Ruby looked up at him with a smile. "I wouldn't mind that." She whispered softly. Nick's low voice sent shivers down her spine. "When we are alone." She said with a giggle. "Now hurry along and do you work out so we can have that alone time with your training session today." Ruby turned to Blake. "That would be really nice of you, but you don't have to. There's going to be around twenty kids including the moms" Ruby said with a smile. "Are you sure you can handle that?"

Will nodded his head a little bit. "We have to call the meeting with your old pack today. We will be having another pack meeting tonight." He didn't like this one bit.

Twenty? That was all? Back in the day, he knew she wouldn't remember but he used to handle thirty sometimes forty at a time. Compared to that Twenty was low. Along with the moms, which could help as well. Watching as Nick headed back upstairs. "Yeah, I don't have a problem with that... plus the moms can help if they stay. It'll be no problem."


Nick smiled kissing her check then headed up the stairs to go get dressed for a run. Slipping into a pair of sweats and his running shoes. Then hoping out the window. Starting to run down the block slowly to warm up he'd gain speed as he went.


"Alright, I'll call them as soon as we're done with breakfast, where should we meet?" She asked as she finished getting dressed and went to the mirror to put her hair up.

Ruby smiled at Blake. "Okay if you say so." She said with a smile. Ruby handed Avery the waffles and smiled softly at her as she begin to eat. The council left her message on her phone saying she was going to be put on trail to see if she will lose her position as Queen. She slammed her phone down trying to control her anger. "They're putting me on trail." She hissed. "They want to give the crown to my sister. This is the least of my problems I have a war to fight. Its tonight."

Will looked up. "Neutral territory." He said. "See you at breakfast." He ran down the stairs and out the door.

Blake stood as Avery got off his lap to go sit at the table an eat her breakfast. Walking over to her side and leaning against the counter by the sink that was by the stove on the other side. "Then prove to them, that your the one worth keeping it. That your the stronger of the two of you. Prove to them that you can keep all of them together during the war. That's what they really want to know." he told her in a calming voice.


Grace wasn't far behind. Finishing with getting dressed by slipping on her shoes before running down the stairs and going out the door as well. So that she could meet him at breakfast.


Nick came back in hoping through the window an hour later, then going to the training room and lifting a total of 40 pounds of weights. He did it sometimes, while Ruby was busy or they weren't together. To keep up with lifting and stuff. Sitting up for a moment and pulling off his shirt then going back to lifting.

Ruby looked down and clenched the counter top. She could feel the power coming. "They think I'm too human. Rose is power hungry and likes being control." She hissed. "They don't like me because I defy everything they teach. They don't know who they are messing with." Ruby backed away and went to the training room and slammed the door. Nick was down here she frowned. "Nick go upstairs now." Ruby hissed she didn't want to hurt Nick. "Go now." Ruby could feel jolt of electricity going towards Nick. Tears ran down her face. "Trail tonight they want to get rid of me tonight" she snapped.

Will stood up. "If you guys need to go to town go with multiple people. Curfew will begin at 10:00 pm we will do a head count. If you do not come back your on your own"

Nick had just finished lifting his last rep. When he heard the door slam. Sitting up, then standing to go when Ruby came in fuming mad. Holding his hands up, and heading for the door. But then stopped and turned when she said that they wanted to get rid of her tonight. "We'll come up with something-- we always do." He told her. Looking back when he heard footsteps stop at the door. Seeing Blake.


Blake nodded his head to the side indicating that he should leave. Steeping aside when Nick went to leave so that he could get out. "Avery's in the kitchen finishing up... you should go be with her." He said then walked into the training room and shut the door.



Grace walked into the dinning hall, and went to stand by him while he started giving the speech about going into town. Stating that the curfew would be at 10pm. And that they'd be doing a head count and rather you were back or not you were on your own if you didn't make it back on time. Looking around and watching everyone's faces as he did.

Ruby glanced up at Blake. "I'm so angry. Why am I getting so angry?" She asked. "I'm trying really hard to stay calm and not flip out, but I don't know what's wrong with me. I just want to destroy something" Ruby shook her head. "I don't want to lose control again. I think I'm a good queen what is it going to take for them to see it?" Ruby paced back and forth. "Blake I'm fine just a little angry my daughter's sign up is today. I can't miss it." Ruby wasn't her fine her emotions were unreliable right now being so new to being an Elder.


The pack simply nodded. Will sat down and begin to eat. As did the rest of the pack. He looked over to Grace and smiled. "Grace how do you like the eggs and bacon?" He asked.

"Because, your not mad at one of us. One of the people you know, and see once in a while or on a daily basis. Your mad at the Council. People you've only been with, a few times in your lifetime. And all the visits to see them were never for good reasons. You associate them with badness. Maybe even Evilness. I don't know because I don't know your true feelings towards them.... And The Power is working against you. It's trying to get out. Half the battle in this and staying claim. Find your center. Find your peace. Block everything else around you out. And focus on that. That alone." Blake explained to her, leaning back against the door. He could tell that she wasn't fine. Her emotions weren't in check. And he could tell that all the way across the room.


