How was he suppose to save her? He could hardly move himself as it was due to everything he'd been through. Forcing himself to sit up and look around taking everything in. Then saw her a foot away from him shaking. Crawling over to her, and placing a hand on her face gently. "Ruby--- look at me.. this, what you're feeling. You need to fight it. Focus on me." Nick had no idea what was wrong with her but he could tell that it wasn't just what he'd said and done back at the house it was something else all together.

"Darkness. It's everywhere." Her eyes widened softly, it was a risk using the darkness to get Nick's emotions back on. She couldn't look at him it was too hard to do so. "Please save me, if you don't save me. Blake will have to kill me, please save me." The darkness was too overwhelming for her. She managed to look up her eyes were solid black. "I can't fight it much longer."

Will noticed some time had pass any Grace didn't show any signs up waking. He picked her up gentley and carried her bridal style to his vehicle. Maybe he should called the other pack to see if they had a medicine wolf.

Nick had a bad feeling about this- about if the darkness won this time.. she'd really be gone and there would be no getting her back. Blake would have to kill her. Turning her face towards him seeing that her eyes had become black. Even the whites had. "Strawberry, you can't do this... okay? You see me? Focus on me, my voice... " He told her dead serous. Then leaned down and kissed her. Hoping that, that would transfer all of their good memories. That, that would make her fight as well.


Grace felt herself being carried, again. Then felt the cold air hit her face before being set into a car. Groaning at the sight she saw inside her head. "No.... no. Wrong.." she had fallen back asleep after jack knifing up only to be meet by more nightmares.

Ruby's eyes widened as Nick kissed she kissed back softly. "Nick I'm tired." she whispered softly. "Please don't let go of me ever again." she didn't want to lose Nick. "Make it go away." she whispered tiredly. With all of her strength she was focusing on Nick.


Will frowned as he realized she was having nightmares. He sighed a little bit and looked down at her. "Shhhh Grace none of is real." he whispered softly kissing her forehead before buckling her up. "We are going to get you help. I promised."

Nick could tell that she was focusing all she had on him. He just hoped that it was enough. "I wont. I know you are sweetheart... shh. I will, I swear." He told her putting all of their memories into her mind, and forcing out the darkness. Although it wasn't easy. Because it seemed to be pushing back at him. Leaning down and kissing her softly again.



Grace felt the soft kiss land on her forehead but every time she was about to pull herself out of the nightmares she got sucked back into it. There was no escape. At least none that she'd been able to find. Then heard a click! Realizing even in sleep they were in the car and Will was probably taking her someplace to get help.

Ruby relaxed against him she clenched his shirt in fists. When his lips touched hers again shivers were sent up and down her spine. Ruby believed in this very moment despite everything bad that happened to them she wanted him. "You're never going to let go again."

Will wondered what was going on in Grace's head. He knew it wasn't any good. He decided to take her to the ER. Even if they might not be able to help her, but if something was really wrong then, they would be able to help more than another pack would. He sped off to the ER hoping he didn't get pulled over, by the police.

Nick couldn't tell if the darkness was gone or if it had just hid itself to confuse them to think that it was gone. But they'd find out soon. Believing in this moment. In them more now then he had in the last week. Wrapping her up in his arms. "Never." He told her softly.

Ruby's eyes turned back to their ice blue color. She could feel it lingering in her heart. She cried in out in pain as it tried to worm it's way back into her mind. "M-a-ake it stop." Her voice was shaky she couldn't do this it was too much for. The darkness started to play tricks on her mind. "He's going to leave me. He doesn't want me anymore. I'm just like those other girls." Ruby inhaled and smelt Nick. Don't trust what you know. They can never be trusted The voice in her head sounded familiar, but yet strange. Ruby's body went limp in Nick's arms. Maybe she shouldn't be fearing the Darkness, but those who told her to that it was bad. For some reason she was beginning to feel the Elders were up to something and Blake knew about it.

