Well... how can I put it?

1- I had the book in my hands, and I noticed the discrepancy in the page count.
2- I searched on amazon the book ISBN (you may check that both the goodreads and amazon page agree on ISBN 10 & 13).
3- the amazon page count agrees with my "manual" page count and ISBNs match through visual comparison.

so, please, could you modify the page count on the goodreads database for ISBN 0552172812 (ISBN13: 9780552172813)? Thank you.

You didn't say the source was book in hand. Worldcat (a much more reputable source than Amazon in these matters) gives a page count of 433 for this ISBN, so I would still be interested to learn what's on the remaining pages.

With book in hand I have:

Novel ends on page 434.
Acknowledgements on page 435.
From 436 to 439: "Books by Terry Pratchett" list.
From 440 to 442: "Books by Stephen Baxter" list.
From 443 to 450: Old "Long Earth" volumes synopsis + some blank pages.

I'd put 435, since the last pages are not "readable" but just advertisement, but it's true that 433 is the last numbered page... your choice! ^_-

Agreed, changed to 435 :)
Goodreads differs from library catalogues in that it counts all pages that belong to the book itself, not just the last numbered page. Ads and previews for other books are not counted.

could you please correct this mistake?

This book here

is actually the second book of the Alaska Wilderness series by Christopher Ross.

This one
https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...
is the first of this series.

Thank you very much for correcting.

Nonethousand Oberrhein | 74 comments Hello all,

could you please add/modify the information on the following book entry (ISBN: 0345313909) as described below?
- book: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...

1- Add the page count: 208 pages (both Amazon and Worldcat agree on the count)

2- Change description from the Russian text to the following:
"A millennium into the future, two advancements have altered the course of human history: the colonization of the Galaxy and the creation of the positronic brain. On the beautiful Outer World planet of Solaria, a handful of human colonists lead a hermit-like existence, their every need attended to by their faithful robot servants. To this strange and provocative planet comes Detective Elijah Baley, sent from the streets of New York with his positronic partner, the robot R. Daneel Olivaw, to solve an incredible murder that has rocked Solaria to its foundations. The victim had been so reclusive that he appeared to his associates only through holographic projection. Yet someone had gotten close enough to bludgeon him to death while robots looked on. Now Baley and Olivaw are faced with two clear impossibilities: Either the Solarian was killed by one of his robots--unthinkable under the laws of Robotics--or he was killed by the woman who loved him so much that she never came into his presence!"

Since this book is an anthology, the book's editor should probably be listed, and according to the indicia, the editor was Rachel Pinnelas. (Gardner Fox wrote only one of the stories in the book.)

Currently reading the book, and my information is hands-on.

Nonethousand Oberrhein | 74 comments Dear librarians,

I noticed that the omnibus Les romans de l'eau (ISBN:
2258057884) was merged with Vingt mille lieues sous les mers (the first title - but not the only one - in the volume). Is it a new policy or was it a mistake?
I personally own this volume and the other three that make the collection Jules Verne et les quatre éléments, so I can give some insights...

1) If the omnibuses have to be merged with the first title in the volume, the following actions must be performed:

2) Claude Aziza is the Curator for the collection. His role should be updated in Les romans de l'eau and his name and role should be added in the other three.

3) Volume description. I took the time to type the description for the four volumes (it is the same for all four!): it should be changed from Les romans de l'eau (replacing the description of Vingt mille lieues sous les mers shown at the moment), and added to the other three volumes. Please find it at the end of this message.

Thanks in advance, I hope I was clear enough and not too much pedantic! ^_^

-- Description for the Jules Verne et les quatre éléments volumes: --

#743 Just to be clear: merged means deleted on Goodreads, combined/combining is what links different editions of a book together.
Only books with the same content should be combined. So books that are published in multiple parts should not be combined with the complete book. And books that are published in an omnibus edition should not be combined with a single book from the omnibus.

I have added librarian notes (visible for librarians on the combine and edit page) that mention which books are included. Corrected the librarian note for Eau, as it also only included the first of the books in this omnibus.

2. Done. Editors for fiction books is usually not allowed. Role on Worldcat is "présentée et commentée" which I think is valid to add. (Used your term of Curator).

3. Added the description to all books.

Thanks in advance, I hope I was clear enough and not too much pedantic! ^_^
Thanks for the clear instructions.

One final question: for Air, Worldcat lists a fifth book: Cinq semaines en ballon, that is not mentioned in the description you provided.
See http://www.worldcat.org/title/romans-...
