right now i'm stuck in Regency/Victorian england...i'm currently reading Warleggan book 4 of the Poldark Saga and I just started Lady of Ashes, a Victorian Murder Mystery revolving around a lady undertaker who solves murders.

Kelly | 9 comments Currently jumping between several books. How to be a woman, by Caitlyn Moran and Self inflicted Wounds by Aisha Tyler .

message 6: by Cassandra (new)

Cassandra | 2 comments I'm reading Can You Keep a Secret? by Sophie Kinsella. It's a bit fluffy, but quick and enjoyable. I just finished Funny Girl by Nick Hornby, which was a really amazing read about late 1950's/early 1960's British tv and changing women's roles. I highly suggest it.

message 13: by Elizabeth (new)

Elizabeth | 3 comments I've just finished Lumberjanes Vol 1 and Gotham Academy Vol 1 - both graphic novels, both really good reads! I also just finished The Long Earth by Sir Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter. It's alright but not as Pratchett-y as I'd like. I'm re-reading Kindred by Octavia Butler and it's great.

I choose it for the book club at my library. I've had a overall theme of choosing books that have female leads. I'm glad you enjoyed Kindred, it's really a fantastic read!

message 16: by Deirdre (new)

Deirdre Carrobis | 3 comments I am currently reading The Martian. My daughter wants to read it before seeing the movie. I challenged her to see who could read it first. She needs a book to catch her attention right away.

message 17: by Deirdre (new)

Deirdre Carrobis | 3 comments Jeanette, The Woman who Would be King was good. It's not completely factual. There are areas in which the author assumes things. I was fine with it.

Kelly | 9 comments I'm cycling through a few books at the moment. The Other Queen, by Phillipa Gregory , a re-read of a favorite , The Game of Kings by Dorothy Dunnett and When Gods Die by C.S. Harris. All good reads.
