I really enjoyed this graphic novel, and now I'm going to have to go back and find the first one. I still understood the story well enough, but I think a few questions would have been cleared up if I had read the first volume first.

I just realized as I was writing my review of this book - it was published in 2012. Why did it win a YMA this year?
The Great Graphic Novels for Teens policies state: "The list presents graphic novels published in the past 16 months that are recommended reading for teens aged twelve to eighteen." So books published in the last 4 months of 2012 qualified for this list.
I enjoyed this, but wish I'd read volume 1.
I did go back and read volume 1 first. It helps. But the story is a mystery that has me really looking forward to vol. 3.
