"Are you okay?" he asked softly.

"So what are you thinking?" he asked softly.
"Just how long its been since I've seen him."
"I know," he smiled slightly.
"Why didn't they have to go as well?" she asked, voicing something she'd never understood.
"Because Nick is an adult," he said softly.
"And Anna?" she questioned. "She's only 9."
"Anna can be supervised by your parents. Riley ... the attack had been planned on you,' he said softly.
Riley bit her trembling lip. "Why me?" her voice quivered.
"We don't know," he sighed softly. "They are trying to figure that out."
Riley hugged herself as tears spilled from her eyes.
"Riley, please open the door," he pleaded.
Riley stood unlocked the door. She opened it.
Ryan got up and stepped inside. H saw,her tears and then drew her in, hugging her close.
Riley clung to him, gripping his shirt.
He stroked her hair gently. "Shh, it's okay."
"Don't cry,"he whispered, pulling her closer.
Riley tried to calm down but couldn't.
"You're going to be okay," he told her sternly.
((And now he's bossy again.))Riley pullled back enough to wipe her eyes. She nodded a little.
((:PPPPP))"Stay strong, you're so, so strong," he said gently.
"You are," he said softly, pulling back and gazing into her eyes.
"Yes you are," he gently brushed a piece of hair out of her eyes.
Riley shook her head and pulled away.
"Just listen to me,"he sighed. "Why won't you believe me?"
" I've never been strong." Riley said. "Never."
"You have been, always. You don't realize it, but you're the one who's always been on her own, even with me here," he said gently. "You are smarter than me, definitely, but also stronger. You're so strong. You don't realize how you pull me through sometimes."
"If you have me then who do I have?" Isley said.
"You have me," he said softly, looking into her eyes.
"Are you okay?" he asked quietly.
He sighed softly, having a feeling she wasn't telling him the truth.
Riley went to the bed and sat down, pulling her knees back up to her chest.
He followed her and sat on the bed.
She put her face in between her knees.
He rubbed her back softly, sighing.
"It's okay. Just remember, Nick will be here soon," he said softly.
Riley sighed and lifted her head. "Yeah..." she murmured.
"Don't forget about that," he said gently.
