"Okay-- I just wanted you to know that I was awake. And the doctors say I should make a full recovery, an should be able to get out soon." He said not wanting to worry her anymore, knowing that if he did she'd just get more upset with him. About nothing. "Hey,-- before you go. Will you make sure to tell Avery, I miss her and love her?" He asked softly almost afraid of what her answer would be.

"She doesn't need a guy in her life." Ruby said. "She needs to know guys are mistakes and they will rip your heart out every chance you get and watch you suffer." Looking down slowly. "It doesn't matter if you're a human or a vampire a guy is no good no matter what. I don't need love in my life. If you want to see your daughter come here and take her. I don't care love is only a weakness that go me no where."

Surely she couldn't mean all of that.... he thought but didn't say it. Knowing that it would only lead to a bigger mess in the end. He had learned that the hard way the first time around. Simply just nodding his head even though she wouldn't be able to see it through the phone. And also if she really believed that, she wouldn't still care about Avery as much as it sounded like she did, even if she was upset and hurt and yelling at their daughter for nothing that she did or understood. Seeing as love- their love- had made Avery, and it had helped bring their daughter into this world. Plus a whole lot more that he couldn't think of at the moment. Swallowing before going on. "Well--- I just wanted to let you know that I'm awake. And as soon as I'm able I'll come see both of you."

"I don't care Nick." Ruby said coldly. She looked up at her closet. "I don't love you." She was quickly snapping their connection. "I'm done with you." A loud bang came from the room she felt someone snap her neck as the phone dropped on the ground. Avery was crying loudly as a strange person picked her up.

"Dada." Avery whined.

Nick had heard her say that he meant nothing to her anymore. And that she was done with him. He had even felt when she had tried to break the link between them, but something hadn't gone right.. and it hadn't. Now he heard only his daughter in the back ground calling for him, while there was no sign that Ruby was still there on the line. Had she passed out from trying to break it? Had something else happened. "Hey, you still there?" He asked unsure on what he should do. "Hello? Hello??"

One of the guys sighed realizing that they were going to have to change up the plan a little bit. He stuck a needle in Ruby's neck. He quickly undressed her and put her in a big coat. Lewis picked up her limp body and walked out of their house while Aaron had the child. As they came to an ally way they inserted another needle into Ruby's neck. The serum in the needle was going to deteriorate her mind to a point where she wouldn't be able to return from. Nick's car wreck and coma were planned to the very last detail. They quickly sped off leaving Ruby alone in the ally alone. The elders officially had taken Avery away from them.

Nick knew something was wrong. And it wasn't just the fact that he no longer heard Avery's cries. Something had happened to both of his girls. Slamming the phone back into it's holder, and starting to get up off the bed. Not caring that the nurse was in the room and that he hadn't been discharged yet. Something had happened-- something bad- to them because he hadn't been there to protect them like he had promised he would be. Rushing over and getting his clothes on. Only telling the nurse that he'd be fine but that he had to go. And go now. Before rushing out of the room and towards the door.

Ruby opened her eyes confused on where she was or even who she was. She shivered a little bit curling into the coat that she had on. A loud noise came from the road as cars rushed by she immediately flinched back. She bent her knees to her chest in the hopes of making herself look smaller. It was freezing outside and she couldn't warm.

It took twenty minutes to dry to their house. And once he was there he didn't even bother stopping at the door to knock, he just walked in. Hearing no one in the house, Starting to panic. Running back outside hoping that it would shed some light on what was going on. Fallowing her sent.. he'd caught it almost as soon as he'd walked outside again. But there was one missing. Avery's. Avery's sent wasn't there. Only Ruby's was. Tracking her to the ally a little ways from their house. Heading down the allyway to see if he was right.

Ruby heard a noise and coward into the corner. Hoping whatever it was wouldn't come after her. She held her breath not making a sound. Whatever was out there was coming closer to her. Squeezing her eyes shut shaking like she just been scared out of her mind. It didn't occur to her look at thing coming towards her or try to make a run for it.

Nick stopped when he saw her couched in the corner of the Ally. Walking over and slowly touching her arm not knowing how she'd react to him. Seeing as they hadn't ended the call on the best of terms. "Hey,---"

She quickly flinched away. Ruby wasn't sure who this guy was. She lifted her head up. She coward away like he was going to hurt her. At this point, she wasn't sure how to communicate with him or anyone really. Her body shivered some.