Blake frowned, deeply as he caught a hint of a voice that wasn't detected at him. But at Ruby. And the bad thing was- he knew that voice. Very well in fact. The only question was, what were they up to and why hadn't they told him? Although the second half of that question was easy. They hadn't told him because they didn't want him to know, and if he knew they knew that he'd try and stop it. Crossing over and kneeling down next to her. Resting a hand on her forehead. "Ruby--- focus on Nick. Focus on him with everything you are, this is very important okay?"


Nick looked up at Blake as he crossed over and then keeled down next to them resting a hand on Ruby's forehead. Moving a piece of hair out of her face. "Sweetheart--- listen to my voice, I don't know if you can feel me next to you, but if you can hear me. You need to know that you aren't like the other girls, okay? What I said back at the house-- it was wrong. Out of line, none of that is true.."




Grace's nightmare~


It was during the war, again. Everything, everywhere was war. Expect this time he hadn't given her the leave of abbcance to deal with her brother's death. He had stilled died. Just this time she had been there with him, when Ruby had attacked him. And then he had bleed out in her arms. With no way to save him because they were too far away. Then it had switched.
She was back at the house, this time. Only she wasn't the Female Alpha either. Eva had taken her position again. Just this time around, she got to watch it all play out. Eva with all the other males as they pleased. Eva making plans on what to do,-- how she commanded everyone so easily.. did everything for them. But it was so wrong too. Everything she did was twisted into some form of horror. Then came her with Will again. It had played out in her mind so many times already and every time it did it just got worse and worse.
Now the battle was over. The vampires had lost, because she hadn't been able to go to them this time around and tell them what was going on. Ask for their help. Every one, Nick, Raven, Ruby, Blake... and everyone that had fought with them lay on the ground dead or about to die. Watching it all play out. Then Eva had turned to her and commanded her to leave. She had protested. Saying that she wouldn't, that she needed to stay. But then Will had come into the picture next to Eva and told her to leave. That he never wanted to see her again, that he'd never loved her. That it had all been a joke. Before walking back to the house with the rest of the pack and Eva as well.

Then after that it had been nightmares about her life before she'd come here, Before she'd meet Will... everything just kept rolling around and around in her head. Like a tape stuck in one spot unable to go any further.

Ruby felt Blake's hand on her forehead. Or maybe Blake didn't know what was going on? That would make sense, if the elders were up to something. But this wasn't an Elder was it? You can't trust the Elders no matter what they say or do. You aren't like the other Elders. Blake spent his one save on you. The elders want to use you for the bigger picture. They didn't care what Blake thought. They just want you and Nick as pawns. Blake might be an old vampire, but he is gullible. Trust your gut. You are very powerful Ruby, I'm just here to help you fight off the Elders. If you fight the darkness it will eat you alive. If you fight your Elder's powers that will eat you alive. Who was this voice? For the most part why did she believe the voice.

Ruby heard Nick she didn't know what to do. The voice sounded familiar. Her eyes snapped open. She knew who the voice was, her grandfather. All she remembered about her grandfather was that he got exiled because he went dark, but now she believed something else was going on. She sat up weakly and propped herself against Nick. Ruby was still tired and weak she curled into Nick. "Nick it's my fault you shut off your emotions. It's my fault too." she whispered. "Blake can you go find Raven and take Avery back to the house. I want some alone time with Nick." She wanted to tell Nick what she was thinking without Blake around. A yawn escaped her mouth as her eyes shut. "I don't want to fight anymore Nick."

Will pulled into the hospital and carried her in. They took her back immediately. They started to run all sorts of tests on her. He didn't know what else to do what watch her body lay their peacefully. Expect he knew better than to think that she was sleeping peacefully.

Blake looked between the two of them then rouse giving a slight nod and then headed off to find Raven so that he could get Avery and bring her back to the house. Maybe even speak with Raven on some things before hand. Heading to her house first just in case she'd gone there.


Nick watched as Blake walked off to go find Raven and get Avery back for them. Then looked back to Ruby. "No. I was under so much stress, and I felt shut off,- from everything. You, what was going on with everything...just everything as a whole. I finally just lost it. What I did, while I was out of control,-- was horrible. And I'm not just talking about what I said, I killed people. People I'd never even meet before, people I had nothing against..." He told her wanting her to know everything he'd done, or close to it at least so that there weren't any secrets between them no matter how nasty the truth of it might be.



