Ruby's body didn't even flinched she could feel it go limp. Forcing her eyes open looking around. "Nick am I going to die?" She felt a lot better than she did, but still felt really weak. She was fighting it not because she thought her and Nick had a chance, but because Avery for some reason Avery needed her. "Your my prince charming aren't you?" She asked tiredly. "And Avery is my little princess. I don't know why I like you so much and want you so much." She was rambling.

Well he guessed that was one way of looking at it. Going over and sitting down on the coffee table like he had done earlier this morning when she had woken up. "yeah, we're something like that. No your not going to die. Your going to be okay now. How do you feel?"

"Tired and it still hurts a little bit." Smiling faintly. "You smell really good." Yawning some. "Why did they want Avery? And who is the Queen?" Her eyes were closing. "How come you moved so fast" Ruby was soon asleep peacefully. She slept throughout the night. Opening her eyes to find herself in the room she was yesterday. Everything was a little confusing.

At least she'd be okay and live, he thought as he saw her fall asleep again. Already starting to think of the way he could tell her what happened when she woke up again. Seeing as she would be asking questions again.

Nick had gone back to check on her, seeing as he knew that she'd be out for a while. But hadn't traveled far from her side even when she'd been sleeping and resting. Seeing as as he had to get rid of the arrow he had pulled from her chest. And by some amazing mircal he had finally gotten Avery to calm down and stop crying. Even though she was still downstairs with them she had fallen asleep and was taking a nap. Sitting down on the edge of the coffee table as she asked what was going on. Letting out a deep breath. "What do you remember?"

"I remember someone coming to take Avery away. And something about a Queen. Then you walking really fast. Then that nasty cold drink that would taste really good warm." She said. Ruby sat up softly. "Then the arrow. You were my prince who saved me. I'm still really confused about everything." Her eyes drifted to Avery. "Is my I mean your baby girl okay."

"Yeah, Avery's okay.. they didn't come for her. Try not to worry too much about all of it okay? Avery's okay, and you will be too after a few more hours of rest. Do you want anything right now?" He asked not wanting to tell her about everything and what it really meant. Seeing as he wasn't willing to give up yet on their happily ever after. Even if it did have some rough patches along the way. He'd tell her about it if she started remembering things other than what just happened. Until then he didn't want to cause her yet more pain.

"Maybe we should call the cops? They can stop whoever is after her. Avery has to be okay nothing can happen to her." She was really worried about Avery."I want that stuff warm though. Is there a way for me to get it fresh and warm?" Ruby asked softly she knew Nick was hiding something from her.

"Nothing will happen to Avery... I'll protect her, and you. I don't know if the cops can do much good, seeing as he was in and out so fast I don't really know how much detail we could give them.... I mean I guess we could call and let them know what happened. Just so they'll know to be on a look out for anything." He said getting up to go get her some blood, deciding he'd mix it with some hot chocolate. That way it would be hot--- and sort of fresh.

She nodded her head some. "Okay. Nick wait I smell that stuff coming off you. And it smells so good. I just want a little bit of it." Her mind was drifting a little bit to her vampire senses. Ruby looked up at him she didn't know what was happening all she wanted was his blood. "Avery has to be okay Nick."

"I know, and she will be.. they didn't even touch her. I swear. And I wont let them touch her or you as long as I'm around." He told her holding out his hand to her so that she could take some if she wanted too.

Ruby looked at the vein pumping in his neck then the vein pumping in wrist. Something came through her gums like it was naturally. She wasn't sure what was happening. Biting down on his wrist softly as she started to feed. She pulled his wrist closer to her not realizing what was happening. "So good." She whispered.

It didn't hurt when she bit into his wrist although she would most likely have questions after she pulled away. Steeping a steep closer so that she didn't have to reach so far. Letting her drink from him.

Ruby felt the warm taste of blood rush down her throat. She didn't know how to stop. She didn't want to stop. Something told her to stop like she was almost done with him. Frowning as the blood wasn't coming as fast as it was. Her inner predator told her to finish it off.

Nick had almost lost all feeling in his body. And he hadn't really thought that she would take so much, that at some point she would realize what she was doing and just... stop. But that hadn't happened. Instead she had kept going and going. And now because he hadn't stopped her sooner he was almost drained of all his own blood. Unknowing if he'd somehow come back because he was a vampire himself. But he doubted that he would. Seeing as even his kind needed blood to flow through their veins in order to live. "Ruby--- stop."