Nick noticed right away that she had no idea who he was. Even though they'd just spoken less than 30 minutes ago. Holding up his hands as if to show her to he meant her no harm and all he wanted to do was help her. "I'm not going to hurt you..." He told her clearly so that she could understand him. Looking over her to see if she had been hurt anywhere and he'd have to heal her. Even though he wasn't fully back to himself he'd still take that chance to heal her if need be.

Ruby lifted her up a little bit. Tears rang in her eyes. She was still very terrified of this person talking to her. She just kept quiet not saying a word. Her body language spoke louder then any words could.

Nick bit his lip unsure how to go about this all now. Seeing as she seemed not only to not know who he was, it also seemed as if she wasn't understanding what he was saying to her. Wondering if he brought Avery up if she would respond to that..... Avery. Where was Avery? He hadn't sensed her or seen her in the house, and she wasn't with Ruby. Where the hell was she?? "Hey-- Do you remember who Avery is?" He asked quietly.

Ruby didn't know why this guy was talking to her. She curled back into the corner. She didn't even know who this Avery person was. Was she suppose to know her? The coat wasn't warmed enough for just a coat. She shivered some more. All she wanted now was to be warm and cozy.

Will sighed a little bit Grace was busy looking for a job which is what he should be doing. He couldn't bring himself to do that yet. He opened up a little case and notice his serums were missing. He kept them for emergencies. He picked up his phone. "Raven t the serums I have are missing. This isn't good if the wrong hands got werewolf serums no telling what danger it could bring to people." Raven was the only who knew about them.

It didn't appear that she remembered who Avery was. Seeing her shiver yet again. pealing out of his jacket and then covering her with it hoping that it would warm her just a bit that she would quit shivering so much. Trying to come up with another thing she might remember, seeing as she didn't seem to remember their daughter or even him.

Ruby still shivered again. This person was waisting her time. She wasn't going to speak to him. She just was really cold and all she wanted was to be warm again. All he seemed to care about was asking questions. Never in her whole life did she seen this guy why would he be coming up to her and asking questions. She coward again hoping he would just leave her alone.

Nick didn't know what else to do in order to get through to her. But maybe-- just maybe. If he offered her to go someplace warm she would possibly start talking. "How about this-- there's a a place not to far away that I share with someone. You seem pretty cold, and all. Why don't you come with me and warm up for a bit before we talk or anything. Okay?" He asked hoping at least that might get through to her.



Grace sighed as she scanned through the internet. She had been job searching for weeks now. And every time that she had thought that she would get the job, or an interview at least, nothing came of it. And when she was lucky enough to get an interview she never got a call back. Hearing Will a few rooms over talking on the phone to someone about something. Beginning to type up her resume yet again.

Ruby bit her lip nodding her head a little bit. She wasn't even sure how to talk or form the words. All she knew was that something was keeping her from talking to this person and she didn't know what. If he was going to provide a warm place for her. Inside she smiled as she was eagerly awaiting a warm place.

Will sighed waiting for Raven to answer. "Please tell me what I should do about this? Should I warn everyone then go from there?" He asked.

Nick nodded glad that at least something had finally gotten through to her. Holding his hand out for her to take that way he could take her back to the house so that she would be able to warm up. Once she had he helped her up and started back the way he had come from. Knowing the house wasn't that far away. It might take a while seeing as she was so shaky and all but they would make it.


Raven hadn't known how to answer right away. Seeing as no one knew about them besides Will and herself. He had told her that even Grace didn't know about them. So she had promised him that she wouldn't tell anyone. Not that she had anyone to tell. Well she could of told Derek but she hadn't. " I guess that's one way.. and probably the safest one. But I could always try and see if I can track them down. Find any info on who might of took them." She offered as she looked over her shoulder to make sure Derek wasn't listening in on what she was saying.

Ruby avoided his hand. She felt her knees giving out. She held onto the big coat that was covering up her whole entire body. Tears ran down her face. People were staring at her or at least she thought they were. She wanted to go hide somewhere. Then a loud ringing noise was coming from this guy. Ruby automatically jumped back afraid of it.

Will nodded. "Okay I'm going to call Nick really quick and then tell Grace. I'll call you back in about 20." He said. Hanging up and then dialing Nick. "Hey Nick, this is Will we have a little problem. I kept some Serum X which does a total mind wipe and I'm missing all of it. If it's in the wrong hands then this could be disastrous."