Grace heard the voices and felt herself being moved around.. assuming that it was the doctors and that Will had finally gotten her to the hospitable and that they were putting her through the tests. But even through all of the movements and tests she still remained in the nightmares. Having to watch everything over and over again.

"I'm not upset about that." she whispered softly. "Vampires are predators we are supposed to kill humans." Ruby adjusted herself against him more. "Nick I heard a voice in my head while you were trying to draw out the darkness. The voice was familiar, and I trust the voice. I think this voice was pushing the darkness in me, but I don't think it is suppose to be something to fear." Ruby bit her lip knowing she sounded crazy. "The voice said that the Elders are up to something that there is a reason they let Blake change me into an Elder. The voice also said that Blake is keeping secrets. I believe the voice." She was terrified that Nick would think she was crazy.

The doctors started to push her away. He sighed what was she dreaming about and why wasn't she fighting it? The Grace he knew fought hard and didn't give in so easily.

Nick held her as she told him about the voice in her mind. It didn't make sense. But then again-- it kind of did. Sort of. "Then what is it? Sweetheart, I don't know much about magic and everything in this world but--- I'm not sure that the darkness is something to welcome with opened arms either, even if it isn't something to fear. They're always up to something, even when no one thinks they are. This voice though-- did you recognize it? We'll talk with Blake when he gets back with Avery."


Grace was fighting. It wasn't easy though and it might not seem like she was from the outside. But she was, just not as strong as she usually did...and maybe that was what was holding her back from being able to escape the dream- nightmare. But she was a wear of everything going on around her she just couldn't- get there.

Ruby looked up at him and shook her head no. "I don't think we should talk to Blake." she whispered softly. "But what if it isn't the darkness we should be fearing? What if it's the Elders? I know I am technically an Elder, but I will never fit in with them and I don't want to." she bit the inside of her cheek. "It was my grandfather. He was ruler before my father, but he was exiled because he went dark, but my gut is telling me there's more to the story than him going dark." Ruby could feel the darkness in her. "I'm not welcoming it with open arms."

Nick nodded his head as she explained what she felt and thought. Thinking carefully before he answered. "Maybe- we should go pay him a visit... is he still alive? We could get his side of the story if he is, try and figure out what's going on. It is possible, considering everything they've done and all." Nick wasn't so sure about this logic but he'd go with it until they came up with another way- if there was another way- to explain all of this.

Ruby shook her head. "It's not that easy Nick, once a vampire is exiled no one is allowed to see them ever again. Especially if they were exiled because of darkness. Whatever is going on with the Elders, we need answers. I don't think Blake will tell us anything that he isn't allowed to tell us." she whispered softly. "Before go back the darkness isn't gone." Ruby forced herself to her feet. There was something important that she couldn't remember.

Nick nodded. "We can find a way around that if we have too, there's always a loop whole. Even in this world. I agree, he won't. He might tell us some but not enough to figure it out. I hate to say it Ruby but--- I have this feeling in my gut that we have to go see you're grandfather. Even if he was exiled. We can say that we're taking a vacation, go there. Even if they knew where we are going on vacation they wouldn't suspect that; that is what we're up to. It wouldn't even cross their minds I can guarantee you." Then stopped when she said something else. Waiting for her to go on.

"I don't know where he is. They don't tell us that." She whispered softly. She didn't want to continue the topic about the darkness residing in her at the moment. "The library." She whispered. "Have you ever broken into one? The vampires have one that holds all records and prophecies, the only tricky part is the public including the royals can only see a portion of it. The part we would need to see is heavily guarded." Ruby started walking to their house slowly.

Nick walked with her looking around them to make sure that they weren't being fallowed. For some reason he felt like they were being watched. But then again it could just be him still recovering. Shaking his head no when she asked if he'd ever broken into a library before. And then went on to explain how it was heavily guarded. Thinking now, as they walked on to the house. "No, humm that could be tricky... do just the vampires know about the library?" Already having a plan forming in his mind.

