Linda Jenkinson Years ago, I read a book where it took three people to relate an event before the community believed it as truth. I can't remember the name of the book and honestly, that's the only part of the book I remember, but I think that would be a great world: a world where two sides weren't enough, where we need to hear at least three perspectives before we came to a decision about what was the truth.

Middle Earth or Marvel!

message 53: by Yanni (new) - added it

Yanni Karina I like Narnia, but not only Narnia the Kingdom but also the many worlds beside Narnia (When Narnia is not created yet).

And then I'd love if Tom Bombadil's forest become true, please. Dunno why, I want it more than Rivendell or Lothlorien, maybe because it seems more real.

Then again, I'd choose all, that is the fiction world to be real, parallel with our world, and are connected to one another like Narnia did. It would be awesome - if they didn't get to travel HERE, that's it^^

Joyce I'd choose Camelot

S.A. Felix Lord of the Rings for sure! I would love to live in Shire at best and travel to Rivendell or to the Lonely Mountains. Gondor and Rohan are out of my list...dont wish to visit Men's land.Lothlorien is somewhere i wish to stay or the undying lands...I got depressed with the real world after 3 LOTR movies and Hobbits series...and wished to just die and go to Middle earth....stupid of me.

T.L. Merrybard Anne McCaffrey's Pern!

Cintia Harry Potter, Middle Earth and Narnia... Also, I would love to train dragons in Berk. I may not know how to cook a rice, but I can handle a Deadly Nadder...

Koka V Hmm well I read a lot of books, but I guess I will choose Harry Potter's world. Even though it's dangerous with Voldemort and Death Eaters on the loose, I would love to try attending Hogwarts or doing magic, just a fun new experience of a new lifetime.

Phil Lewis The world of Peter F Hamilton's Commonwealth Saga seems to present a nice view of the future.

NormaCenva Star Wars & the extended universe!

message 61: by Riverreed (new)

Riverreed Greenland Middle Earth hands down.

Cassandra I can't believe no one has said Star Trek! I would probably pick that one, but the wizarding world of hp and Middle Earth would also be awesome. The only problem would be that Harry Potter is only cool if you're born a wizard and Middle Earth is only good depending on what you are born as and if you can manage not to die in an epic war. Star Trek has more of an equal opportunity feel and is dangerous and risky, but not so much that you feel like you'll die at any second haha.

Neil Gaiman's American Gods and Neverwhere would be my second choice. I want to say the Sandman, but it's a little bit of a scary place too. Pretty much if Neil Gaiman's imagination could be real, I'd be down.

Alexis Harry Potter

NormaCenva Or even better, Dune.

Phil Lewis All those who chose Harry Potter's world seem to miss the point. They do live in Harry Potter's world, but they're all muggles.

Also, most fantasy stories are set at a dangerous time in their worlds. There are never any stories about what happens when people live "happily ever after" unless some new threat appears.

As Terry Pratchett says, "may you live in interesting times"

Well I don't know about anyone else but I would rather live in anyone of those worlds just at the onset of the events in the books.

Bob Van Arsdale Alice's "Wonderland" maybe, or perhaps the territory behind the Looking Glass...

message 68: by Phil (new) - rated it 3 stars

Phil Lewis Of course, the elf lands of Middle Earth would have been deserted after the war of the rings.

Douglas Adams' galaxy sounds like fun

Margot Harry Potter
Narnia
Wildwood Dancing
Tortall
Wheel of Time
Moominvalley
The Book of Lost Things/any book where all of the fairy tales live in a single world together
Alice in Wonderland
The Eyre Affair

What. What. The shire isn't violent! Rivendell and Lorien aren't violent! The story is just violent. You crazy.

Nathan Garton Patrick Rothfuss' world in his 'Kingkiller Chronicles'. All the awesome with none of the clichés.

Bambamar Warhammer 40k - as long as I could be a space marine, pretty dire otherwise, or failing that a dragon rider on Pern. Or failing that a reality where faster than light travel is possible without all the problems of relativity.

Dwayne Fry Wonderland!

Derek I'd love to live in Middle Earth around the time Bilbo first sets off on his journey. I'd be his Sam.

Terry Prachet's Discworld? I have not read it yet but I have heard of it and it sounds fantastic.

Karen Oh geez, definitely Middle Earth! I would love to be in Valinor when Feanor gives his speech that encourages the Noldor to rebel and return to Middle Earth. It is such a passionate part of The Silmarillion. I know that Feanor is a very polarizing Tolkien character, but I love him.

Allison Lady Galadriel Middle earth and Narnia
FOR NARNIA!!!!
AND MIDDLE EARTH!!!!

Phillip Murrell Most of the literary worlds I enjoy have a low life expectancy. Therefore, I pick the Star Trek universe. Technology is great and the only risk of death can be thwarted by not wearing a red shirt.

Charlie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Same world but with better chocolate, oompa loompas. Shame about the Vermicious Knids

Joaquin Mejia Middle-earth but the Fourth Age when Aragorn is King of Gondor and Arnor. But the sad part is that there are no more Elves. So maybe any Age of Middle-earth will work even if Morgoth and Sauron are still around.

Emma New World, from Chaos Walking. I'd love to see if people could live with talking animals and listening to their thoughts out loud. Although we might all go crazy XD

Danny Lee wrote: "Mark wrote: "The World of Mass Effect."

:)"

yes i would love that

Philip Quense Middle earth for sure but also the worlds from Steven Lawhead's Atlantis from Taliesin or Albion from Paradise War.

Vickie Harry Potter, the world of the Night Circus, Middle Earth, Pippi Lockstocking’s world.

Darby Harry Potter for sure. Middle Earth maybe, but it would depend on where I went there.