Grace had sat down when he had seeing the rest of the pack sit a moment later. And beginning to eat as well. Looking over as she finished chewing a bit of egg, that she'd had in her mouth. As he asked her how she liked them and the bacon. "There really good, --" Pausing as an after taste came to her. "Do they do something to the eggs? It tastes like--- some kind of spice."

Ruby nodded her head slowly. She closed her eyes and focused on Nick and his scent. She could feel his arms wrap around her as he kissed her neck gently. Him whispering in her ears. All the anger she was feeling was diminishing slowly she smiled and she looked up at Blake. "Can I go now or no?" She asked she didn't want to miss her daughter's registration, but deep down she knew she wasn't ready to go out in the real world.

Will look at Grace. "Um we put pepper and garlic powder in it." He paused. "But you can't really taste. Is something wrong?" He asked softly.

"How do you feel?" Blake asked seeing the change and the clam come over her. But he still needed to hear how she felt. Glancing at the clock on the wall across the room. It was just going on 8:30. She still had time if she didn't think she was clam enough, seeing as he had over heard that registration was at 10.



Grace shook her head. "No, it's really good. I just didn't get the hint of garlic and pepper in it until a minute ago." She explained, looking at him. Glancing out for a moment seeing everyone enjoying their breakfast.

"I'm perfectly fine." Ruby said with a fake smile. She didn't realize that she avoiding answering the question. "I'm ready go join my family for breakfast." She was still angry, but she was just hiding it from the world. Ruby started to walk over to the door. "You can move out of the way."

Will smiled. "Okay that's great." He finished and ate his breakfast. "I'm going to be getting out the maps and start planning."

"Will who are you going to replace as your Beta?" Someone from the pack asked.

Will paused. "I don't know yet, but you nag me neither of you guys will be become my Beta."

Blake could tell that she was faking the smile. One of many things he'd learned how to prefect over the years. But still not moving. "I need to be 100% sure, that you're okay. That as soon as I move away from this door, and we walk out your not going to get mad again. And considering everything, I think it's best if I accompany you and Nick to Avery's school sign up."


Grace looked up when someone asked who he was going to pick to be his next Beta. Resting a hand softly on his arm in comfort. She knew that he wouldn't let it show on his face or let it into his voice but that he wouldn't be happy choosing a new one. Letting it slid slightly once it was done and said. Speaking quietly. "Okay, I'll go make the phone call then.. get a time and place down and then go to talk with him about it all."

Ruby looked at him. "I'm perfectly fine." She snapped. "Now let me leave." She hissed she could feel the anger rising in her again. The power liked fed into it. "I'm fine, I don't need someone watching every move I do. I'm fine." Ruby glanced down she wanted to let the power out it was eating at her. She didn't want to show that she needed help she didn't want to show weakness. After all her sister found her weakness and was using it against her. "I am fine let me go." The power started to buzz in her body again she was so close to letting the power take over her.

Will nodded. "Okay, and are you sure your feeling okay and all?" He asked. "I mean last night it was on for few seconds, but that still is enough time." He whispered quietly so no one else would hear.

"Maybe you'll be fine once you stop lying to yourself about being fine.. I can feel it coming off of you Ruby, in waves. So. Until I know that your fine, and you can handle walking back out that door--- we're staying in here and training. Seeing as lying to yourself and me. That's not going to help matters. If anything it's only going to make them worse." He told her. Leaning against the door again.

Ruby looked up at him and hissed at Blake. "Let me out." Ruby snapped at him. She sent shock waves towards him. "I'm not lying to myself. I know how I feel, but that doesn't mean you need to know how I feel." Ruby looked down tears coming down. "I know I'm not fine, but my daughter comes first. I can't miss it." She whispered softly. "I'm not good with asking for help. I push away my feelings so other people can't see them it later turned into a defense mechanism." She sighed and back away. "I don't know how to control this angry. I tried putting myself mentally in Nicks arms, but the power is feeding on the anger."




((You know how they had sex and its mating season, but it was like five minuets because of the fire interruption and he's coming to the conclusion that she might be pregant))

Blake listened then nodded. "Fine. We'll all go to sign her up. Seeing as the last thing we need is for you to become enraged there with all the humans about. Then as soon as we get back we're coming back in here and we're training." He told her. Giving no room for an argument. He'd even be okay if he got zapped, seeing as he was so old and powerful that it wouldn't even really phrase him all that much. He'd be stunned for a bit but he'd recover quickly if he did happen to get stunned at all.



"I'm sure, I feel fine actually.." She said catching what he was talking about right away responding just as quietly not wanting anyone to over hear about-- what they'd done.


