It was only then that she noticed his scales, glowing brilliantly under his skin. Cyan's eyes widened dramatically, showing even more of her captivating blue-green irises. Retching her gaze away from his scales and up to his eyes as he spoke, she couldn't help but gape in astonishment. A...DRAGON?!?! He was a dragon! Holy crap holy crap holy crap! She screamed internally, forcibly stopping herself from flailing in excitement. Dragons were so rare now that almost no one has ever seen one, let alone met one. No one in her pride had ever met a dragon before, not even the High Priestess. And now she was the first! Oh yeah! She had absolutely no idea what a Dragon of Order was, but she was bound to find out soon, especially because she planned to stick to him like glue. At his last sentence however Cyan couldn't help but burst out laughing. She clutched at her stomach, giggling helplessly, eyes brimming with excitement and joy. 'Oh! You're funny!' She said gasping, trying to get control of herself again (and really really hoping she hadn't stuffed up and offended him). 'Well, its nice to meet you Raiden. I'm Cyan, a Water Draki.' She said once she had control of herself, grinning in happiness.

Her happy mood however plummeted when he spoke. She looked away from him, face set in a blank expression but eyes swirling with sorrow. 'There are others. But we are as rare as you now a days.' She said tightly, images of a hunters killing her pride flashing through her mind and making her growl softly, teeth bared at the imaginary foe.

Cyan's attention was abruptly drawn back into the present when Raiden awkwardly patted her on the back in between her wings. It was really cute and nice that he was trying to comfort her and was angry for her. He sucked at it but he was trying. She smiled softly at him, thankful for his words and actions, mood brightening slightly. 'Thanks Raiden....At least some of us survived.' She said with a shrug, trying to be a bit more positive. 'My mother and my little brother escaped with me. My father however.....he was not so lucky.' She said, mood dropping again. It was hard to be happy when she was sad. 'The last Hunter I saw burst into my home wearing his skin as a trophy.' She spat, disgusted and angry and sad, claws digging into the ground and tail twitching in agitation.

'No. I was only 12 at the time and had to protect my little brother. Not to mention I'm not the best fighter.' Cyan said embarrassedly. She could fight of course but she wasn't much for killing. Or fighting in general. She knew however that dragons were awesome warriors and felt embarrassed admitting this to Raiden but ah well. 'Some of the older males went after it. I never learnt if they caught it or not.' She said, remembering back. Her mother standing in front of her brother and her, hissing threateningly at the Hunter as she told Cyan to take Ladon and run. The older Iron males bursting through the door, all roaring fury. The Hunter jumping out a window and running. The males running after it but not before telling her mother to take us and escape through the back passages.
Shaking herself out of the memory, Cyan smiled again at Raiden. 'Anyway! I'm sure you don't want to listen to my old story of woe.' She said with a laugh, forcefully brushing away her bad mood. 'Could you tell me about you instead? All Draki are raised with stories of dragons, but it has been an age since any of us have met one of your kind!' She said excitedly, leaning forward eagerly in anticipation.

Shuffling closer, she nodded eagerly at the man to begin his 'perilous tale'. Her first thought was something along the lines of 'HOLY CRAP THERE ARE MORE DRAGONS?!?! Vdwvfhjsldvfgkh'. However, if she perused this line of thought right now it would not end well, so she pushed it to the back of her mind to freak out over later.
Her second thought was that maybe dragons weren't all that great after all. I mean, sure they had a SUPER huge superiority complex, but seriously?! Disgracing and abandoning one of their one just because he talked to a human? That was messed up.
Her third thought was more fleeting and basically consisted of 'Oh my goodness he is such a drama queen' and an amused mental chuckle.
Her final thought was more like a little happy chirp and preen that he thought she was lovely (and do not think about the existence of Heaven right now whatever you do). In the end, it was her second thought that she voiced.
'Seriously? That sucks.' She said simply. 'I mean, chucking you out just cause you talked to one little human? Bit overkill don'tcha think?'

As he began explaining what Earth was like to dragons she shuddered in disgust. She really liked Earth, especially the more wild places like her mountain home had been. However, she also understood his feelings, for she had felt them to. The wild places she loved were pure and beautiful, but they were few and far between. The humans had destroyed so many of them and Raiden was right that, especially near big cities, the air was foul and the water toxic. It made her cry to see what they were doing to her home. Safe to say, her mother had steered clear of cities during their travels.
Cyan nodded in encouragement when Raiden stopped for a second to study her, absently drawing shapes on the rock. She nodded to show she was still listening and that she wanted to hear more. But then (after sighing dramatically of course), he changed direction completely and it left her stunned and blushing. Cyan giggled then smiled brightly at him. 'Thank you!' She said, cocking her head to the side as she grinned. 'No one's ever called me beautiful before.' She said, scooting closer to him so she could lean on his rock. 'All the guys my age thought I was silly and childish!' She said dramatically, flopping over Raiden's rock in mock sadness then giggling at her own ridiculousness. She couldn't help it. Being silly was fun! 'But ah well! If wanting to go on adventures and have fun is childish then I am a child!' She declared to the sky, spreading her arms wide with a grin.

And the fact that he understood her need for adventure made her like him even more. Perhaps Raiden will come with me! She thought to herself, imagining all the fun she could have. Not to mention, she wouldn't have to hide in human form around him, she could be herself. That thought made her very pleased. Cyan turned her head to stare at the dragon as he flopped next to her, his silvery gaze locked on the sky above. She smiled when he turned to her to ask his question and giggled when he poked her nose. 'Mum just recently bought us a cottage! Its near the lake so we won't have to walk far to go swim. Where do you live?' She asked him curiously, imagination coming up blank. Where would a dragon banished to earth live?!

