Nick hadn't expected to be pushed against the wall and her to kiss him like she was. But he also didn't really mind. Wrapping his arms around her waist. Pulling away only half way whispering against her ear. "Do I need a reason for kissing the mother of my daughter and my mate like that? ---- Why don't we go and check on Avery and then we can continue after we do." He said softly rubbing her back as he talked to her.

Ruby looked at him for a second. "But baby she's fine sound asleep from the medicine you gave her." She relaxed against him the rubbing of the back was calming her down. "No I want to kiss you now. Come on you want my kisses." She said to him kissing softly trying to persuade him using full force. Ruby could feel his soul coming to her and she was going to do anything to get it.

He remembered giving Avery the medicine that they had gotten for her. But that had been an hour or so ago now and she would be needing more soon. And hadn't she just said that they should go check on Avery? Or had he imagined that part? he wondered, as he felt her go back to kissing him while telling him that he wanted her kisses. And he wouldn't lie to himself he did, but he also thought they should check on their daughter. But then it set in, and he gave up the fight. They'd get around to checking on Avery soon, and like Strawberry had said, she was still fast asleep from the medicine. "Okay, we'll check on her later..."

Ruby smiled as she knew she won. She kissed him as she started to feed off of him more. Then she was done there was nothing for her to feed off of anymore. She didn't feel too well. Her knees were shaking some she quickly pulled away. "Nick I don't feel too well." Not realizing that consuming her mates soul was like food poisoning to her.

Nick didn't feel like himself, all of a sudden. He had been fine, all day and then once they had finished kissing he hadn't felt like himself. It wasn't because of how good he had felt while they had been kissing, because he would be lying to himself if he said that it hadn't been some of the best kisses they'd shared in a long time. Shaking his head to hope to clear his mind some before looking up at her. Hearing that she didn't feel so well. "Maybe you should lay down for a while.."

Ruby was about to respond before her legs started to give out. "Nick are there two of you?" The world seem like it was spinning she stumbled some. The elders knew the goal of all this was if Nick didn't have his soul then he would treat Ruby different hopefully tearing them apart. Meaning she would take her and Avery to the Elders for refuge. "Nick, honey I feel like..."Her eyes closed on her as she started to fall towards the floor.

Nick frowned slightly at her question about if there was two of him. Coming to realize she must of been seeing doubles of him. Somehow the kisses must of affected her as well but he had no idea how that was possible. Shaking his head again, before coming to his senses and saw that she was falling to the floor. Flashing out and catching her just before she would of completely hit the floor. Lifting her up and carrying her into the house and to their room and placing her in the bed. Walking out and to the nursery to check on Avery seeing that she was still asleep, but she was steering as if she was going to wake up soon.

Avery sensed a change in her dad and she didn't like it. Tears started to come down her face. She was afraid because this wasn't the same feeling she had before with him. Ruby opened her eyes slowly hearing Avery cry. She got up and walked to the nursery. "Shh baby girl." She squirmed away from Nick. Ruby bit her lip something felt off with Nick. "Nick are you feeling okay?" Her eyes looked found Nicks. "I can sense something is different about you and I don't know what." She whispered.

Nick just shrugged seeing as that point he didn't really care, and he was tired. Hearing Avery still fussing and that she was squirming around in Ruby's arms. Something was wrong, with her, but he didn't know what, and only partly cared. "Yeah, I guess.... just a little tired. You mind if I head off to bed?" Hoping that Avery wouldn't fuss all night, like the first night she hadn't felt well.

"Its not even night and we still have dinner and the movie night." Ruby said trying to get Avery to calm down. "It's okay baby girl." Ruby really was counting on the movie night that they been planning. They didn't get much a lone time and this was their chance. "You forgot didn't you?" It wasn't like Nick to forget and this was special night this was how they were celebrating her birthday. "I should call Raven something is off about you and we need to fix it."

Nick turned back around so that they were looking at each- other again. "No I didn't forget. I just need a little rest before we start the movie, but I'll be up in time. ---- If you think it'll help at all then go ahead. But I'm pretty sure it's nothing major." Didn't vamps rest when they didn't feel good? They had to, at some point seeing as if they didn't they'd just be a whole bunch of crappy ol' vamps walking around. Plus it was her birthday, today and they had planned on doing a movie night, just the two of them seeing as they didn't get much 'alone time' these days.

