The series primarily follows soldiers turned to living stone, but also features werewolves, vampires and an enigmatic, immortal Cold War-era soldier as the team leader.

Each novel runs about 50,000 words and follows a pulp-structure, with a slow mystery building to a fast-paced, shifting-POV ending.
