This book is about a teenage boy named Martin who is sent to Riker's island even though he didn't even do anything in the beginning. At Riker's high Martin gets caught in between a razor fight and his face gets slashed. Before the fight happened Martin use to be in the main part of Riker's but then was sent to Mod-3. When Martin first came to the island he didn't intend to get into anybody's problems. When inmates go to Riker's high instead of being called by their real names they are named by number, and Martin is known as number Forty. At Riker's high CO's or correction officers teach classes but even though they are the people that are teaching there are still fights that go on.
