Excellent! Thank you!

Loretta, go to Message 1 of this thread. There are 6 books that we are voting on for a group read with the author in October. Vote for the one you most want to read right here in a post.
Thanks Christine,
All the authors on message 1 are ALL members here in this group.
We are adding this idea to our group to support are own member/authors, as well as the regular Q & A thread.
Voting till end of September.

I am amazed at hardly any votes for Dave Edlund books his two books are five stars for me.
Crossing Savage
and
Relentless Savage
Plus ha over 100 patents, a great biography.

Relentless Savage was my number three - but since you can only vote for one book it wasn't this one.@ Christine I love 'guy' books. Especially all this espionage, cyber and techno thriller stuff - I like it way more than the 'classic' stuff: My number one was Martin's Misdirection and the second choice 11/9 I would say both rather guy books.
On the other hand books like Burning Man (looks like it will make it) even if I forced myself to read it and sticked to the end I'm not sure I would know what to do with :-)
See, Agnieszka, I'm not a fan of that stuff. Espionage, cyber, techno stuff. Is the first one of that ilk as well, Sean? I guess I shouldn't say "guy" books. Maybe "for people a lot younger than me" books, lol.
Good old fashioned thriller.
Yes there is a base story, re plots, but the main story, is a son, a father, and stopping the baddies.

I struggle with 'guy' books hence very rarely read them. But then most guys don't read 'girl' books! ;-)
What are girl books, Janet? The poorly named chick-lit category or literary fiction/contemporary fiction or just anything that isn't action, adventure, erotica? This could make for an interesting discussion. Where are the guys?
I struggled long time with 'girl' books - though it's no wonder since I was raised pretty much like the boy my parents didn't have - so very long time my interests were very boy-like and it took many years for me to start to think and act in a different way.Today I just try to enjoy the best of both worlds and it's sometimes really fun - especially when I've seen the faces of some men I was on my way to church or a family event of any kind all dressed up and helped someone dealing expertly with any kind of tool with ease and practice :-)

Now I enjoy those (rs) even more than thriller :-)
My most favorite RS series are the Bluegrass and the following Bluegrass Brothers by Kathleen Brooks starting with Bluegrass State of Mind which is free for Kindle (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005...)The other great series are Stephanie Plum and Fox and O'Hare by Janet Evanovich
All three are also really funny, so when I read any of them it's like holiday - no it's much better. :-)
Voting still going, and we do have three runaway books with votes.
1 Burning Man 12 votes
2 Absolution 7 votes
3 Misdirection 3 votes
But at this time I think what might be good is to read our winning book in October as a read a long and Q& A.
Then do the same in November and maybe December.
Alongside our full Q & A which are booked, dates to confirm.
Then in January will add another selection of author member books to look at to read.
Lots of authors are PM me about doing a Q & A, so I think this will be popular.

Went to Amazon to buy The Burning Man on my kindle
Shocked over £11.00 for a kindle version, that is expensive.

Wow! That'll buy 4 copies of imperfect strangers, with a pound left over for a snack. Am I selling myself short?
That's how I feel almost each time I want to buy any book we want to read here. Why must be books so expensive. An than we have to hear complains people are reading so little. I'm sure if the publishers would change their prizing people would buy more books and read more. There are so many really great books I would love to read though I can't get them in library and I can't afford to buy them. Some are sitting on my wish-lists (I call them in the mean-time watch-lists) since years and wait for a decent deal - sigh.
That's also one of the reasons I switched to books in English. You cannot get the German books cheaper due to German politics.
I get that Chris, but pitching a ebook so high, I don't get where any publisher is coming from. I don't care how desperate I would be for wanting a book, I won't pay over the odds.
Cannot send Solange a PM, not a friend.
Will need to contact her if her book is next in the read along

If Chris doesn't have her email address, let me know and I will look for it. I had it at one point so just would need to go through my deleted folder.
I have sent Solange a PM.
1. to mention re thread
2. to ask her to join in October
3. to lower price of book
Will let everyone know

Sean you're our hero!
If anyone want the book, I have it on Adobe format, and can pass to you.
As this will be the book we are reading for our October Readalong.

Sadly I have so many books on my kindle.
Over 800 on my bookshelfs, 52 on Net Galley, 49 from authors straight to my Kindle.
My Book pal(not picked yet), my PITFM book for August(readi..."
Yeah patience is a thing you are always trying to catch but I didn't have so much success yet :-)
And I understand fully the point with all the great books to read and so little time. That's one of the reasons I'm not reading The Burning Man there are other books I want read far more urgently. If there is ever a time I can't think of a book to read than perhaps I'll read :-)
And since I found this group I'm spending much too much time online. I find each day another great thread and read through or join as much as I can. OK I'm off now to finish Angela's fist book so I can start tomorrow with my book-pal-book :-)
Enjoy