Nick jumped when he felt his phone start going off and then it burst into the song he had picked as his ringtone. Jerking it out of his pocket and answering it. Not even taking the time to look to see who it was. Hearing Will's voice on the other end of the line. Saying that the Serum X that he'd had-- which he wasn't even going to ask why he had it- was all gone. Looking over Ruby again when he heard that the stuff could do a total mind wipe. As in poof. All gone memory. That would explain what was going on with Ruby and why she didn't remember him or their daughter. Frowning. "And uh-- what excatelly are the side effects of this Serum X? Who else knew that you had it?"

"Serum X is a serum that wipes the mind. Werewolves use it to control them. It detoriates the mind to no return. The person probably won't talk and would have major trust issues.No one knew, but Raven. There really isn't a way to fix this." Will said. "Why are you are asking?" He asked.

That only made Nick more worried as soon as he explained what the Serum could do and what the side effects of the drug could do. Knowing that even if Raven did like Grace and wasn't even crazy about Will anymore. Even though he hadn't heard from her in a while now... he knew she'd never tell anyone seeing as she would know the risks of people-- or anyone getting their hands on it. "How about Vampires? What would the Serum do to them? The same thing as it would Werewolves or would they react differently to it?"



Raven had hung up the phone when Will had told her that he'd get back to her in 20 or so. Going back and sitting back down next to Derek. Looking over at him but knowing even if she wanted to she couldn't tell him what the call had been about. Sure she could tell him it was Will but other than that she couldn't say anything. "Sorry-- you were saying?"

"They would probably need a higher dosage. The problem they don't just don't do it for fun. They have a way to fill the person's head with nonsense. Nick again why are you asking this?" Will said.

Ruby looked at this person and quickly ran back to the cold ally. She didn't know this person. Tears ran down her face. She was afraid and confused. Someone would come and help her.

Derek sighed. "Nothing now. It doesn't matter what I was going to say. So who was on the phone?" He asked.

Nick had gone to tell Will what all the questions were about and why he was asking. But stopped when he saw Ruby run out the door, most likely back to the ally. Heading out after her, explaining as he went. "I think who ever stole it somehow shot Ruby up with it, seeing as she's not acting like herself. And she has all the signs of the Serum. And Avery's missing. So who ever gave it to Ruby also kidnapped Avery as well."


Raven frowned when he said that it wasn't anything now, even though it had sounded important when he had started to tell her before the phone had rang. "It was Will, something happened and he wanted some advice on what to do."

"Okay let me call Raven and we'll be right over. Don't let her out of her sight. She can be easily molded into anything anyone would want it to be." Will said. "Be there soon." Will redialed Raven. "Hey the Elders got the serum" He whispered.


Ruby let tears rolled down her face as she hid behind a dumpster. Not moving and holding her breath. Hoping this guy wouldn't find her.


Derek heard the phone rang. "Go ahead take it."

Nick told him that he'd do his best to try and handle it until they got there. But first he needed to find her first. Which was a little difficult due to the serum being in her. But he somehow found her behind a dumpster. Walking over and kneeling not to close to her studying her. Before saying "Come on, I'm sorry the phone scared you. But I really do want to help you..."


Raven frowned again when the phone rang, and he told her to get it even though he didn't sound happy about it. Letting loss of a breath before answering. "Hello?"

Ruby backed away further behind the dumpster. She was clearly frightened by him. Deciding to go about her business she grabbed some cardboard and made herself a little bed curling into a ball and falling asleep. Ruby was acting like this person wasn't even there. Her body shivered against the cold cardboard bed. Maybe something would get better.

"Raven, meet me at Nick's the elders got ahold of the serum. They took Avery and used the serum on Ruby." Will whispered lightly.

Nick sighed, sitting down and waiting for her to fall asleep. Hearing her breathing change a little while later, getting up and moving the cardboard box out of the way before scooping her up gently into his arms and carrying her back towards the house. It would be better than staying out here in the cold, even though she was a vampire and she wouldn't get sick as easily. But still, it would still be better if she was in the house, and he could keep an eye on her. Making sure not to move her too much so that she didn't wake up and start freaking out when she found out he was carrying her. Not that she wouldn't when she woke and found herself in the house again.



Grace sighed as she finished up with her latest form she was sending in to hopefully get a responds back so that she could get a job. But after hours of looking for possible jobs, and sending in countless job apps. Her eyes had gotten tired and she needed a break. Hearing Will on the phone again, peaking her head in and saying "Everything okay?" Seeing as she had heard him make a couple of calls already.