Ruby looked at him and nodded her head smiling faintly. "Sleep then." Trying to hide any emotions she would normally do. "I will be waiting." She put Avery down and walked down the stairs to the living room. Tears came down her face softly. She could tell that he forgot he hadn't said Happy Birthday to her. Raven something is wrong with Nick. He's just acting like he doesn't care about anything and Avery refuses to be hear him.

Nick shook his head, and went and laid down on their huge bed. Normally he wouldn't of but he felt like crap and he had been lying when he said that he hadn't forgot. He had forgotten. And the only reason he remembered now was because she had reminded him. Shaking his head tiredly as he felt himself sink into the bed. Closing his eyes hoping that the rest would help and he'd feel better before they did the movie.


Raven hadn't even had the chance to tell Grace that she'd help her even though she still didn't like her for--- well a lot of things. When she heard Ruby's voice in her head saying that she needed to come over and check out Nick. Sense there was something wrong with him and Avery refused to be near him. When before Avery had loved having her father hold her. Letting out a breath and looking at Grace. Finally saying. "Stay here--- and try not to do, anything else stupid." Then answered Ruby's call. 'I'll be right over.'



Grace looked at her confused. So she was going to help her get Will back. But--- she wasn't right now. Seeing the look on her face. She must of gotten a 'call' from someone else. Walking back into the room and sitting down on the coach. Looking over and asking finally before Raven had a chance to walk out on her without giving any reason for doing so. "So--- are you what? Just leaving, to go do something and expect me to stay here until you come back?" Hearing her say : "Yep, pretty much.." Before seeing her walk out.

Thanks Ruby looked down some maybe she should go check on Nick really quick. Wiping the tears from her face. "Nick ah Raven is coming over to see what's wrong with you. I know you think your sick, but Avery never pulls away from you so something must be up." Hoping he didn't snap at her for waking up. Right now anything was possible with him. And maybe his actions would help them quicker on finding out what was wrong with him. She heard a loud cry coming from the other room she took Avery and started to bounce her, but nothing worked. "Nick can you come help me."

Nick groaned as he rolled over to go help, out with Avery. Hearing that she'd already called for Raven to come and check him out. Even though he didn't see the point seeing as it was most likely nothing at all. A headache at most, even though he didn't feel like he had a headache. Walking into the nursery. "I honestly don't even know what you want me to do, it's not like I can make her want to be held by me... and she's just going to pull away from me again if I try and hold her." He told her. Seeing as yeah, Avery never pulled away from him. But was it really so weird that the answer could just be as simple as she wanted to be held by her mother and not him?



Raven looked back at Grace once before shutting the door. And then headed for what she knew to be there new house. Getting in a car and driving the 5 miles it took. Before getting out and walking to the door and knocking. Wondering what it was with them? Ruby, and then Avery, and now Nick... They'd all been sick at one time or another. And all kind of close together. But when Ruby had called for her, she hadn't sounded like herself. Like she was more worried than should be for a simple cold or anything. Knocking on the door, with a sigh.

Ruby looked at him her faced paled Nick never got upset at her. He sounded as if she asked him to do something so hard. All she did was ask him to help with her. Come in we are in the nursery. "Nick I called you in because your her father and she's sick. We are suppose to be a family and help each other out. Why are you so upset about something that simple? I didn't do anything wrong. Is it such a crime to ask the father of my child to help out with her?" Ruby asked a little upset. "You are acting like you don't care." She whispered.

Nick still didn't see the point of the whole thing. Seeing as Avery would just pull away again, and there was nothing he could do about that. Just like he couldn't do anything else to comfort her, only to have her pull away again. "Whatever. What you want me to do? " He asked as he walked over thinking that she needed more of the meds seeing as it had been two hours sense the last dose.


Raven cocked an eyebrow but let herself in and then walked up the winding staircase to the nursery. Finding both Ruby and Nick inside. With Avery in Ruby's arms. Clearing her throat once she looked over the situation. "Um..... you called?"