(Maybe we should have them have a romantic night and all and then she gets pregnant that way they can take a break after a while of planing the war.))

Ruby looked up at him and hissed. "No I don't need a babysitter." She said. "I'm much capable of going with my family." She closed her eyes and teleported herself to kitchen. That was a new power. "Lets get you in the car." Ruby said to Avery seeing that she was in a new outfit. Avery smiled as her mother picked her up. "Nick we'll be in the car waiting for you." Ruby walked out to the car and put her daughter in the car seat. She refused to have some come and watch her like a little kid. She wasn't a little kid. Blake still had time to talk to Nick what if he told Nick that she needed to stay home? Would Nick agree?

Will nodded his head a little bit. "Okay I guess you can go call the other pack now."

Damn teleportation. He hated that, skill when new Elders that didn't have themselves under complete control used it on him to get away. Luckily though, she would only use it to get to another room in the house. Walking out hearing them already in the car. All but Nick. Walking to where he was in the bathroom slipping into some new clothes. "I need a word..."


Nick turned to Blake when he heard him come to a stop by the door. "Okay.... What is it?" He asked knowing more then likely it would be about Ruby and her or- his he supposed-- training. Listening as Blake explained what had happened. And requested to come with. Although by come with he had meant 'I'll meet you there and wont be seen unless need be.' "Fine. Keep it low key. But as soon as we get back I'll have her meet you back in the training room."

Blake nodded. "Good. I'll speak with her, about training you as well... if she is not able to though--- I would look into finding someone that can."


Nick nodded. He understood. He hadn't seen much of Ruby sense last night and slightly this morning before his run and work out. So he didn't really know how her training was going and how she was handling being a new Elder. But if it was any edcation.. it wasn't going well so far. "Alright. I'll consider it, if need be."


Blake nodded, then teleported to the school but hid himself by turning invisible.

Nick walked out to the car and got in. "Everyone ready to go?"


Grace knew that he was just worried for her safety. Just in case she had gotten pregnant but even then she wouldn't know for the next couple of weeks if she was or not. But so far she felt fine. Giving a smile, to him. Getting up seeing as she had finished. Leaning and kissing his check softly. "See you in a bit.."

Ruby looked at Nick. "Is Blake going to meet us there and be invisible? I don't need someone baby sitting my every move." Ruby said. "I can't believe you even agreed to it. I don't need help. I'm not angry or upset. I'm perfectly fine." Ruby hissed softly. "If he is there I'm not going. If I needed someone to watch me I would ask. If I didn't trust myself I would tell someone, but I trust myself and I don't need someone there."

Will nodded his head hoping the other alpha would agree to it, but he wasn't sure if he would or not.

Nick put the car in gear and started to back out. Seeing as he was the one that drove most of the time anyways. Turning to look at her when she started talking. Glancing in the back to make sure Avery wasn't paying them any mind before answering while he started driving. "Yes. I agreed to it, but I'd rather be safe then sorry. And I think we all know that you aren't quit adjusted to your new Elder powers yet. And seeing as we're going to place that is going to be crawling with humans, I'm not willing to take a chance."



Grace gave him a soft smile then went to make the call. Walking into the kitchen and picking up the phone and dialing the number. She knew it was slightly early still considering everything. But she also knew that if she called asking to meet with him he would take her call. Taking a breath as it rang. Hearing someone pick up. A Female someone. "Hi, is Justin there?"

"Well I am," Ruby said looking at him. "Take me back home now. I refuse to be treated like a little kid." She said in a low cold voice, but he was already moving the car. "I'm perfectly fine." Ruby saw that they were at the school. "Its not humans you have to worry about." Ruby slammed the door not even getting Avery out.

Avery heard her mother slammed the door, but then quickly turned her head to the playground. Seeing a bunch of kids her age playing around. "Daddy can I go play?" She asked softly. "Please." Then she notice Raven. "Auntie Raven, daddy." Pointing at Raven.

Ruby looked to her side and caught a glimpse of Raven. Ruby took a deep breath trying to control her anger.

"No he's not right now. He had to go to a business meeting." Alicia answered. She wasn't a werewolf or a vampire, but a simple human.

Nick got out and went around an got Avery out before shutting both doors. Seeing everyone over playing on the playground. "Yes, honey you can go play. Just be careful." he told her looking over when she said that Raven was here. Seeing her watching some of the kids. Turning to Ruby, "Maybe we should go say hello... just to be nice." He said.



Raven had gotten Justin up and in the car and had taken him to breakfast. Seeing as she felt bad for the kid she wanted to give him a chance to get back to some form of normalcy. Plus she hadn't wanted to cook after-- after what had happened to Derek. Looking over when she heard a car pull up and saw Ruby, Nick and Avery get out of it. Ruby didn't look happy, but at least Nick was going to let Avery come play.



