El Comandant Traza va ordenant escorcolls i vigilàncies a un grup de dones que es reuneixen habitualment a un domicili privat i passen moltes hores juntes. Perquè, en aquest món totalitari, moltes coses són sospitoses, com, per exemple, que només el 60% d'aquestes dones siguin dones públiques, quan, en conjunt, un 90% de la població femenina es dedica a aquesta professió.

Tota la història està explicada a base de informes politico-militars, cosa que fa la lectura una mica feixuga, però també ens immergeix més en l'ambient de repressió i vigilància d'aquesta societat "fictícia".