"I want to know why you are acting like you don't care." Ruby looked up at Raven. "I asked Nick to help me out with Avery and he is acting like he doesn't care. Avery is refusing to even be near him." She said. Moving back a little bit from Nick. "Nick something is wrong this isn't you. You always care and you never forget plans we make. Your not sick so don't pull that excuse."

Raven listened and then looked at Nick in the corner of the room. He seemed---- different. Not quit himself. Not at all like himself actually. Taking in all the information. Before finally turning back to Ruby and Avery. "Would you mind leaving the room for a bit? I'd like a few minutes with Nick alone. I'll come and get you if anything changes." She said knowing that if she was right, and she really, really didn't want to be right about this. Things could get bad. Really bad. And fast too.

"Raven I know you want me to leave the room." She whispered. "I can't though. I love Nick and I will stick by his side and if things go south I will run out with Avery in my arms. I know you want to talk just to Nick." Any other time she would leave, but she felt like she had to stay for this. "Please don't get mad Raven this I feel like I have to stay." Her eyes glanced at Nick for better or for worse she thought to herself.

Raven could understand that. She'd want to stick by her mate too, at a time like this too. If she had one, that is. Letting out a deep breath before saying. "I'm not mad, at you for not wanting to leave at a time like this. I can understand that, seeing as I wouldn't want to leave my mate either if he was going through this.... but. You should know, that if it is what I think it is, things could get------ risky. To say the least. So, for both your and Avery's protection. Would you mind at least staying on the other side of the room, while we talk? I'll talk loud enough for you to hear as well. "



"Why don't you just say your piece and get out? Nothings wrong with me, and the most you could possible do is slap my wrist for speaking out of turn and acting like I don't care." Nick snapped at Raven seeing as he was the one they were talking about and it was like he wasn't getting in say in the matter about rather or not he even wanted to talk to the chick.

Ruby nodded slowly backing up some not moving any further not listening to Raven. Partly because she wanted to be close because she knew she would probably be able to calm him down some. "Nick has point what's wrong if anything." She asked softly. Knowing that Nick would never snap at someone like this. "Nick please I know you to talk to her. Just please listen because I'm worried about you. I can't loose you." She said softly. "Raven can you please get on with it"

Raven didn't have a single problem with getting on with it. Seeing as after this she had another person to help, regardless of rather or not she liked the person. But she did like Will. So that was the only reason she'd be helping Grace. Nodding her head. Taking a slight steep between Nick and his mate along with there child. Turning to look at Ruby asking, " How have you been feeling lately? Well besides tired from taking care of a child, that is.... anything seem off? Have you been blacking out at all? Maybe not quit feeling like yourself?" She asked wanting to make sure that she wasn't misjudging the whole situation.



"What does that have to do with anything?? I thought you were here on her behalf, for trying to find out what was wrong--- even though there is nothing wrong-- with me? So how does how she feel factor into any of this? Or am I just missing something?"

"Nick did something to make sure I wasn't addicted to darkness any more. After that I just felt really weird and blanked out a few times. Hunter was helping and then he was gone. I get these waves of confusion and this uncontrollable hunger. After that nothing." Ruby said. "But how does this deal with Nick ?" She asked. "I'm fine though." She wasn't important right now Nick was.

"I'll explain how it ties in with Nick in a moment. Just one more question... is this, hunger you get. For blood or is it for--- something else? Like--- something pure?" She asked taking note of the other answers that Ruby had already given to her. Wondering if somehow Hunter had set Nick up. And if he had that would only lead to more questions about why he had. And what it could mean.

"I don't know I just feel my stomach growl and everything goes blank the first time it happened it felt like I hadn't eaten in awhile. " Ruby said feeling that come on right now. "Like right at this moment can I'm starving and I just want something and I smell it coming off of you it smells delicious, but the humans they smell so much better." It was like Raven awakened something in her whether she meant to her or not. "Just thinking about it makes me want to take it. It's making my mouth water." She walked over and put Avery down in her crib. Taking a deep breath she wasn't sure what was wrong with her. "I'm fine. Nick is more important." She whispered. "Nick please hold me."

