Jeanna Do you think Bella should go with Jacob?

Holly No way she should definitely go with Edward because Jacob is kind of irritating in his own sort of way. I know don't think me totally heartless I still feel sorry for Jacob but she should still go with Edward.

Dtaze Bella needs to make up her mind - immediately....HONESTLY. How difficult can it be to choose between Edward or Jacob? The answer is obviously EDWARD otherwise the book would be pointless.

Personally, Bella is irritating me!

Leslie I would have thought that most middle schoolers would have gone for Edward. Where I work, most of the 7th and 8th grade girls are talking about Jacob. Maybe the older you are, the more Edward appeals to you? I keep suggesting they do internet searches and find out about La Push. They'd definately choose Edward then!

Darn you, Leslie! I was all prepared to give my big gigantic endorsement for Jacob who I've been rooting for since New Moon and who I definitely favored by the end of Eclipse. Now you're gonna make me go do a search on La Push and find out a bunch of nasty stuff about the werewolves, huh? I won't do it, I tell you, I won't! lol!

Anyway, I love Jacob so much more than Edward. But that's just me - I've ALWAYS been a sucker for the under"dog"!

Sara butler Definately Edward, Dtaze said it perfectly, the series wouldn't have much of a point if she ened up with Jacob

Leslie Janet, I think the werewolf stuff would make La Push a little more exciting!!! La Push is beautiful in the summer! If you like to camp, hike or any outdoor stuff, that's the place to be!!! I would just think in the winter that you're so isolated there. It's pretty far from everything! It could be depressing...in the cold, gloomy weather (remember, there's not much sunshine in the whole area!!).

Vettech2124 I understand Jacob's role...and it's to be Bella's FRIEND! AND ONLY HER FRIEND! Edward=boyfriend/fiance. Jacob=friend/major pain in the ass!

Saya Jake is healthier for Bella and the two have an actual relationship that is not reminiscent nor comparable to a person addicted to heroin. What a charming comparison: Jake is the healthy and life giving sun while Edward is the addictive, unhealthy, illegal and even fatal heroin.

Honestly, both (even Edward) are too good for Bella- she's a whiny, selfish, helpless, indecisive, tart who needs a slap and therapy sessions.

I love you Saya! Your words are perfect. I actually don't believe I even started to comment on this forum. I am much too old (and wise!) to be debating such nonsense with a bunch of "young adults" but I just couldn't help weighing in. I'm curious as to your age range because if you are younger than 20 (or thereabouts) I'd have to say that you are a very sensible person to give the assessment that you just did. You're so right that Edward is like a heroin addiction with Bella. That's part of what I don't like about these books. The fact that she would go to such lengths to be with him and the way she shut down when they were apart speaks to that addiction. And, I have to tell ya, young ones, it ain't healthy! I want to tell all of the young people that you will learn in life that what you may think at the time is the best thing for you and that you would "die" without it, is not always so. The grass IS sometimes greener on the other side and your one true love might have been starring you right in the face the whole time and you never even noticed because you were so caught up in your addiction to someone else. But, as I said, I don't want to spend my time arguing with teens about a work of fiction - that's just crazy. But one more thing I'd like to get off my chest. I'm really cracking up at all of you who are saying "if she doesn't end up with Bella then what's the point of the series." Oh, seriously, girls, please try to broaden your horizons and minds. :-)
Never was there a truer saying than "Live and Learn."

And P.S. I'm pretty damn sure that Stephenie is going to have her end up with Edward. She knows what you guys want.

Leslie Here's another thought...from a not so young adult...If Edward really wanted to 'catch' Bella, he should have cleaned the bathroom, the kitchen, and her bedroom, done the laundry etc. while she was asleep. Once you've lived on your own or with some one else (besides your mommy or a maid service), you'll agree that it's annoying that he sat there and listened to her talk in her sleep. If he doesn't need to sleep, he could be helping her out! I'd love a vampire who came over at night and cleaned my house!

April Leslie that is so true!!! I love it! My sister-in law and I were talking about that. She was like "why doesn't he do something with all that spare time he has". Which I totally agreed with. If Edward did clean and cook and do all that stuff, he'd definatley be to good to be true.

Haylie Edward is totally better than Jacob!! And anyone who thinks otherwise is out of their ever-lovin' minds!!!

Meg I think they both have their good qualities, but Edward respects Bella. He respects her feelings and what she wants. Jacob crosses the line and approaches things a little on the immature side. I guess that is to be expected since Edward is a century or two older than him. But if you truly love someone I guess you do whatever it takes---for both guys. (but I am still all for Edward even though I feel for Jacob)

Goldie One thing that I would have to know more about before I would pick for Bella is the imprinting. Is it still possible for Jake to imprint on someone else? Because if that were a possibility, I wouldn't want Bella to pick him and then get left like Leah (that ending would be too depressing). If Jake imprints on Bella, he would be everything she needs "that kind of devotion is hard to deny" and she could still have kids and not have to worry about killing people. I don't know... love isn't always blind.

Lizzie She should devinently stay with Edward. He's romantic and respectful at the same time. He doesn't cross lines that Bella doesn't want. Everyone else in the coven is paired up, and Bella really does fit there. And Goldie, who ever told you that vampires couldn't have kids? Its already clear that she can't live without him. Plus, Edward is willing to look past differences, however difficult, for Bella's benifit. That's really saying something.

Jacob was refered to as the small sun that made the world happy. However, this is not a lasting effect for Bella, and when she's not physically with him it goes away. With Edward, it is more lasting. Jacob was willing to give up their friendship because of instincts, where as Edward prioitizes their relationship. Everyone wants the bad boy, but Jacob really doesn't have Bella's best intrests in mind. He's got his own, and after those, his pack's. If you ask me, the whole "imprinting" thing is just a cover-up because he wants Bella. Jacob will only have to go an extended liftime without Bella; Edward will live forever without his one true love.

Besides, shes a whiny excuse for a character. She doesn't deserve either one.

Lizzie For Leslie: Heroin is only fatal if you overdose, otherwise it give a pretty good ride. It's only illeagal because the state made it that way. I can't argue with the unhealthy, but people have to achiever some balance between healthy and fun. Otherwise, what's the point of living? Plus, herion does have pain-dulling effects and has been used for cancer patients. THIS IS IN NO WAY AN INDORSMENT FOR DRUGS. Just thought it could use some perspective - they aren't all bad, no matter what they tell you.
Jake's just a different kind of addiction, say pot. She misses him, just not to the same extreme.

Totally agree on the slap and the therapy sessions though.

Goldie Lizzie- I believe in the books it talks about "having kids" as being a human experience. When Bella pictures her future with Jake in Eclipse, she sees her two small children. Vampires can't have children. They can create new vampires that fit into rolls in the family, but it's not the same.

As far as all those who complain about Bella's character being too whiney and indecisive... lets just keep in mind, she is very young and has no experience with dating. Within a short time she finds herself in love with a 100 year old vampire and a kid even younger than her that turns into a werewolf. Cut her some slack.

I am not opposed to Bella ending up with Edward. I think the author is trying to get the reader to be torn just like Bella is. For me, it's working because either way, she is going to have to give something up.

Hilda Absolutely NOT! Jacob knew a long time ago that Bella was head-over-heels in love with Edward and that he had lost.

They just were not meant to be and never will be if Edward and Bella get their way :)

Blanca Although I love Jacob more than Edward, I still don't think that Bella should go with Jacob...
