I have been wondering the same thing about Littlefinger. With the way this book and the next are written I am wondering if we will not find out to the sixth book.

So true. I like that though. It makes them seem real to me. I know I don't always do the same kinds of things all the time and would not expect the characters to as well.

As long as Cersei dies in the next book I will be placated and can wait to find out all the intrigue.

Lol.

Looking forward to Book 5 and return of some of the characters missing from Book 4.

Book Synopsis:
With A Feast for Crows, Martin delivers the long-awaited fourth volume of the landmark series that has redefined imaginative fiction and stands as a modern masterpiece in the making.
After centuries of bitter strife, the seven powers dividing the land have beaten one another into an uneasy truce. But it's not long before the survivors, outlaws, renegades, and carrion eaters of the Seven Kingdoms gather. Now, as the human crows assemble over a banquet of ashes, daring new plots and dangerous new alliances are formed while surprising faces—some familiar, others only just appearing—emerge from an ominous twilight of past struggles and chaos to take up the challenges of the terrible times ahead. Nobles and commoners, soldiers and sorcerers, assassins and sages, are coming together to stake their fortunes...and their lives. For at a feast for crows, many are the guests—but only a few are the survivors.

Woohoo, starting Dec. 1! There is a chapter breakdown as well as discussion questions on pg. 1 of this thread that we can use to help facilitate discussion.

Interesting to see on the previous page which characters appear in this book and which don't - I'd heard that some were missing but I wasn't exactly sure who. Pleased to see more from Brienne and really looking forward to more of Jaime - his story arc in the last book was fascinating!

Good catch -- I saw the chapter titles and didn't even think about which characters were there. Where's my Jon Snow!? Where's Tyrion!? Those were my favs along with Arya. I could just read their stories and skip over all the others! :) I might get an early start tonight.
Happy to have you, RachelvlehcaR! I keep seeing you in almost every buddy read I'm following! :)

Jon, Tyrion and Dany are my favourites. I think the fact that they're missing from this is why a lot of people consider this to be a weak point of the series. At least we know there should be plenty of them in book 5!
I finally made some headway in this book. It was so hard to get through The Prophet (chp. 1) for some reason. But the end of that chapter was good. A kingmoot? Reminds me of an entmoot from Lord of the Rings. I'm looking forward to seeing where that goes. I was also excited by the next two chapters that brought us back to where Book 3 ended. I'm getting enveloped in Westeros again, so hopefully the rest will be smooth sailing.

Questions for Chapter 4 (Brienne) - Chapter 7 (Cersei)

I want Jon and Dany to get married and rule Westeros together. Just a pipe dream, I guess.

Yes! They would be an excellent pair of rulers!

This is going so slowly for me too. I want to finish this weekend, but I'm only 40% done. Bah! Let's hope there's some action in the wings to help speed things along.

I finally finished this behemoth! Final thoughts: (view spoiler) I was getting frustrated that nothing really exciting was happening and none of the stories from the previous book were being resumed, but then at the end the author says that he couldn't fit everything in one book, so he put some stories in this book and the rest of the characters' stories in the next book. So darn, I should have read A Dance with Dragons first! At least that would have resumed all the cliffhangers from Book 3. Ugh!

Chapter 24(Cersei) - Chapter 25 (Brienne)

I might try and get the next section in this evening before bed, but I think I'll have had enough for one night after that.

I'm looking forward to the next book. I was prepared for this one being less action and more plotting and planning, but I've heard it all gets exciting again about halfway through the next.