Raven nodded once more, knowing now that it had been as she had expected and that it was really his soul. Seeing as how he was acting, and how she had explained how she was feeling at times it all fit. But one thing. "Nick. When you did whatever you did to Ruby while Hunter was here. Was it some kind of spell that you had to cast in latein?"


Nick wished she would just hurry the hell up and tell them what was going on and stop talking in tongues. "Oh, shut up. Of cross it was in Latien. What kind of spell isn't?? So what, it helped her not want the darkness anymore. So what's the big deal?"


Raven blew off what Nick had said and looked at Ruby. "The only expiation, that I can offer , you is that his soul is missing. It all points to that. As much as I hate to say it... it's likely that when Hunter and Nick did the spell or whatever they did to you. They turned you partly into a blood fairy. And I'm guessing that you two have kissed.... and you some how took his soul when you did." She said softly trying to lessen the blow to it.

Ruby wasn't paying attention. She was trying to fight off this feeling she had and she really hoped that Nick would come to help her. "Nick please." She whispered again. Whatever they were talking about wasn't making any since. All she knew was that she had this weird feeling and it wasn't something she liked or was used to. The coven was calling her and she could feel a tugged. Part of her wanted to move the other half stayed. "It hurts." The pull was growing stronger causing her pain. Her knees started to shake as they gave out from her. Hoping that Nick would catch her.

Nick didn't really care what Raven thought or what she had to say at this point. "None of that makes sense, do you honestly think I wouldn't notice if my soul was missing?? MY SOUL. How could she of even taken it without my not knowing? That's Impossible. Your just making it up because your mad at Will for some reason." He snapped at Raven, as she finished telling him what was going on. Flashing out and catching Ruby just as her knees gave out. Lifting her up and carrying her to the bed and placing her on it. Before going back out to finish talking to Raven.

"Nick it hurts. I need something Nick." Ruby whispered softly feeling the pain come through again and again. "Please you two what's wrong." She asked. "I hear this noise and feel this tug make it stop." His soul did she really take his soul? Right now she wished she had her Nick telling her she was going to be okay. "Please forget about it Nick......." She stammered the world began to grow dizzy. Ruby got up from the bed and stummbled some catching herself at the door.

Raven answered first. "Yes, sadly.. I think you have. The good news is, there is a way to return his soul to his body. But you'll have to trust me, in order for it to work." She said rushing over to Ruby and helping her steady herself. Looking over at Nick, seeing him run a hand through his hair. "I'll give you a moment, to think about it... I need to, make a call." She told her helping Ruby over to the bed to sit down.

"No now. We are going to do it now before something happens." She took a deep breath. "They're calling for me." She whispered softly. Ruby got up in her wet clothing and started to walk to the door. Where she would be met by the old man winter. "I need more." Not knowing how to control this. She didn't want to be like this she wanted to be herself. Sadly when your life is planned out for you there's no way to stop it. Unless if she pushed for change, but in all honesty she was tired of fighting and doing that. Couldn't the Queen take a break?

Raven didn't know what was going on, seeing as she had just gotten up and started for the door. Going after her to stop her. Seeing as if they were going to get Nick's soul out of her, she'd have to do it soon. Catching her arm just as she would of gone out the door. "Ruby--- listen to me okay? We should try and get Nick's soul out of you seeing as it would be better if we do it sooner rather than later."

"Nick's soul." She whispered softly. "It tasted amazing." Ruby was clearly out of it. "I wish there was more. I have to go they are calling me. I feel like I have to go." Her eyes drifted up. They were filled with confusion and her being lost. "I don't like this feeling." Ruby whispered. "We have to get his soul out now." Just repeating what Raven just got done saying.

"Yes, yes we do... can you come and sit down on the bed again? That way I can get it out? Seeing as I don't want to risk hurting you, if your standing and I do it.." She said starting to help her back over to the bed, looking over at Nick which was looking more and more like a stranger.

Ruby nodded. "I'm going to sit on the bed." She looked around the room. "Where is Nick?" She asked she couldn't see him in this state because he didn't have a soul. "I want Nick." She pouted. "I don't like this feeling." She repeated softly again. "We have to get his soul out." Confusion clouded any sense of judgement she had.