She seemed nice enough at least. Grace thought. "Oh, well this is Grace calling. Female Alpha of the other clan a couple towns over, would you have him call me back once he gets out of the meeting? It's very important."

Ruby looked down hearing Nick. "No, there's a bounty on her call the patrols to take her away. Now." She hissed the power in atmosphere changed she could feel power buzzing through her. "I mean it Nick she is a traitor and deserves to be destroy." The power was starting to gain control. "I have to go." She hissed Ruby teleported back to the training room.


Avery ran to see the other kids picking on a boy with black glasses. She didn't realize he was wereolf, but she didn't really mind. "Hi my name is Avery." The other kids ran away she frowned. "I'm sorry the other kids were being rude."


Alicia laughed. "Clan alpha? Are you feeling okay. Justin never mentioned anyone named Grace before."

Blake saw her blink out. Thinking she'd gone back to the house. Blinking out as well and appearing back at the house. Well- the living room to be assact.


Nick watched as Avery walked over to the boy, and said hi. She seemed to be doing okay. And that was okay. Even if the other kids had run away because they had been picking on whoever Avery was saying hi too. Letting out a breath and walking over to Raven.


Justin smiled and straightened slightly, when someone came over and said hello. He was new, and some of the older kids had come and started picking on him. "Hi, I'm Justin."


Raven turned when she saw Nick coming over with no Ruby in sight. "I heard... Derek, he's gone. He passed away, yesterday evening. But his wolf is still with us." She said in way of greeting.


Nick nodded. "I'm sorry, if it means anything I was sort of pulling for him. Although you might want to be careful from now on.. Ruby put a bounty on your head, something about you being a traitor.. becoming a spy. I didn't really hear all of it. But then again she hasn't really been herself these past couple of days."



Grace shook her head. It was still too early for this. Seeing as with how late she'd been sleeping lately. "Sorry, Pack. Pack Alpha.. I'm not used to getting up this early yet. I'm an old friend, you could say... been out of touch sense me and my brother moved a few years ago. He'll know who I am though." She said with a smile hearing the humor in the other girl's voice.

Ruby could hear what Nick was saying like he was right there. He didn't really trust her or maybe he thought she was crazy. She took a deep shaky breath. Tears fell down her face quickly. Nick didn't trust her choices. She wasn't sure, but it felt like he was stabbing a knife in her heart. It felt like he was blaming everything this whole thing on her. Ruby looked up to see Blake there. "I heard what he said and it feels like he just stabbed me in the heart. The other night I heard what Will and Raven were talking about despite not being there." Tears kept coming down. "He obviously thinks I'm crazy and incapable of doing anything right."


Avery smiled. "Did you just move here? Today is registration day. My mommy and daddy are signing me up. I'm super excited. You should come to my play date. There's going to be food and fun games to play."

Alicia frowned. "Are you part of cult or something? Because I'm pretty sure us humans don't live in a pack. You must have the wrong number."

Blake had tracked her to the training room, walking in and seeing her in tears. Holding out his arms to her like he used to do, when she was upset about something and just needed a shoulder to cry on. "I know,-- it's going to take some time for you to learn how to block some things out. Like over hearing people talking form miles away..."


"Yeah, I just moved here.. my Aunts signing me up, seeing as my Uncle couldn't make it." Raven wasn't really his aunt but she had been around so much that he had just started calling her that.


Human? The girl she was talking to was human? What in the world?? When had Justin started letting humans answer his phones for him? And she had the right number. She knew she did. So what was a human girl answering the phone? Shaking her head. "But, Justin Ross is there? Tall, kind of on the football player size? Dark hair? Good face you could look at for hours?" Not that she would now that she had Will and never wanted anything to come between them. But she had used to have a crush on Justin a lot of years back.

Ruby crumbled in his arms and cried. "How could he say something like that. I know I haven't been the same, but I would never accuse of someone being traitor without hearing or knowing for sure. I would never purposefully kill something. He attacked me and I didn't know who he was. I didn't want to start a war." She sobbed. "How come it feels like I'm losing Nick." She whispered. "I can't lose him."


Avery smiled. "Well welcome to town." She said. "What teacher do you have?" She asked softly. "My aunt is here too, she's my mom's best friend not my real aunt." She said. "I wonder where my Uncle is. I'll be back." Ruby skipped off to Nick. "Hi Auntie Raven where is Uncle Derek. He said he was going to get me a doll house for my birthday?"

Alicia nodded. "Justin is my boyfriend, but he isn't part of whatever cult you are in. Like I said Justin would have mention a crazy ex girlfriend."

Blake held her as she cried. It felt so normal still after all the years apart. Trying his best to comfort her while she did. "He's probably just confused, and he doesn't really understand what's going on. Seeing as neither of us has had much time to explain any of this too him. ---- I know. I know,--"


Justin smiled glad that he might have a friend. Not really caring that it was a girl seeing as he had hung out with girls around his age from the pack before. Smiling as she walked off to ask something.