Raven, knew that things were-- strained between Derek and her. And leaving now would only make things worse. But things wouldn't be as bad as the Elders having Avery and what they had done to Ruby as well... She knew what that Serum could do to Werewolves. She couldn't imagine what it would do to a vampire. Running a hand through her hair in frustration. Letting go of a deep sigh. "Okay, give me-- 30 or so minutes. I'll meet you there."

"This can't wait. I know you're having relationship troubles, but this is important. Please hurry" Will turned to see Grace. "Everything is fine just some business." Will hadn't been the same since coming back from the pack. He didn't want to worry Grace. "I have to go I'll see you in a bit."

Ruby curled into Nick. She looked so helpless and frail. She heard crying a mother and her child were walking past them. She opened her eyes quickly. It felt like she was missing something. Then she noticed that she was in his arms. She tried to struggled her way out of his arms. However,she was too weak.

Nick looked up when he heard the child crying, and saw the mother trying to comfort the upset child. Wondering momentary if the sound was causing Strawberry to recall anything about their daughter or anything else. Seeing as it reminded him so much of Avery being upset and Ruby soothing Avery when she was. Shaking off the thought as they got closer to the house and further from the upset child and the mother. Shifting her weight when he reached the door, opening it before walking in. "Shhh..." He tried comforting her as he placed her softly on the coach, like he had done when he had gotten ride of her memories and had told her that she was the babysitter.


"Fine, see you in a couple then.." She said not liking the fact that she would have to leave Derek knowing that they were having so many--- problems at the moment and she couldn't do anything to fix them or start to work on them before she left. Sighing and hanging up the phone, walking back over and sitting next to Derek. "I'm so sorry, but can we talk about this when I get back?"


Grace had noticed some changes in Will sense they had gotten back. First it hadn't been that noticeable. Just little things that she had chosen to over look. Thinking that it was nothing. That he just needed time to adjust back to their life they now shared. But as the weeks went on, and everything... it had shown up more. And she couldn't ignore it any longer. She had tried to talk to him but every time she tired to she couldn't find the words to do so. "Okay,--- see you when you get back."

Tears rolled down her cheeks. She didn't say anything. She felt herself calming down. Ruby looked around this place. It was huge and really messy. The couch was comfortable as she curled into it a little bit. The crying was still echoing in her head and it was unnerving. A stuff elephant caught her eye. Something was missing. She picked it up letting it dropped back down.

Derek nodded his head. "Okay see you later,"he whispered. He got up and walked away. He couldn't believe she was leaving again, but he didn't say anything.

Will nodded. He didn't tell Grace about the problem at hand about which was what he said he was going to do. Grace was extremely supportive, but sometimes he felt better alone.

Nick saw that she was at least somewhat comfortable. And that was good. At least she wasn't panicking and all like he had thought she would once they got inside. But maybe being awake for the walk here had helped. Seeing her pick up Avery's little stuffed elephant. She must be missing it something horrible right now. Having no idea what was going on, or who the people were who took her... Running his hands through his hair in distress. For worry of his daughters safety. And also for Ruby as well.


Raven didn't want to go, she wanted to stay and work things out between them. Tell him what was really going on, and why she was always leaving to take care of things. That more than anything else was what was causing the trouble between them. And she didn't like it. Letting go of a breath before going and getting her purse and jacket on, seeing as it had gotten chilly again as the day had gone on. "You want me to pick up dinner on the way home or ...?" She asked as she headed for the door.


Grace knew that she shouldn't be as worried as she was when he left. Seeing as it was only work. But--- something was nagging at her. Waaay back in the back of her mind. She'd make sure to talk to him tonight once he got back, she decided as the door closed.

Ruby gulped, she didn't want to be here with him. All she wanted was to be anywhere, but here. Why was he staring at her? Why couldn't he leave her alone?

"No its fine." Derek said coldy.

Nick had manged to get her back to the house an in a somewhat clam state. At least until Will and Raven showed up that was... He thought, as he looked around the room knowing that he had be to creeping her out just looking at her the way he was.


Raven felt bad, about the way she had just up an left-- again. This was getting redciouls. Every time something came up and they were about to talk about an make it better she got called out, an had to leave without them finishing their talk. Maybe she'd pick something up on the way home for him. As a 'I'm sorry I'm always running out and really want to make things right' gift. She thought as she started dashing down the streets and towards Nick and Ruby's house.
