her name and sometimes she is referred to the book thief. The more that I read along, the more the narrator calls her book thief, and even other characters start referring to her as book thief. She becomes proud of this name and even sees stealing the books as "earning" them. I think this is foreshadowing that she will become defined as the Book Thief, and not as herself. I think she is going to get caught in a web of the books she has stolen.
The new book I have started is called A Time to Dance, this is a book by Karen Kingsbury. The book starts off at a football championship. Abby, the mother, is cheering on her son and her husband, the head coach. The moment is perfect and they win the game. However, while in the great moment a woman named Charlene goes and hugs Abby's husband, John. Abby and John are known as the religious couple with a great marriage; however, everything is going wrong and they are about to get a divorce. While this is going on, their daughter, Nicole is happily dating a man named Matt. Matt asks her to marry him. They tell the family the news the same day as the parents plan to tell the kids about the divorce. The parents are getting a divorce because their marriage has grown apart and also Abby is accusing John of having an affair with Charlene. John and Charlene are however always with each other and it seems like an affair. While the parents both are constantly angry at each other there is a part of them that still love each other. In my opinion, I think that they are going to find their way back to each other. I cant wait to see what happens in this book, the beginning has been full of drama and excitement.
Jackie struggled with suicidal thoughts for a long time. She thought that if she either killed herself or had her husband kill her, then she would be able to go to heaven and be with her girls. All she wanted was to see her girls again. She wasn't sure if she would be able to go to heaven if she killed herself, so she asked Warren to kill her multiple times! Of course he would never do that, though. Fighting was their second language at this poont. Jackie would take little shopping sprees with her friends occasionally and Warren only complained at how much she was spending. Warren was never the guy to "blow up" at someone, but one day at therapy, he exploded. Jackie was talking about how she wanted to die, and Warren did not like that. I feel for Warren because its hard enough losing your 3 wonderful creations, and then having the person you love most talk about how they want to leave, sounds awful! They both went through something awful, and each person handles it differently.
Even though the girls were still gone, their rooms still looked neat and untouched. Jackie still loved them of course and she threw birthday parties just like she had promised before they died. She was still trying to hold onto something that left a long time ago. She had the party in her backyard and went all out. She invited like half the town, set up a huge tent and made it a fabulous party with cake and such. She thought that it was going to help her, but she still felt like something was missing... her daughters. No matter what she did, she still couldn't move on from what happened.
