@Janus: I love that series despite all the hate Cassie Clare gets for ripping off her own work. Hope you're enjoying the book. :)
Matagal na 'to e bago kasi siya naging author fan fic writer siya ng Harry Potter sa fanfiction.net. Tapos na ban siya sa site na yun after copying parts daw from another fan fic writer of the same site.
@Beatrice: Yeah, I am enjoying it. It's pretty good. Not the exactly on my extreme top list but I like it. @Joyzi: That was like a few years ago na diba? they can't get over it?
oo parang ganun, pag nagbasa ka ng rant reviews, lagi mo yan makikita, actually sabi ni Rollie before daw mas madaming hate reviews si Cassie Clare sa goodreads e, not sure lang about it kasi medyo late reader na ako ng series.she's also accused na nakisabay lang sa popularity ni Holly Black
Me? No, sorry guys if I only have a gold mine. Sana I already bought the series before she published all the books in the series. Hehe.Where can I read her replies or interviews? I really wanted to see her angry.
lol adik talaga, pero if you're reading hate reviews mafefeel mo din naman ba't ayaw nila kay Cassandra Clare because in the first place nag-plagiarize siya e, so may lamat na talaga siya, dapat nga daw ibang name na lang yung ginamit niya...e parehas pa din dun sa name niya nung nagsusulat siya ng fan fic

Please please please for the love of Mike.. read the thread of comments that follow it.. there are alot of haters and alot of supporters din... (I thought all their arguments -from both sides- were medyo rabid!)
I think the problem here is because people open their mind that Clare's books are influenced by HP and they can't get away with it so they're all watching any bit accidental comparison to HP and immediately bash the author about it. Honestly, I don't see any comparison of her works to HP..
Rollie wrote: "I think the problem here is because people open their mind that Clare's books are influenced by HP and they can't get away with it so they're all watching any bit accidental comparison to HP and im..."Hmmm... I actually did see the HP (and Buffy) parallels the first time I read it. Jace as Draco, Simon as Harry and Clary as Hermione plus the whole school ala Hogwarts..BUT... credit where it is due, Cassie Clare did put a pretty good spin on things: Naging HP meets Buffy on steroids (*eew... sorry*)
Isamlq wrote: "Rollie wrote: "I think the problem here is because people open their mind that Clare's books are influenced by HP and they can't get away with it so they're all watching any bit accidental comparis..."I read her books without knowing her plagiarism thing. So that's why, I think, I hadn't noticed any thing that might connect the two series. :) Haha. Well, we looked it differently and I don't hate haters of that author because I'm not really a big fan of her. I just like how she handles things despite of her past issues (and still brought up presently.). :DD

Im slightly obsessed with one of the charries in it in fact (nope, not Jace!) I just think the reactions pulled from people on either side were pretty... fiery.

I am currently finishing BOX OF BOOKS :D LOL
as for the 6 degrees of separation (or lack thereof) between HP and the books that were mentioned......let's just face the fact that there's only so many angles you can write concerning vamps, wizards, fallen angels and pathetic romeo-juliet scenarios...
so there.
Singit muna ako hehe.To be honest, I think they're all making a big deal out of this issue. The fans and haters alike are pretty passionate. Parang nag-aaway lang for the sake of it. Like Bookrazy-Koi said, all these fantasy and paranormal books are so common that there's no way we can't see any similarities between them. For example, when Evermore came out they compared it to Twilight. Same thing with Hush, Hush.
In my opinion, as long as you enjoy the book, there's no need to be offended by the haters. We all have different tastes naman eh, so it's natural. :)

Never liked Evermore though LOL hahahah ^_^ but yeah, whatever floats our boats right? ^_^
man, oh man, just read the pre-review! i love HP books - they got me hooked in this genre in the first place. but i just don't see the ripping off HP to MI series. is it just me or these books have totally different worlds?lahat yata na authors na sumisikat ung book are getting accused of plagiarism. although it is true on Clare's part, hehe. but i love her writing!
either way, bad publicity is still publicity, right?
the point is, i consume the MI series and love it.
@bookrazy-koi: i added you in my blogroll ha! i just resumed blogging my book reviews kasi if i want to read a book, or buy one, i make sure i read some reviews muna. and it helps! so i want to help in return by giving feedbacks on what i've read na :) enjoy!
@Joyzi: Ahaha yes, I think so too. There's no middle ground when it comes to Cassie Clare. I'll admit that I'm a fan of hers - just not too rabid and fanatic unlike the others. Stephenie Meyer is a whole new thing though - I read Twilight two years before it became famous and I couldn't get past half the book. So naturally I am not a fan ahaha.
Maria wrote: "@bookrazy-koi: i added you in my blogroll ha! i just resumed blogging my book reviews kasi if i want to read a book, or buy one, i make sure i read some reviews muna. and it helps! so i want to hel..."sure-bukol! :D i try to write reviews...but i don't know if readers get anythign from them! LOL
twilight is like a flyer while MI is a hardbound book! LOL
