I read this back in high school and I can't remember if I liked it or not. I plan on reading it again this year, 10 years after high school, to see if I like it or not.
I read this one a couple of years back out of curiosity, and I don't really remember much about it :/. I think I liked it okay, but it didn't really stay in my mind. I think I felt sorry for Gatsby in the end! And at the same time I didn't because of his obsession/love for Daisy Buchanan.
Have I ever told you guys how much I despise Daisy Buchanan? I reread the book last year when the movie came out, and Daisy drives me nuts. lol. I really love the movie though.
The movie was on tv the other night, but I missed it, and only caught the end where Gatsby is lying dead in the coffin! I didn't like Daisy much either! But then again, I don't remember much haha.
I always have to watch it now and then. The soundtrack is one of my favorites. I'm not quite sure if she was high and mighty, it was more like she thought she could have her cake and eat it too. I just never thought she was that great of a person, and all these people are throwing themselves all over her.
It looks like they did a really good job with the movie, I definitely want to watch it properly.
I do get the feeling she wants it all, yet at the same time, I felt she was kind of a distant character, who felt she was a bit too good for things....

Premise on GRs for the Great Gatsby
THE GREAT GATSBY, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s third book, stands as the supreme achievement of his career. This exemplary novel of the Jazz Age has been acclaimed by generations of readers. The story of the fabulously wealthy Jay Gatsby and his love for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan, of lavish parties on Long Island at a time when The New York Times noted “gin was the national drink and sex the national obsession,” it is an exquisitely crafted tale of America in the 1920s.
The Great Gatsby is one of the great classics of twentieth-century literature
