We do appreciate that a group read book is ideally not in the middle of an established series; some of the upcoming books selected are, but many of us have read the first books together already such as Justin Cronin's The Passage, and The Twelve or are long time fans of series like the Lucas Davenport books.
Then of course we have several members who are not rabid about reading in order interspersed with many members who prefer to RIO over all else. :)

In any event, I like the group reads, but don't feel I have to do every one. There will be books I want to read that others will not as well.

Whatever you all decide is fine with me.
Ann, Natchez Burning has definitely gripped me! I listened to it on the ride back from Maine this afternoon and I'm all in. It's hard to be brief in the chapter summaries though, since so much happens. I hope they aren't too long.

I like the idea of not having a big fat book like that for the end of the year either.

I am interested in reading The Bat, it's on my tbr but i don't yet have a copy. If others are interested in reading it maybe we can put it on somewhere in 2015.
Is anyone else planning on reading Natchez Burning besides me and Ann?
I plan on reading NATCHEZ BURNING. :-)

Cop Town is an upcoming selection for July with a June 24 release so we can be sure to have the initial threads on that one ready for anyone wanting to start a stand-alone group read book.
