Prologue: (view spoiler)[ I enjoyed this prologue. It seems a bit bittersweet as he is remembering his love for Savannah and everything that happened in their lives and their relationship. (hide spoiler)]

Part 1 (Chapters 1-11): (view spoiler)[ It is interesting to learn about the issues he had growing as a teenager. I really wonder why he does not like his father talking about the coin collection. I really liked how he jumped in the water to retrieve his bag. Also, I really liked the fact that they are starting off by getting to know each other. Haha...Savannah is so cute. I love that he is teaching her how to surf. Her reaction to the cold water was cute. That was a sweet first date. I really love John and Savannah. Learning more about the mother is interesting. Savannah and his father meeting up, I wonder how that will turn out. They met and they hit it off. I really liked seeing his father so happy. Savannah was great with him. Their first kiss was even better in the book than in the movie. I thought it was more special. She was raped? Omg! I feel so bad for whatever she went through. I think Savannah was crying because she knew the conversation about his father and his Asperger's disorder was going to not be a happy one. Also, Tim should have gotten involved in their fight, now look at what happened. Wow...his mother left because of his father's coin collection. I think that was selfish that she only thought of herself and not her child. The first letter was so sweet. I really loved it. I am glad that they patched things up before they left. (hide spoiler)]

Part 2 (Chapters 12-15): (view spoiler)[ Ooh...I wonder how long they can keep this long distance relationship up. He finally gets to see her. Yay! I really liked how they fought, but always come back stronger. They really do love each other very much. I really like his father. He really is a nice, sweet man who cares about his coin collection. Oh, so September 11 had something to do with what happened to their relationship? I really think that Savannah should not have broken up with him through a letter. That just seems wrong to me for some reason. I feel so bad for John. (hide spoiler)]

Part 3 (Chapters 16-20): (view spoiler)[ Awe...I hope his father makes it through. I do not know what John will do with the collection. Hopefully he keeps it as a way to remember his father. Omg! His father passed away. So sad, I wonder how John will cope without his father. I feel so bad for John. He is seeing the woman that he loves married to someone else. It must be very difficult. I think Savannah does not love her husband as much as she loves John. Omg! For John to find out that Tim is her husband must have hurt, but he saw it when he first met him. I wonder what changed Tim's mind to pursue Savannah. Tim knows she still loves John. I feel bad for his situation and I hope he is okay. (hide spoiler)]

Epilogue: (view spoiler)[ I thought the ending was sad and bittersweet. They still love each other so much, but can't be together. It must be hard to lose the love of your life.
