I believe it was published sometime after 2009, but other than that I'm not sure when. I saw it on the 'Check This Out!' shelves at the library. Is adult fiction.
Begins with a wealthy girl living with her controlling father and family. She's dissatisfied and runs way. She gets accosted by raiders? Highwaymen? They rape her constantly until she is able to escape. She realizes she's pregnant, but she now has nothing.
Eventually she shows up on a doorstep and lies down, giving up. When she's found she's taken in. Loses the baby. Turns out she's in the household of some noble man. She works in the household, I think as a scribe or some such? She begins falling for him, but he's in a gay relationship with another noble.
They realize they were a couple in a past life and the draw ends up being too much. They guy leaves his partner (who gets reeaaally angry).
The noble is involved in some political maneuvering. Maybe a rebellion? I only remember it was dangerous. She learns all about it by writing for him. eventually he decides it's too dangerous for her with him, and at the end of the book he sends her away to stay with a close associate.
