Tricia (triciuhhh) | 1752 comments It's really that cool? Uh, I think the movie is kind of let down to me kaya di ko na binasa hehe

message 1711: by Arizel紫 (new)

Arizel紫 (arizel) | 123 comments Depends on the person I guess. Some say the book is similar to Harry Potter (I also think so) and the movie is less Harry Potter-ish

message 1712: by K.D. (new)

K.D. Absolutely (oldkd) | 6065 comments I saw the movie, Jessica. I thought it was similar to Harry Potter except that they are all teens (in HP1, Harry was even an infant/toddler/kid). HP1 is a lot better than PJ1.

message 1713: by Arizel紫 (new)

Arizel紫 (arizel) | 123 comments Yeah. Everyone in HP1 is a kid. Cute

Apokripos (apokalypse) | 3321 comments Reading my kind of nerdy love story...

Candy by Kevin Brooks

And the good thing is it's told in the guy's point of view!

Sana kiligin ako... o baka hindi rin... Pfft!

I got it from an NBS sale last year...

Interesting... The beginning is sooo true good to be true for a guy kind of love story but I think the author has something up his sleeve, and I'm eagerly anticipating it. Candy, the girl, is too shrouded with mystery, an enigma, if you will - my type of girl, I suppose.

Ahahaha! :D

message 1721: by Joyzi (new)

Joyzi (joit) | 1768 comments I love Percy Jackson and the author Rick Riordan I really respect him. I cried when I learned that Haley his kid has ADHD and Dyslexia and that's why he makes a character like Percy Jackson. He just wants to inspire these kids. And he also an advocate for people to look at this condition especially with the parents in a more positive way.

Bookrazy-Koi (Bookrazy) | 202 comments Joyzi (littlemissya) wrote: "Hhhheeeeee? I still love the Percy jackson series and I miss Percy :("

The Lost Hero has more depth..really..and that book had more action and excitement than the four books of Percy Jackson series has -combined! LOL

But in fairness, I love the 5th book of Percy Jackson series..that's where all the action picked up...SORRY

and BTW... the book after Jason will feature Percy (who is stuck in the ROMAN camp for demi-gods) so I bet you'll love the new series na..LOL

The first two parts are promising. It is written in the first person. I prefer this point of view because it allows one to go through the thoughts of the narrator. If I weren't riding a bus on my way to work, I would have finished it in one sitting.
