Living near the ski resort only helped Kenzie, a rink was never too far away. Then her father's million dollar job moved to California, and he demanded the family come with him. Kenzie didn't want to go. Her mother set Kenzie up with a friend of the family, with whom Kenzie would spend the next ten years.
As Kenzie grew up, her talent only grew, and talk of competition and the Olympics came about. Kenzie spent every waking moment she could in the rink. She switched to an online school so she could be on the rink in daylight hours when her coach was free. She started doing fundraisers to pay for her to get to competitions, to pay for new skates and costumes. Her mother sent money behind her father's back, as her father had disowned her when she refused to come to California with them. Kenzie doesn't much care, her couch is more of a parent to her than anyone else. Now, Kenzie lives alone in a cabin just off the resort, being paid for by multiple sponsors that seek to better her and keep her skating at any expense to them.
