She watched the dragon as he crated stem. She slid of the rock holding her stuffed animal close to her chest as she crept closer to the dragon.

"Do you eat other people?" She asked walking up up to him.
"Okay." She sat on a rock next to him. "What's your name? I'm Lapis and this is kitty." She said holding out the stuffed animal for him to see.
"But if you don't tell me I don't know what to call you. I can't just call you dragon, that's rude."
"Nice to meat you Teenaz. What do you mean by dragon of old?"
"It is a long story, with complexities and villains around every corner. You would not understand all of the political twists and turns."
"I didn't understand any of what you just said. But you aren't going to explain it to me are you?"
She frowned and let out a sigh. "So... Why are you here?"
"But I like dragons. I was told not to go near them but your nice."
"No, you've just done nothing bad to me. So I don't have anything to be afraid of."
i raise my scaly eyebrow. "really? would it surprise you to hear of the numerous souls that i have deprived of bodies? of the kingdoms that i have single-handedly destroyed?"
"I don't care. That was in the past. You didn't do anything to me so I have no reason to be afraid."
She shrugged. "I don't, but I trust that you won't. I haven't given you a reason to."
"I'm not small. Your just too big, and I'm not done growing."
"Well you're like a thousand years old. I don't know if my kind can even live that long, I can't do anything about my age."
"How many?" She asked looking at him in awe.
"Why were you killing? Where they hurting you?"
"They threatened life as we know it. They were experimenting with mythical creatures. I have fought for other causes too, but that's the latest."
"Do you regret killing those people? Do you want to forget it ever happened?"
"Because you're interesting." She said shrugging. "Well, I'm six and now live alone in a huge house. Um, I'm not originally from this country and I'm a Willo-Of-The-Wisp."
"Well then why don't you tell me?"
She looked at him confused. "It's not bedtime, the suns stills out."
"Will you stay here even when the sun goes down?"
"the sun has to set, and the wind has to blow... but my place in this universe is unclear. i may well wander into a cave and rest, or i may stay here till duty calls... only time shall tell."
"I don't understand. Was that a poem?"
"Imagination? I thought all adults lost their imaginations."
"Okay. Can we talk about something else?" She asked as she slid of the rock and moved closer to him. She sat on the ground besides him. "Let's play a game or something."
"I've never played chests but I know checkers."