Payson leaned against a tree near the stream, making sure to stay in the shade, not because he’d dramatically turn into ash or anything. He wasn’t that kind of vampire. He just... sunburned easier than most people. He wasn’t really doing anything special either, just relaxing. He figured someone would come along sooner or later, that’s how things usually worked in the Haven, the tough part was figuring out wether a friendly fellow mythic would be showing up, or a demon from the fiery depths of hades would.

Payson heard a faint voice speaking in the distance and grinned. “And so it starts,” he muttered to himself, pushing off from the tree he was leaning against and starting into the forest. He’d learned it was better to go looking for the new approacher and meet them halfway than it was to let them just happen upon you. Even the nice mythics didn’t do well with that meetup.
He paused, smelling rat. That threw him off. He’d assumed it was a passive, since demons didn’t normally talk to themselves while walking alone in a peaceful forest. But he didn’t know of any sort of neutral species that smelled like rat.

Payson cocked his head, now able to pick up a scent that was familiar to him, along with the rat. He could hear their footsteps as well. When he was able to see the outline of the newcomer through the trees, he slowed and crossed his arms. “Hey there,” he called to them, still not quite sure what he was smelling, but hoping it wasn’t the scent of something that wanted to kill him. “Friend or foe? If you don’t mind my asking, anyhow.”

Payson grinned and slowed to a stop a few yards from her. “Wonderful! Friends are much better than foes in my opinion.” He studied her and added, “Especially when the friend is a pretty girl.”

He chuckled. “Yes it is.” He gave an emphatic bow, and winked up at her. “I’m Payson. And what might the lovely lady’s name be?” He crooned.

“Beautiful name for a beautiful girl,” Payson complimented, straightening up and clasping his hands behind his back. “Quick question, would you happen to have demon and/or vampire in your bloodline?”

Payson grinned, showing off his own fangs. “Lucky me! She’s pretty and of my own species!” He leaned his shoulder against a nearby tree and shook his hair out of his face. “So, how come you’re all bundled up out in the forest?”

“Shame.” Payson nodded understandingly. “I can’t really either. I mean, the sun doesn’t affect me as much as it does you, but sunscreen is definitely a thing in my household.” He smiled. “Sooo, Paris, tell me a bit about yourself.”

“Anything you want.” He cocked his head curiously. “Like, are you native to the Haven or did you come here from outside? Orrr, were you turned vampire or born that way? Jut to give some ideas.” Payson generally wasn’t a very curious person, or a very social person, but he hadn’t met many other vampires outside of his family, and especially not many of Paris’s particular breed that couldn’t be out in the sun.

“Me too!” He grinned. “My family and I moved here from the United States. Where'd you move from?”
He was excited now. He’d never really had a friend in the haven before. There was that one wizard he’d talked to, but he wouldn’t reeaaalllyyy consider him a friend. Maybe as more a... neutral being who didn’t have a particular hankering to kill him.
He felt like Paris could be an actual friend though.

"Niiice. We moved from Wyoming." He chuckled. "Ready for this? I've got my parents, and then two older brothers and an older sister, and then two younger sisters. It's always a party at my place." He shook his black hair out of his face, vowing to get a haircut later. He opened his mouth to return the question, but felt like that would be a bad thing to do, so he saved it by asking, "So, do you live over in those pitch black caves where all the other Dracula breeds live, or somewhere else?" He's heard of the caves, but he'd never been there. Some of his parent's friends lived there. Payson had never felt the need to visit them though.

"Wyoming is great. We lived in a more rural town. It's so beautiful there. The winters aren't fun though."
Payson noted the half answer, but didn't think much of it. "My parents kind of went from one to one hundred when we moved. We lived in a house that was barely big enough for all of us in Wyoming. But uh... we move do here and live in sort of a log cabin the size of a mansion. I'd offer to show you, but I think taking a girl home on your first meeting is improper." He chuckled and rubbed the back of his neck.

Payson smiled a bit. “Hey, how about we get lunch? It’s around that time for the daydwellers and I know this pretty good burger place that accommodates nicely for vampires.”

Payson’s smiled grew into a grin and he nodded, holding out his arm to her like a proper gentlemen. “We shall, m’lday Paris.”

No worries, I figered you got busy. Everybody gets those days. XD Oh moving could be really hard, well I hope you enjoy your new home))
Paris smiled at him resisting the urge to reveal her fangs to him, for her mother always said it was un lady like. Tho her family whom she was very close to would be the only ones to see her fangs, for this was a sign of comfort. Inclining her head respectfully she interlocked her arm with his thinking how much this took her back in time. He acted as if he grew up in her time and she couldn’t help but wonder if he was as old as her.
(Thanks for understanding! I’ll try to be more active so I’m not leaving you hanging for days ^^ I posted over at the Vampire Caves too btw :3)

Cyan had been playing further upstream when, out of the blue, she heard this wailing noise from downstream. Curiosity piked, she had quickly changed into her Draki form and slid into the stream. It wasn't the cleanest of streams that was for sure, but it was ok. It was certainly cleaner than some she had been in! With a few powerful strokes of her tail she was rocketing downstream. Reaching the area where the sound had come from in only a few minutes, Cyan slowed to a stop, resting on the bottom of the stream bed, looking up through the water. Frowning in confusion she watched the strange man cry at his reflection. She was definitely curious now! The strange man had long shaggy white hair and his eyes were a curious mix of brown and grey. Kind of like her mix of green and blue! Lets go say hi! She thought to herself with a grin, loving the thrill as she rocketed up and breached the water right at the mans face. Cyan giggled as the man's eyes widened in shock and he jerked back, having been nose to nose with a Draki. Bet this has never happened to him before! She thought to herself. 'Hiya!' She said cheekily, cocking her head curiously and grinning, her legs and powerful tail swaying unseen in the water to keep her upright.