Raven smiled when she saw Avery skipping over to them. Kneeling down to meet her. Giving her a wide smile then falling quiet as she asked about where Derek was. She hadn't thought of what she was going to tell Avery yet. With everything else going on, and her having to take care of Justin.... it hadn't crossed her mind. He had promised her a doll house for her birthday-- now he'd never be able to give it to her. He had even complained when she had babysat Avery, but yet he had promised her a doll house. Was there something she was missing? Could that be it? She wondered then cleared her throat. "Derek-- he had to work today sweetie... "



"I'm not a crazy ex- girlfriend, I'm the sister of Justin's best friend. And like I said, this is really important. So if you would have him call me back, or transfer the call to him that would be great." Grace said. What in the world was Justin even doing letting humans answer his phones, and this was the phone number the detect one that he had given her to get in contact with him with. Unless it was a work number or something, that would explain the humans and the meeting. But if that was the case why would he have given her this one and not a number straight to the pack house?

Ruby looked up at Blake. "What is there to explain I'm an Elder and have crazy new abilities that neither of us knows about until I do it?" She frowned. "You don't think he hates me. It's well known fact that he hates Elders you don't think he hates me because I'm an Elder." She couldn't force any tears to come out any more there was just constant pain in her heart. "It hurts really bad, Blake, Nick and I have been through a lot, but it never ends up hurting this bad. I need him right now." Ruby whispered softly even thinking about Nick not wanting her was making her physically hurt.

Avery nodded and smiled. "Okay Auntie Raven, is he coming to my party. Are you guys coming to my party?" She asked softly. "Daddy mommy is upset she needs you." Avery sometimes said odd things she didn't quite know she was powerful. Avery thought she was a normal little girl expect for being a vampire. Her parents never told her any different either. "You should go see mommy, daddy." Avery skipped off back to the playground.


Alicia frowned. "Listen I don't know who you are or who you think I am, but I'm not some Secretary of his." She snapped hanging the phone up.

Blake shook his head. "No, I don't think he hates you. He might hate Elders, but I know he doesn't hate you.... Give it time. Talk with him tonight, when you have time.. explain it to him. I know, I've seen most of it. And I also know, that you two always come out in the end. You two might be beaten and bruised some but you always seem to bounce back. And that, is what I ammaure about the two of you." He told her staring at nothing really. "But once your claim and think your ready, we should train. You still have a lot to learn."



Raven let her go, not bothering to answer. She couldn't. She didn't know how. Standing back up slowly as she skipped back off to the play ground.


"Are you okay? I know how hard this must be, for you... " Nick offered, turning back once Avery was far enough out of hearing range. "I don't know,------- I know we had our hard times. But I didn't realize how much I'd miss him. How much he was a part of my daily routine. I still can't believe he's just, gone." Raven said looking at Nick but feeling dead inside.



Grace went to explain more, but then heard the dial tone. Slamming the phone back into it's holder. "Damn it!!" Damn it, damn it, damn it! He had given her a phone number for some-- some place. And she had no idea what the number was even for. And it's not like she could call his cell if he was in a meeting like the girl said. Giving the wall a kick for good measure. Before walking back in and seeing Will still there. Going and whispering "We need a word.." In his ear so that she could tell him what had happened and they could make other plans to get in contact with Justin.

Ruby nodded her head a little bit. "I'm fine." She whispered. "We should train." She snapped her fingers and was magically in training clothes trying to block out Nick and Ravens conversation. She took a deep breath and sighed. "What do you want to start with?" Ruby asked softly. Nick and her would make it through it, but hearing the conversation made her feel horrible about herself. "I'm not alright. I keep hearing what he says and it hurts." She whispered sniffing. "I want him to be back here now. I don't him there." Nick can you come home yet? "I need to do something to get my mind off it"


Will turned to Grace. "What is it?" He asked tilting his head to side. "Is something wrong?"

Nick heard thinking back to her, 'We'll be home shortly.. just give us another few minutes.' Finishing up talking to Raven at the same time to go sign Avery up. Filling out the paper work and meeting some of the teachers before going and singing the last few forms. Glad that he was done now.


Blake nodded, letting her go. Seeing her zap herself into training clothes. "I was thinking we would start with controlling the power again... but, maybe we should teach you how to block out conversations instead. That way you wont always be able to hear them without meaning too." He said thinking it over.



"Yeah, I need permission for something." Permission to go hunt Justin down and give him hell, was more like it. Why had he bothered giving her a phone number at all if he knew the person on the other line wasn't even going to bother relying the message to him if she ever needed to talk to him? Why make her sound like an idiot? So now all she could do was beg her case, to Will and hoped he would let her go.

Ruby looked at Blake. "The power." She whispered. "I think we should work on the power. That's why I came back in the first place. I was going to lose control." She sighed. "Its up to you. I just need to do something. It wants out and right now I could care less if i let out or not." Ruby whispered softly feeling ashamed for even feeling that. "Could we do something happy?" She asked softly. "I hate feeling all depressed."

