Nessa is an outgoing person. She has this spirit around her that just naturally draws people to her. She never gives up hope for anything. She believes no matter who you are, you deserve someone to listen too. So not only is she polite and kind to everyone, almost everyone who interacts with her considers her a friend, someone they can place their trust in, because Nessa isn't a gossip. More often she corrects the outrageous gossip that is spread about people. She believes in honesty, even though she isn't perfect.
Nessa breaks rules all the time, and she'll fess up to it, she'll even take the blame for other people so that only she gets in trouble, because no one wants to punish the cancer kid. She hates being thought of as a cancer kid, it is one of her biggest pet peeves, but she lives with it. She get's agitated when people start to pity her or acts like she can't do something because of her past, and her frequent illness resulting from her past. She loves to be active, it's the one thing that makes her feel perfectly normal. When she's on the slopes or in the gym, she's a competitor, not a cancer kid. She's tougher than anyone thinks, and even though she constantly lives with the fear of relapse, for now at least, the cancer has stayed away, the hope she carries is that it will never return.

Nessa grew up in New York, where she made frequent trips to ski resorts every winter since she could walk. She's been on a board almost as long as she can remember, with very few exceptions. She had to give it up for five years though. When she was eight, she started to bruise easily, too easily, and she always seemed to be exhausted. So her parents took her to the doctor, and she had to go back every day for a week for tests she can't much remember. What she remembers is at the end of that week, when the doctor told her parents that she had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Cancer. At the time, it had already progressed into her central nervous system. So for three years, Nessa endured chemotherapy, radiation and multiple blood and bone marrow transplant. By some blessing, she went into remission when she was twelve, though she continued treatment for two more years.
Nessa was changed after. She had a desire to see the world and to do everything she could. She had this wonder lust. She wanted to learn and do everything, to live without limits. She couldn't be contained. She's always on the move, rarely gives herself a spare moment. She's travel to Greece and England, has plans to go to Spain for the running of the bulls, and France. What she really wants to see is Venice. She's always wanted to see Venice, it's been her dream since she was a small child. For the winter though, she's decided to get back to what she loves, boarding.