Ruby pullee away looking at Nick. Did she do something wrong? Her eyes widened. "I almost killed you." She said looking down. "I'm a monster." She whispered shaikly. "I'm so sorry Nick I didn't mean to it just smell good." She cut her wrist a little. "Please if this will help correct the wrong I did." Her eyes sparkled with fear, but helping him was good.

Nick heard what she was saying kneeling down and taking her wrist that she was offering him. Biting into it softly and taking some of her blood. After a few minutes pulling away seeing as it would get into his system and it would help heal him. Plus he would also need a blood bag too. "Thank you... your not a monster."

Ruby stared horror in her eyes. "Then what am I? I almost killed you." She sais softly. "What did you do to me?" She asked backing away confused. Tears came down her face. "Am I going to hurt you how about Avery I can't hurt her." She said.

Nick shook his head, holding out a hand for her to take if she wanted too. Seeing as this would be hard... not only for her to hear but for him also. Because now he needed to say something about what was happening and who the man had been. "Your just a girl.... and I'm just a boy. I know but you didn't. I didn't do anything to you I swear. No.. you wont hurt me or Avery." He said not wanting to rush things and just get it out. If at all possible he wanted to adovide it all together.

Ruby took his hand. "I'm just a girl and your just a boy." She repeated softly believing what he said to some extent and it wasn't like she could prove otherwise. All she remembered was needing to get this job. "I won't hurt you guys?" She asked worried. "I don't want to hurt Avery or you. I care about you guys."

"No, you wont hurt us...." He assured her again, trying to think of reasons on why just in case she asked more questions later on. Swearing to himself that if her memories came back and she remembered everything.... they'd have to try it all over again. And the next time- if they was a next time. He'd make sure that the elders didn't find them and that they got the happily ever that they desivered.

Ruby nodded. "Okay." She said softly. "You got Avery asleep." She smiled. "How old is she?" She asked. She felt happy now that everything was over. "Thank you for saving me. You really are my Prince." She yawned still weak from the attack earlier. "Nick why do I like you so much?"

"Yeah, she's been sleeping for a while. A month old. It was no problem.., besides I could just stand there and watch you die n my arms. I think that would be to hard to bare... I don't know. " He said seeing her yawn. It would take a while for her to get her straight back. But she would. And then they could start moving forward.

Ruby smiled softly. "She's a cutie pie a little princess." Feeling her eyes fall shut. "I'm tired of sleeping." She said softly to Nick. "I just want to relax with you guys." For some reason she wanted to say family. "It just feels like we are one happy family." Avery started to stir she wanted Ruby. "Avery wants me." She couldn't explain how she knew it, but she just did.

Nick smiled as he thought of her remembering that they were a family. Even though she didn't know for sure. But they really were a family of sorts. Even though she wouldn't remember. "You want me to bring her over so that you can hold her?" he asked seeing as she still looked slightly weak.

Ruby smiled and nodded her head quickly. "Yeah I would love to hold her." She said happily. Fixing her position to hold her. "I can't believe she doesn't like other people. She's so sweet and innocent. The zoo is opening for spring maybe we can take her to see all the animals."

"I know, it's hard to believe.." He said picking Avery up and carrying her over and then handing her to Ruby when she got re positioned so that it was easier to hold her. And then taking a seat next to them on the end of the coach. "That would be wonderful.. she hasn't been there yet so it should be really fun for her and to see how she reacts to seeing them all for the first time." he said looking at his daughter and giving her a smile.

Ruby smiled down at Avery. "How would my baby girl like that?" She asked not realizing she even said that. Avery smiled and then yawned cutely. "Yeah I'm sure she will love every bit of it." Her eyes wandered up to Nick and smiled. "I'm really happy." Ruby let out a yawn she was tired and weak still feeling her head rest on Nick.

Nick had caught the wording she had used, without even herself realizing that she had said 'my baby girl'. And he was okay with that, she she belived that she was just a babysitter for Avery. But he knew otherwise. "I'm glad...yeah I think she would too.." he said seeing her yawn herself, feeling her head rest against his shoulder. "Why don't you try and get some more rest?"

Ruby felt her eyes closed slowly before she could answer him. She didn't want to let go of Avery either. She felt happy. Laying.against Nick made her relax. She wasn't sure about a lot of things, but she knew she could trust them. Though it felt like there was something he wasn't telling her.