Avery waved goodbye to Justin as she ran over to her father. "Daddy time to go home. Mommy is sad we should make her happy." She giggled grabbing his hand and dragging him to the car. "Time to go make mommy happy."

Will looked up at her concerned. "What do you want?" He asked softly, having a feeling that he wasn't going to like it.

Blake nodded. At least she was being honest with herself. That was one step in the right detection. Coming to a conclusion. "Very well.. then. We will work on The Power slightly, and then we'll do something fun." He said knowing she needed a distraction but she also needed to get things under control as well.


Justin waved good buy then went to Raven so that they could leave as well.


Nick smiled letting Avery drag him to the car so that they could go home. "Alright honey, lets go home. Although mommy might be training with her friend so we might have to wait a little while. We'll see when we get home"


"It would be easier if I didn't have to explain it to you, in a room full of werewolves.." She said hinting that she really did need a word. A long word.

Ruby nodded her head. "So what do we start with?" She asked softly looking up at him. Waiting for what he was going to tell her to do so she could do it. "It feeds on emotions doesn't it? So if I'm happy or angry it will play off it to magnify it. Since I'm sad it's going to make me really sad?" She said coming to that conclusion. "Basically I have to come to balance point where the power and I co-exist together?" Asking softly with a smile.

Avery giggled sitting her car seat. "Mommy is going to be so happy to see you and me." She said looking up at him. "Daddy are you upset at Mommy?" Avery was good at reading on feelings among many other things.

Will sighed. "Before you ask me. Do I really want to know? I think maybe you should go and do whatever it is then tell me. Easier to forgive then to ask permission. So just go ahead and be safe."

Blake nodded. "Yes. That's exactly what it does. It plays off of whatever your feelings are at that moment. And what we need to do is try to find a point in which you and it balance, and can co-exist. Just like you said."


Nick smiled. "No, honey I'm not mad at mommy. Why do you think I am?" he asked wanting to know. She was very good at picking up on things. Even when neither one of them meant her too.


He did have a point.. it would be easier on both of them if she just went and did it. Then arguing on rather or not she should go for the next hour. Giving a slight nod. "Alright, see you when I get back then." She told him, placing a soft kiss on his forehead then heading for the door.

Ruby looked at Blake and nodded. "And how do we do that?" She asked. Talking about the power made her jittery she started to walk around the training room. "Talking about it makes me want to let out. It feels like a puppy that I have been ignoring." The power was hitting her with waves. "Blake what do I do?" She asked. "I don't want to let it out, I don't want to lose control

Avery looked up at him tilting her head. "Because you seem scared and confused. Upset even a bit of anger because your afraid." Frowning a little bit. "I don't know why your afraid. Mommy thinks you hate her or afraid of her. She thinks your losing you." Pausing for a second. "You and mommy aren't going to leave each other. I don't want you guys to be upset."


Will smiled and nodded. Hoping she would be back before curfew.

Blake watched as she walked back and forth across the room. Starting to do the same, he couldn't stand still for a long time. He was one of those people that had to keep moving when he could. "Well, I suppose we could start with a series of pictures. ... I would think something, past, future, or present and project it into your mind. Then I would regard your reaction to that, once you told me how it made you feel. Then we'd have to work on finding that balance." He explained to her. It was the most basic and most simple way of handling this stage. Once they found that balance, then they could work on getting them to co-exist.



Nick pulled up to a red light. They were almost home. Which was good. "Oh, no sweetie... Mommy and me aren't going anywhere. We're going to leave each other." He told her then pulled away from the light.


Once Grace reached the woods she shifted. It would be the fastest way of getting to where she needed to go, without traffic or anything else slowing her down. She just hoped that she could reach Justin without too much trouble. She thought taking off at a dead run.

Ruby looked at him and nodded her head she sat down on the training room floor. She closed her eyes and focused on finding a picture not caring what it was. The first image that popped in her head was something from a past. Her eyes glared at Nick who was stabbing her. Ruby's face paled as she felt her body go lifless. The words 'You're a monster now' echoed her head she felt betrayal and hurt. Ruby could feel tears falling down her face she quickly opened her eyes looking around seeing she was still in a training room still. "It made me feel betrayed and hurt." Her voice was shaky. "It felt really real like it was currently happening to me, but it wasn't. It was something from the past."


Avery nodded sensing her mother's hurt. "Daddy mommy is upset it feels like something happened." She couldn't tell what was bothering her mother she didn't know it was just a vision she saw."Daddy everything is going to be alright?"

Blake nodding glad that she was able to recognize past events as well as the present. Going and sitting down across from her. "It was. I'm glad that your able to recall what the past ones are, seeing as if you were not it would make things slightly--- difficult." Nodding at her response of hurt and betrayal. "Good. Let's try another." he said closing his eyes and this time picking a happy memory. This time of the closer past.


