Description:
To understand our life’s purpose we first need to understand the purpose of life itself and to do this ignoring the existence of a God would be to side-step both a challenge and an opportunity. Given the revelations of modern science and the miracle of life itself, the only God that makes any sense to believe in today is a God force, unlimited in its capacity to create, and too "big" to need anything it created – including mankind.

With this as a guiding principle, I set about creating an understanding of why we believe what we do about ourselves, about God and our life’s purpose and the actions we take as a consequence of these beliefs. The outcome is a book that offers answers to questions such as "who are you really?" and "why does God let bad things happen to good people?" through a way of understanding ourselves as being "facets" of a loving force we call God that neither needs nor demands anything.

Some of the concepts presented in this book are new; for example the reframing of "positive thinking" (chapter 2), the experiment with time that answers the question "who are you really?" (chapter 4), debunking the acquisition of wealth as being "unspiritual" (chapter 10) and the evolutionary loop (chapter 13).

For many readers (and myself as author) some of the ideas in this book are challenging. For example, while holding to the belief we are all facets of an unconditionally loving God, chapter 7 explains why the greatest tyrant of the 20th century was an advanced soul creating a theatre of experience in which other souls could evolve. This chapter also explains why it is virtually impossible for us to believe such ideas to be true.

Now is a good time for us to challenge and change our way of thinking about ourselves and our purpose for being here because we are now more open to question our beliefs about ourselves and God. Through reason, logic and some humour, this book presents some challenging ideas in a clear and precise way.