"Yeah, vampires are the only ones who know about the library, but if I could remember the last conversation we had. Breaking in the library would be a dangerous waste of time." Ruby sighed and stopped dead in her tracks taking in a deep breath. She didn't realize how tired she was until this moment. Everything that happened up till now was taking a big toll on her. There was no doubt Nick felt this too. "Maybe we do a need a vacation." Not to mention she couldn't remember when the last time she slept or taken any blood. Her body looked frail like it could break any moment.

Nick nodded his head tiredly as they walked. He was tired and he could sense how tired Ruby was as well. "I'll see if I can't work something out on how to break in then.. but first, I think we both need blood and a nap. Then when we wake up we can start to figure out how to break into it. And then go from there, once we do." He told her wondering when the last time she'd taken blood. He'd had some when he'd killed all those people but not nearly enough for the time he hadn't taken for. And he couldn't even remember the last time she had at all.

Ruby walked tiredly to their house. It felt like it was taking forever. "Okay," she whispered softly. Everything seemed to be lagging. She could hear Nick's blood pumping in his veins the sound was intoxicating. Her eyes widened softly as she turned to look at him. "I can't sleep, I have to make dinner for Avery." she whispered softly

Nick could tell that she was tired. And that everything was lagging for both of them. Seeing their house come into view now, at least they'd be home soon. Shaking his head slightly. "Blake can do it, he's good with Avery, and even if he is keeping secrets he wont harm Avery. He adores her to much to do anything like that. Not making dinner for her one night wont hurt anything, besides you look about ready to pass out anyways." he told her. He felt like he could pass out where as she looked the part.


Blake had gotten back to the house with Avery a little while ago, after speaking with Raven about some-- things that needed discussing. Finding Nick and Ruby still not home. Turning to Avery now, sense it was getting close to dinner time although Ruby usually made it for her. But she had already said something about getting hungry. "Wanna come help me make some dinner?"

Ruby nodded her head a little bit seeing their house in the distance. She kept telling herself to hold in her urges for blood. It was becoming harder to do. All of her instincts told her to let go, but she didn't want to. A smell of blood lingered in the air and Ruby snapped. She pushed Nick against a tree and bit down on his neck and started to suck blood. The blood gushed into her mouth she didn't want to let go.

Avery looked at Blake. "Mommy and daddy aren't home we have family dinner." she whispered softly.


Will looked as the doctors came in. "So what's wrong?" Grace fight harder He mentally said in her head hoping something could break the chain of nightmares. It's just a nightmare, change into something good, Grace

Nick hadn't expected the push. So landed against the trunk of the tree hard, feeling her bite into his neck and then start sucking blood. Wondering when the last time she'd feed was because she was sucking it like her life depended on it. It had to be what-? A week? Two? Three? Something like that by now if not longer. It didn't phrase him that she was doing this out in the open it had just come as a shock. Letting her take the blood.


Blake nodded, he knew but it would take time to fix dinner and by the time they were back hopefully it would be done. "I know, but mommy and daddy should be here shortly and I'm sure they'd like to have dinner ready when they do. So, how about we do noodles and meatballs with cheese bread?"



The doctor had run test after test after test. And still hadn't found anything, at least not for sure. And he was still waiting for a result on a poison blood draw he'd done just to make sure it wasn't that. Walking out to the waiting room to tell her boyfriend what was going on so far. "Well, I've run every test in the book, MRI, CAT, Blood draws... everything. And besides a wacky blood draw result that I can't make heads or tales of, she seems perfectly normal. I'm having a tox screen done right now as well as testing for poisons or drugs in her blood. Just in case we missed it on the blood draw. Does she have a history of-- blacking out I guess you would call it? Going into vivid dreams for an extended leight of time and not waking up? History with drugs? Has she been awake to much lately? Overworking?"