"It's okay, sweetheart. We're almost home, then we can see what's got mommy upset." He told her, turning down their street and passing a couple houses.

Ruby nodded her head. She closed her eyes and saw her and Nick's first kiss. She was trying to make the cheerleader girl jealous and worked, but she also realized that she really liked Nick. She could feel his lips on hers. "The moment I realized that I really liked Nick" she said with a smile. "Then a month later he got shot with an arrow that was supposed to be for me. I realized then I couldn't live without him." Ruby said looking up at Blake. "I was really happy and it was the first time that I ever felt that much hope."


Avery nodded seeing they were arriving home. She ran to the door, but she wasn't quite tall enough to open it.

Ruby heard a car door shut. Nick and Avery were home. "Avery is really good at feelings. She can sense feelings from miles away. She's very smart even for a vampire her age." Ruby whispered.

Blake had heard the door as well. Smiling when she told him how she had felt. Hope, happiness.... good things. Nodding. Maybe they should inform Nick on what they where doing this time so that he could explain it some to Avery. "Ah yes... She'll be worried about you then. Maybe we should take a quick break so that you can see Avery and Nick before we start again. Or would you rather keep going?"


Nick got out, locking the car as he walked to the door, and unlocked it before letting Avery inside. Feeling Ruby was in the training room again.



Grace ran. And ran. Until she reached the border that separated the two packs from each other. Stopping just short of crossing it, not wanting to , if she didn't have too. Projecting her thoughts. 'Justin Ross.... where are you...?'

Ruby looked at him. "I'm going to go up." She said softly. "I'll be back" She blinked into the living room. "We were just doing a training exercise." Ruby said looking at Nick. Avery ran and hugged her. She smiled softly and picked her up. Is everything ok between us? It just seems like we have been distant lately. Looking at him. It feels like I'm losing you

Avery smiled and giggled as her mother picked her up. "I'm glad your okay mommy."


'In a meeting Alicia texted me explaining. I'm busy trying to protect the pack. There's rumors floating around about a new Elder and that whoever it is will be the strongest one yet' Justin said mentally shifting his position in his chair. Listen Alicia is my girlfriend and she doesn't know about this kind of things.

Nick hadn't really known what to think of when Avery told him how Ruby was feeling on the way inside. Giving them both a smile as he saw her blink in, and pick up there daughter. Thinking when she explained what was going on. But just doing it a moment. Before answering. 'yeah, we're okay.. your not. I'm not going anywhere,'


Blake nodded and then waited for her to come back which he knew could be a while. Getting up and going to the weights deciding to lift a few while he waited for her.


Ah, so that explained.. sort of. At least it explained the part of her not understanding any of the 'Pack' or 'Clan' talk. Why he had a human girlfriend was a whole nother' ballpark of questions. Letting the girlfriend and human thing drop, at least until they meet up. 'Look, we need to get together. Have a meeting.... Just the two of us, on neutral grounds. When can you get away so that we can talk? It's important unless she didn't bother telling you that.' She thought to him, hoping he would agree and they could do it soon.

Ruby looked up at Nick as he said this something inside of her told her that it wasn't true. I wish I could believe that. Ruby looked down and faked a smile at Avery. "Let's get you down for your nap." She blinked to Avery's room and set her down for her nap. Avery fell right to sleep she smiled softly and blinked to the training room not given Nick a chance to explain. "Lets get back to training" She whispered softly. Nick you were talking about me with Raven like you don't believe me when I said she's spying on us. You act like I wanted to start a war or something. You are acting like I wanted to kill the werewolf for the heck of it. Ruby thought angrily to him. It feels like you think that I'm crazy and some sort of monster "I told him how I feel Blake, he has put up with my how I act for so long and I'm really worried that he will get angry at me. He has a right to be angry at me. I act horrible and like a brat sometimes. I get super depressed and always feel like I'm losing him all the time. There's gut feeling that I'm going to lose him. I don't know if it's part of my past or what. He can only put up so much of how I act before he explodes." Tears rolled down her cheeks. "Am I crazy Blake for feeling this way?"

Justin sighed a little bit. Listen Grace, I don't like the attitude you're having towards my girlfriend. She told me what you said despite thinking your nut case. I will have meeting with you when I can, but I have to worry about my pack and protecting my girlfriend before worrying about the problems of your pack.

Blake stood as he saw her pop back into the training room. Standing from the weight lifting and walking over. Thinking about her words. It could be that part of her past-- all their shared past lives was coming to her. Just not in sight but in feeling. Although then again, they all had there breaking point. "Let him think on it... see how things go once he comes to talk to you. No.... your not crazy. We all feel this way at one point. Yours is just here sooner then most." He told her.


