Steph took Katie over to the swing set. "Yeah and I'll know who to go to when I need some artwork," Bryan grinned.
Zach watched them and then went back to looking at the sky She smiled," Yeah I guess you do."
Steph checked the time and sighed. "We should go," she said. Bryan had gone to the kitchen to get a snack and went back into the living room.
Zach looked over at her as he was still laying on the ground but Katie was playing beside him," Okay so do you want me to take you home or do you want to go to my house now?" He asked sitting up and pulling Katie into his lap as if he had always been there with them Isabelle had watched as Bryan left the room ad came back. "Where is Zach?" She asked
Steph flinched slightly when she saw him put Katie in his lap, but stopped herself. She had to stop being so frikkin nervous. "It doesn't matter," she says, although she really didn't want to go home yet."He took Steph to some thing," Bryan said. "Whatever it is you usually take her to."
Zach looked at her and then at katie," did I do something wrong?" He asked looking back at the happy girl in his lap. He didn't know that often Isabelle just sat off to the side while Steph played with Katie. Zach liked kids and was good with them Isabelle sat up and just stared at Bryan," Steph let Zach take her there? Without a fight?"
"No you're fine," Steph gave him a smile. It actually made her kind of happy to see him acting that way with Katie. "Yeah," Bryan shrugged. "As far as I know."
Zach nodded slightly," Okay then." He answered. He looked back down at Katie and chuckled softly," well was she supposed to fall asleep?" He asked Isabelle laid back down shaking her head a little bit," she never let anyone else take her there... I wonder what made her say yes to Zach taking her."
Steph grinned, seeing that Katie had fallen asleep. She reached over and brushed her curly hair out of her eyes. "I think it's nearing her nap time." "I'm not sure," Bryan replied. "What's the big secret about it anyway?"
Zach nodded a little bit," or it is her nap time." He answered fixing her so she was laying a little more comfortably in his arms Isabelle shook her head," I can't tell you." She said softly," it's not my secret to tell even though I don't think you would tell anyone Steph has to tell you."
Steph nodded. "Yeah. You're really great with her, you know." She said softly. "What do now I'm gonna be the only one who doesn't know?" Bryan joked.
Zach smiled a little bit," Well thanks.. I can't help it I like little kids." He answered," I thought my parents were going to adopt a kid not that I don't like having Isabelle around." He said Isabelle nodded," yeah and the rest of the people who don't know."
Steph chuckled slightly. "No I understand. It's gotta be weird suddenly having a sibling your age.""Yeah but the three if you are gonna have this big secret and I'll be the odd one out," Bryan grinned.
Zach nodded a little bit," Yeah it is pretty weird having her around now." He answered Isabelle nodded," I guess but you will have to get Steph to trust you."
Steph nodded. "I'm sure. You're doing pretty great though." Bryan shrugged. "Okay whatever."
Zach nodded," thanks," he answered. "So what are we going to tell Bryan we were doing." He asked Isabelle frowned," I just don't want her not to trust me and if I tell you she won't trust me anymore."
Steph looked down. "I don't know, he doesn't seem like the type to be able to keep a secret. He's to... Jokey.""No it's all right, I understand," Bryan said. "But I will let you know, nothing I've ever been entrusted with I've given away."
Zach looked at her," He can keep a secret... I've known him since we were little and he's never told anyone any of my secrets." He answered Isabelle nodded," I had a feeling you were like that, but you have to show that to Steph not me." She replied
Steph nodded. "I'll feel him out.""Yeah I know, I can't expect you to just give it up like that," Bryan replied.
"Okay but don't take too long." He said looking at her with a smile Isabelle nodded," alright good." She replied
Steph nodded. "Okay." Bryan grinned and opened one if the textbooks again, trying to get the last of the homework done.
Zach smiled at her and got up still holding Katie," so where should I put her?" He asked Isabelle watched him for a while before going back to sleep
"I'll take her back to the house," Steph said, reading for her.
"Well alright then," he answered giving the small girl back to her
Steph took her and cargoes her back to the house.
Zach watched her fr a second before following her I side the house
Steph took Katie up to her room and laud her in her crib. She kissed her on the forehead. "See you later sweetie," she said before walking back out.
Zachary waited for her to come back downstairs so they could go back to his house for a little while before he took her home
He nodded," I am if you are." He answered
Steph nodded and went out to his car. She always felt down after leaving.
Zachary looked over at her once they were in the car," If you could have would you have kept her?" He asked softly
Steph shrugged. "I don't know. I couldn't, so why does it matter? I'm not technically even supposed to see her, but her parents aren't telling."
"It matters you are her mom no matter what." He replied, " why wouldn't you be allowed to see her?" He aske
Steph shrugged again. "Yeah... It's more of like an advising against it. Lupita and Hank, my foster parents, don't think it's a good idea."
"But you live right here and it's not like that can't let you unless you asked for a closed adoption." He replied
"Yeah I know, that's how I'm still getting to see her. But the looks and talks I get on coming home make it frustrating." Steph said.
"Okay then don't go home tonight." He answered," Stay over at our house." He offered
Steph quickly shook her head. "No. Thanks, but no. I've... Started to like you, as a friend of course, and it's great being around Isabelle again. I really don't want to be relocated."
"Why would spending the night at our house cause you to be relocated?" He asked confused. "Well I'm glad you see me as a friend now."
"Lupita and Hank are paranoid that I'm gonna get pregnant again," she explained. "So they never let me stay out overnight."
"Ohhh well I'm not going to be the guy to get you pregnant again." He answered
Steph laughed slightly. "I sure hope not. Would you believe me if I told you they subscribed be to a magazine called Abstinence Today?"
Zach looked over at her," There's such a thing as that?" He asked," That is crazy."
Steph laughed. "I know right? I wouldn't believe it myself if I didn't get an edition every two weeks."
Zach shook his head," What is in it?" He asked," How to stay away from men?" He asked laughing a little bit
"Mostly. And horror stories about STDs and eighteen year old girls living in homeless shelters with five kids, stupid stuff like that." Steph grinned.
Isabelle smiled," Well then now I know who to ask for help with science classes." Se said