Grace was and had been fighting for what seemed like weeks to get out of this state. But knew it had to only be hours, because they were still running the tests on her. Although they were becoming further apart. Hearing Will's voice in her head, telling her that it was only a nightmare, that she had to make it something good. But how could she do that? She didn't even know what was wrong with herself or how to change it. Feeling her breathing pick up even through the haze.

Ruby pushed away from Nick quickly looking down. "We need to be going. Blake has answers that we need to get from him."This whole time she thought the war was with the werewolves and maybe it is, but the Elders are the ones that that caused everything to happen. "The elders don't let just anyone become an Elder. We know they want Avery, but they have their reason for letting Blake save me. Blake is not allowed to tell why though. He knew that voice Nick. As much as I trust Blake more than the other Elders, he is hiding things from us that can help us defeat the Elders." Ruby's only thought was defeating the Elders and making the world safe for her and Nick to grow their family.

Avery frowned. "No family dinner night. Mommy and daddy are almost home." She hissed softly. This one of the many moments that she acted like her age. "They are mad at, the vampires like you and mommy. " Avery tilted her head. "You must be like Gandalf for mommy and daddy. Daddy and I watched Lord of the Rings a lot. Mommy doesn't know that."

Will sighed. "She hasn't been sleeping much lately and has been doing a lot of work non-stop. Her friend and I told her she needs a break, but she doesn't listen to us." Will whispered softly.

(Please tell me your going to be on for a while seeing as I've been bored to death on here for the past couple of days.. and don't really feel like being bored to death yet again..))

Nick reached up and felt where she'd bitten finding it already healed. Listening as she brought up the whole not understanding why they had let Blake save her and turn her, while they knew that they needed Avery for-- something. But for what neither of them knew but they suspected Blake did but just wouldn't tell them. Sallowing down what he was thinking but then went on. "We'll talk to him see if we can get any answers out of him on why they let you live and why they need Avery. But before we do that, you need to rest, and so do I..." he told her. holding her close to him as they headed for the door of their house again.



Blake nodded saying that he wouldn't bring up making dinner again, then tlited his head when she brought up someone named 'Gandalf' he knew no one by that name. And he didn't even know of a movie called 'Lord of the Rings.' New movie maybe? He wondered. Saying "I wont tell mommy then.. whose Gandalf?"




The doctor nodded, that had to be why then. Although he still didn't have the answer to what was wrong with her. Glancing back to the way of her room. "Your welcome to go back and see her, talking to her will help. She might not be able to respond but she can still hear you.." he told him. "I'll let you know when I get the results of the other tests." He informed him then frowned when he heard shouting and saw a whole bunch of nurses running into the room.


Grace had started to hyperventilate, even in her state right now, what she saw in the nightmares was still effecting her body. So much, blood-- so much death everywhere.. everywhere she looked there was blood and death. No escape. Maybe it was just some other twisted version of what she'd been dreaming up to this point and she just had to find a way out of it.. Maybe it was a trick- she thought as she looked around at it all again. As her breathing and heart beat picked up in the outside world. Causing the meicheas and things go off that was hooked up to her.

Ruby sighed softly and looked down and shook her head. "I am fine." She paused for a moment. "We can't talk to him if we talk to him then the elders will know he told us something. Then who knows what they would do to us or him. Even worse yet Avery. There's no time for rest." she hissed pushing away from Nick and opening the door.

Avery glared at Blake for a second she wasn't going to say anything about the movies her dad and her watched together. "Mommy it's family dinner night." She ran up and hugged her mother and then her father. "I missed you two very much." Avery felt something different coming from her mother. "What's wrong with mommy daddy. Something is different about her."

Ruby laughed to brush off the comment. "The kids say the darnest things." Only Nick knew about the darkness that's the only one who she could trust all the way. "Mommy is just tired. What if you go get washed up for dinner."

Will nodded his head. "Uh doc is that supposed to be happening?" He pointed to Grace's room the heart monitor was getting very loud.

