K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Tama, Tricia. Tas parang copy cat ng Watchmen plus the local flavor. Well, siguro nga naroon sa susunod na books (kung meron man) ang action. I am still hoping na mag-adjust si Fabregas ayon sa feedbacks ng readers nya.

message 4252: by Tricia (new)

Tricia (triciuhhh) | 1752 comments @KD: kaya niya lang naman nagawa yun kasi readers are looking for a Justice League-type of local comics. Meron kasing narelease before para maging TV series pero napostpone kaya medyo nadisappoint yung fans (or comic/superhero fans). I'm not the biggest fan of the comics pero for me wala talagang story yung book1. Parang ewan lang. Kung meron man, putol naman for the 2nd book. (Yep, there'll be a second book but IDK when irelease kasi dapat this summer siya irelease).

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments Hay, salamat. May next book. I will still be interested to buy and read it.

So far, pinakamagandang mag-drowing si Vergara. Punong-puno ng boobs!!! hak hak.

I'm a fourth of the way in but I'm getting kind of bored with it already. Hopefully it gets better soon. I liked kasi the first book in the series (Labyrinth) and thought this was a continuation pero parang hindi pala.

[ THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT. I AM POSTING THIS MERELY TO MAXIMIZE READ COUNT. ]

Hello there!

This is DC. I'll be moderating the book discussion for TFG's October book-of-the-month.

In case you're not aware of it, the group talks about one book each month, taken from the TFG's Top 100 list, as may be seen HERE . This discussion (online and face-to-face) allows the members of the group to explore different books - effectively spreading the word that there ARE great books that may lie outside your preferred genre!

(By the way, our current book of discussion is The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro. You may find the current discussion for this book HERE .)

Now, I'd like to ask for your help in choosing the book for October (seeing as the months prior to that already have a set book, as you may see HERE ). Our theme for that month would be relating to Women and Classics. The choices are as follows:

PRIDE AND PREJUDICE by Jane Austen
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

THE SECRET GARDEN by Frances Hodgson Burnett
Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett

LITTLE WOMEN by Louisa May Alcott
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott

Right now, the set book for October is Pride and Prejudice . It's not too late, though! You can still change this by voting on our poll HERE . (We need around 180 members to VOTE in order to change this.)

Is there a book among the three that seems challenging or different from what you're reading right now? Maybe you've thought of reading one of these, but haven't actually pushed through with it? If so - VOTE for it, and maybe you'll end up reading it in October! Your voice counts! (Oh, and please note that the poll ends by July 7.)

"A single grain of rice can tip the scale. One man may be the difference between victory and defeat."

I sincerely hope to see your participation in this endeavor :) Thank you very much for reading this, and may you all have a great day!

Cheers!

-DC

It was a heart-breaking novel. :) Where She Went (If I Stay, #2) by Gayle Forman was better though. :)

i enjoyed it probably because i wasn't expecting anything... i wasn't looking for erotica, i just read it because people were talking about it and wanted to know what the fuss was all about... it's not realistic, it's not the best as far as writing is concerned... it just is... =)