Nick sat down on the coach, with a glass of whisky and thought. Thought strongly about Strawberries words. About how she felt, how she thought she was loosing him.. Everything.


Grace growled. Did he really not know about the coming war or was he just more worried about his own pack that he couldn't hear the worry and frantic in her own voice. Just when they needed him the most--- he was pushing this whole thing off as if it was nothing but a simple coffee date. And that was pissing her off even more. What was even wrong with her? She didn't get this pissed this fast. Not even annoyed this fast either.. but she had on the phone and now she was again with Justin. Letting out a frustrated breath that puffed in the air. ' Sorry... I'm just worried and pardoned I guess. Look, I'm not asking for a damn coffee date Justin. But neither of us will have much of a pack to protect if we can't meet and soon, seeing as there's going to be a war with the vampires. And soon...." She said, saying the last part softer not wanting to tell him this way about Derek and what had happened. Liking her lips wondering if he could still sense her feelings or not.

Ruby looked up at Blake and frowned. "He's drinking whiskey." She whispered falling to her knees. "I'm driving him to drink. Nick rarely ever drinks and he's drinking because of me." Ruby looked down again. "I drive away everyone and Nick's different he stays with me after everything he stays. He's so good too me and I'm horrible to him. I just wish he would hurry up and be done thinking." Its just like me to drive away the people who cares about me. Nick is the best thing that ever happened to me and I ruined it She thought mostly to herself, but she knew Nick would hear it. He's at his breaking point and I push it him over and over again. " I just have this gut feeling that I'm going to have to earn him back." She sighed some."Blake I'm sorry you didn't come here to listen to my relationship problems. I need to start lunch." She blinked to the kitchen.

"Nick is there anything particular you want for lunch?" Ruby asked softly. "I was going to make hoagies for Avery, but just wanted to see what you want." Ruby was trying to break the ice between him.



Justin was getting angry now. I understand there is a war coming. I'm trying to prepare my pack to up against this new Elder. I'm in a meeting with the pack. I'm not saying you want a date. You're not part of this pack anymore. You're not my priority. I will have meeting with you, but until I make sure my pack is safe. I will not help out your pack. You should understand that more anyone since you are the Alpha. Your pack comes before anyone elses

Blake walked to the kitchen, just in case... Plus he could stand lunch too. Although he would make his own so that there wouldn't be any more work or worry put on Ruby. He couldn't say that he blamed her for confessing all her relationship problems to him. It was just something she'd always done, rather she knew it or not. He had always been the person she had come to talk to about problems like that. Walking to the fridge and digging around.


"No, that's okay. Hoagies are fine, you want me to come cut up fruit or anything while you make them?" He offered. He was only sipping the whiskey. He didn't drink very often but he had just really needed a drink. To get lost if just a little for a bit while he thought.



Grace couldn't help the slight growl that came unexpectedly from her mouth. She needed to get back, clear her head.. start planning for a back up plan . Just in case he decided it wasn't worth having a meeting with her. Taking a deep calming breath before answering him, hearing the anger in his voice even if he didn't mean to let it come through. 'Fine. You know where to find me, and the number when your ready.'

Ruby nodded. "Yeah cutting fruit would be nice." She took a deep breath she could feel an anxiety attack coming on. Trying to shake it off. Ruby started to get all the things she needed out of the fridge to make the hoagies. Her arms were a little shaky. She reached for a glass of blood, but it crashed on the floor. She jumped back"Ops um it is okay. I will clean this up." Ruby filled up a bucket of hot water and soap to she started to clean up the blood. She didn't want to break down in front of Nick. "I'm fine just a little shaken up it falling." She faked a smile hoping Nick would believer her. He was still thinking about what she said and Ruby didn't want to push him into coming to talk to her.

Justin shook his head. He thought she would understand the fact that his pack came first then anyone elses. If the rumors were true about the new Elder being powerful his pack had to be prepared before he could help anyone else.

Nick had gone to start cutting it up sitting his glass up high on one of the counters so that when Avery came down she couldn't get it. When he heard the glass break. Turning to look to see what had happened. Walking over to her, "Go sit down, relax... I'll clean it up. Start on lunch." He told her reaching out to take the mop from her hands.


Blake frowned slightly seeing how shaken she was. Not at the fact that the glass had broken. But she was worried about Nick and what was going through his head. Stopping as he made his own sandwich to walk over as well. Speaking low to her, "It'll be okay,-- let him take care of the mess." Trying to comfort her.


Grace understood where Justin had been coming from seeing as she knew that the pack came first. But that had been their first idea. That if they could get his pack and theirs to work together... then they might stand a chance. And at least he hadn't shot down the idea and it was still better then him turning down the whole meeting all together. But she didn't understand why she felt so--- upset. Angry even. Yeah Derek died yesterday in some sense, but it wasn't even that. She missed him tarbily already but, she had Will and the rest of the pack to help her deal with her graving. So why was she so angry and parionied?
