I am reading Crossed by Ally Condie which is part of a three book series. Last semester I read Matched which was the first book. It is about a perfect society (a utopia), where everything is controlled from what you eat, to who you marry, to when you die. The main character Cassia, was matched (going to marry) with two guys both that she knew personally which is rare. One is her best friend Xander and one is an aberration (a person intelligible to be matched), Ky. She falls in love with Ky and he gets shipped to an outer Providence to fight in a rumored war. Cassia's family has also been relocated. In Crossed she is on the hunt to find Ky, but she doesn't know how, or when she will find him.

Has anyone else been able to see a change in a main character or extreme character development in their book?

In my Book Crossed, the main character Cassia has definitely grown from the first book. The first book is about her finding her voice, and maturing. This book is about her journey to find Ky, using her independence that her family has taught her. Cassia is a strong girl, and a role model for everyone.