Nick smiled pretending that nothing was wrong with Ruby either to make Avery feel better. Seeing as they didn't and wouldn't worry their daughter over what they were going through. "Nothing sweet heart. Mommy's just tired is all.. why don't you go with mommy to wash up and I can start on making dinner?" He said casting a look to Ruby. hoping that she would agree to this. Seeing as he knew that they couldn't ask Blake anything more but maybe if he was lucky he'd be able to coax something out of him while he worked on dinner.


Nurses were running in and out of Grace's room. She was going into a sort of shock. But not the normal shock one was used to. Feeling her heart beat pick up and then fall just as quickly as it had picked up. And her breathing was becoming more labored as well. Hearing the nurses yelling orders at each other even in her state but knew that something was going on, all the same.


The doctor glanced back then took off, not even bothering to explain to the boyfriend what was going on. Rushing in and starting to give orders once the nurse had gotten him up to date on what they were facing. Looking to the heart monitor seeing that her heart rate was going down- lower then it should be. Before picking up as if she was running a 5K. Before it started to go down again. But this time it slowly flat lined. Grabbing the pads and demanding everyone away from her. "Clear!" Before starting to try and get her heart pumping again.

Avery shook her head no. "I'm not going anywhere with mommy. That's not mommy. That person is different."

Ruby looked at Avery her heart broke into little pieces. "Avery nothing is the wrong with me." She whispered softly. Nick knew what was going on and how important it was. "Nick why don't you go wash up with her. I'll go make dinner."

Avery shook her head no. "I'm not eating anything you make. You're not mommy. Mommy isn't like that."

Ruby just wanted to cry right now. What she was doing was going to help her make Avery's future better. Avery began chanting an enchantment to lure darkness out. All vampires were taught this when they were little to protect them from the dark vampires. Ruby took a deep breath and began fighting the darkness so it wouldn't come up. "Nothing is wrong with me Avery."

Will was confused and he stood there unsure what to say or do honestly. Everything was happening so fast it was like a dream. He walked away. He didn't do well in these kinds of situations.

Nick knew that if Avery manged to get the darkness out of Ruby-- this would be very bad. And would get even worse faster then one could say 'stop'. Leaning down to Avery, "Princess, I need you to stop.. Mommy will be okay, but I need you to stop this." Glancing nervously to Blake. Seeing as right now they couldn't afford for Ruby to get the darkness out of her when she had just learned how to control it.


After the third shock to her body her heart finally kicked back in. Letting go of a deep breath, as he he saw it go back to a normal rate. And instructed one one the nurses to give her a relaxer to clam her down. Before going out to try and find the boyfriend to explain everything that had just happened.

Ruby walked further fighting the enchantment. "See nothing is wrong with me." She said firmly and looked at her and smiled. It was becoming harder to push the darkness in. "Avery stop please I care for you and your father so so much. I'm not a dark vampire. I wouldn't risk be killed by someone. I wouldn't risk my family." That last sentence was a lie she would do risk being killed by someone in order to save her family. In order to save her daughter.

Avery stopped and bit her lip. "I guess you aren't a dark vampire. Daddy let's go get washed up for dinner." She took her father's hand and dragged him up the stairs leaving Ruby and Blake alone.

"I'm sorry about that Blake, I don't know what has gotten into Avery." She whispered softly.

Will rocked around the horrible hospital twice before he was ready to go back to Grace's room. He sat down in one of the chairs. "Please wake up already Grace."

Blake had watched the whole thing play out wondering how this would end up ending. Letting out a breath when Avery let it go and dragged Nick up the stairs. "It's alright, I've been around enough children in my time to not be surprised by some of the things they say anymore." He told her. then rushed on. "So, I was thinking we could do pasta with meatballs and cheese bread for dinner. I tried to get Avery to help me make it before the two of you got back but she didn't like the idea."



Nick let Avery drag him up the stairs glad that she had been willing to forget about the whole thinking Ruby was a dark Vampire. Taking her to the bathroom so that they could wash up before going back down.



Grace was able to still hear everything, she just couldn't respond to it. Hearing Will in the room speaking to her. Forcing herself to do something- to let him know that she was okay.... or at least that she could hear him. Letting her hand slid across the sheet, giving a slight groan out.
