Most authentic version of Ulysses?

i'm finding it very daunting finding the most authentic, least censored version of this book. it's my understanding that it was censored not just for obscenity, but for content that portrays the english government in a less than favorable light. insights on which version to find (used or difficult to find ok) would be appreciated. hanx.

censored? not that i know of

there are some corrections here and there based on joyces notes but that's about all

where did you hear that it was censored?

Look up The Gabler Edition. I read this in my modernist novel class in college. My professor was a Joyce scholar. She told us that we had to buy this specific edition for the class. She said it was the most authentic version around.