"And we're going to get his soul out. He's in the next room, but don't worry. He'll be here in a few moments though. Can you lay back on the bed for me and close your eyes?" She asked seeing as she had to be relaxed when she got his soul out.

Ruby nodded her head. She laid down quickly wanting to see Nick. As she closed her eyes she became relaxed. There was two thought on her mind and that was seeing Nick and figuring out this weird feeling that was overwhelming her. Maybe Nick knows how to fix she thought to herself.

This was good, she thought seeing her close her eyes and then relax. "Okay.. Now take a really deep breath and breath out. As deep as you can. And focus on pushing Nick's soul out while you do." She said getting ready to catch it when she did. Sense she'd only have one or two chances of doing this. And doing it right.

Ruby followed the instructions Raven gave her. She felt something rip through her. She winced at the pain as a loud scream escaped her mouth. It eventually came out. Sweat drippled down her face. "Nick." She whispered. Ruby wasn't sure if she was dying that pain was gone, but the thought of it freaked her out.

Raven caught it when it came out and ran in to the nursery where Nick still was. And shoved it into him. Seeing the difference right away. Steeping aside when Nick heard Ruby calling for him and he went running into the bedroom. Fallowing him in just in case she needed to help as well.

"Make it stop. I don't like the feeling." She whispered softly. Nick was here. "Please I don't want this anymore." The whole feeling of being a blood fairy wasn't working for. "Please." She begged. Tears rolled down her face.

Nick had run in when he had goten his soul back and gone and sat on the bed next to her. Resting a hand on her knee. " Okay,--- don't worry I'm right here. We'll come up with something about how to get it to stop."

"Yeah, I'm okay now..... and I think we should, talk." He said having a feeling about what happened seeing as she had gotten that way before when she had almost gone all 'blood fairy'. And if it was then he'd have to find a way to reverse the spell, that they had put but that would only lead to her getting addicted to the darkness. And he didn't know what was worse. The blood fairy thing or her when she got addicted to the darkness. Looking over at Raven. "Would you mind giving us a moment or two?" He asked looking between the two of them.


"Yeah,--- actually I should be going. I told Grace I'd help her with something.. If you need me you know how to reach me." She said looking between Nick and Ruby. Seeing as there wasn't much she could do to help Ruby. Only Nick could do that.

As much as he would love to propose to her on her birthday he just couldn't do that with what he had done hanging over his head. It would only make things worse in the long run for them if he tried to cover it up. Shaking his head as if he was disappointed in himself. Heck he WAS disappointed in himself for ever thinking that it would make anything better. "As much, as I would love to ask you to marry me tonight. I just can't do that, if I don't tell you what really happened, when Hunter was here. Plus I do think your right,--- that we should start going on dates so that we can learn more about each other. Yeah, it might be different considering we do already have Avery. But I also think it's worth a shot too."

Ruby looked at him some feeling her heart crack. "I don't remember that conversation." She whispered. "Raven said you did something, but you can fix it." Ruby didn't want to talk anymore. "I have to go make dinner. We can talk later." She slid of the bed walking down the stairs. Tears gently fell down her eyes. Feeling like a stupid fool for thinking that he would even consider marrying her.

It wasn't because he didn't want to marry her that he hadn't proposed. He wanted to marry her so bad, but he also couldn't do it while hiding things from her either. Letting out a breath, as he heard her heading down the stairs to go start dinner. Looking into the nursery and seeing Avery still asleep. Swiping the baby mounter off the night stand and then heading down the stairs after her. To see if she wanted any help with making dinner or anything. Thinking as he walked down them that he'd do something special to make up for everything that had happened tonight. Walking into the kitchen a moment later. Saying in a low voice but knew she'd hear him still. "Let me make dinner.... please."

Ruby looked down some. "Its fine Nick I got it. Go ahead and relax." She said. "Go do something humans do." She felt like she was denied by him and that went against everything she was taught. There was so much Nick didn't know about being a vampire or even being royal. Mostly because she wanted to protect him from those situations. "The Awakening is coming up its where you will introduce me as your mate and show them that we are worthy. You have to be able to do magic and control your element." Ruby whispered she didn't want to tell him this. "We will also kill a small villiage."
