I really enjoyed this book. I think the author did a great job incorporating the sexual relationship between the two main characters. This is a very erotic book. I enjoyed the emotion in this book and how well the characters relate.

Brazen by Carly Phillips by Carly Phillips

Read:2/15/14
Rating:***
Review: This book was very predictable. Sometimes that doesn't bother me, but I had a hard time getting into this one. The idea that Samantha would agree to a marriage to bail out her father doesn't seem plausible in today's world. This was an early book for Carly Phillips and I think she does a better job of giving her characters dimension now.

The Plantagenet Prelude (Plantagenet Saga, #1) by Jean Plaidy The Plantagenet Prelude by Jean Plaidy
Finished: 15 February 2014
Rating: ****

Review:
Jean Plaidy opens her Plantagenet Saga with the stories of Eleanor of Aquitaine, Henry II and Thomas Becket. While the language might occasionally seem a slight bit antiquated (likely on purpose, as the book was first published only about 4 decades ago), this doesn't diminish the enjoyment provided by the tale itself: a well-crafted historical fiction novel that remains a good read long after it first came out.

message 63: by Brittany Lynn (new)

Brittany Lynn | 449 comments Angie, what clarification? If I'm not mistaken for double digits you can read say the 15th in a series (if that series goes that high), a first or fifth in a series, a standalone for 1 or the alternate choice.

Angie ~aka Reading Machine~ (wolffaerie17) | 2160 comments I wanted to make sure I understood how Jenne was letting us double digits. I'm in the double digits for Rough Riders Series and getting closer with Psy Changeling Series. I decided it was better for me to do single book instead.

Sonnet was born into a family of time travellers. They call themselves the Lost, and that is what they are: With no control over their journeys through time and space, they never know where and when their abilities will take them and how long they get to stay in each place they make their homes. When Sonnet was a child, her younger sister Rose got left behind during one of those journeys - and with no way to return, they believe her lost forever and that loss has shattered her family. Now, Sonnet and her remaining Lost family and friends find themselves in modern America and when a young photographer shows Sonnet the picture of a girl she believes to be her sister, she will do anything to find her... but all may not be how it seems.
With a unique and engaging plot, well-developed characters and unexpected twists that keep you hooked, this was a great read. Looking forward to reading the rest of the trilogy!

This book was hilarious. I've read it a few years ago, about six, and I couldn't stop laughing. It was the same this time around. Stephanie Plus is a great character. I don't know if I want her with Joe or Ranger. If I could choose one of them, well I wouldn't be able to choose either. I am definitely going to continue the series.

Review:I have enjoyed all the books in this series but this was not one of my favorites. I had a hard time liking Chase through most of the book. I don't think he made up for all the womanizing. I didn't like Ava once they returned to the city. She came across as a spoiled brat. I guess they were perfect for each other, but I want to really root for the HEA and I just didn't feel it with them. I am curious to see how/where she incorporates Gavin into the series.

I wasn't sure about this book to be honest. I've seen this book many times on the ads on my kindle and I decided to give it a try. I am so glad I did. I loved how Blake and Samantha's feelings and love grew for each other. They met and became husband and wife for convenience but quickly that changed. Samantha and Blake relate on many things in their past lives. This story is about love, money and happiness. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

The Leandros brothers just can't catch a break: Niko's father shows up unexpectedly on their doorstep, the entire puck race converges on the city and another half-Auphe turns up with plans for Cal that don't bode well for anyone. With its mixture of non-stop action, snarky dialogue and unexpected plot twists, this series is always great fun to read - and this was IMO one of the best parts so far.

Review:
The second book in the Alpha & Omega series takes Anna and Charles to Seattle to meet with delegations from several European werewolf packs and discuss their concerns regarding the Marrok's plans to reveal the existence of werewolves to the public. The talks, however, turn out to be the least of their problems as tensions run high among the factions, Anna is attacked and people end up being murdered... Great fast-paced fun for any UF lover, Hunting Ground is a great read not only because of its intriguing and entertaining plot but also because of the wonderfully strong and ever-growing relationship between the main characters and is a joy to follow.

Review: I really enjoy steampunk and this was another fun example. It continues following Sophronia as she learn all there is to know about being a spy at a young lady's finishing school. This is a young adult book and the main character is a teen so while there is a possible budding romance, it definitely takes a back seat to the action. Very funny!

The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty

Read:3/2/14
Rated:5 Stars
Review:
This book took me by surprise. I've heard great things about this book so I thought I'd give it a try.

The lives of three women Cecilia Fitzpatrick, Tess Curtis and Rachel Crowley, who only know each other casually are turned up side down.

The novel begins with Cecelia holding an envelope with the words, “For my wife, Cecilia Fitzpatrick. To be opened in the event of my death.” The thing is her husband, John-Paul, is still very much alive. When she asks him about it, he tells her he wrote the letter after the birth of their first daughter. He explained the letter is full of silly sentimental stuff. Believing him, she puts the letter away. When Cecilia’s husband suddenly returns home early from his business trip and begins frantically searching for the letter, she realizes there is much more to the letter than what he led her to believe. She knows she needs to find out what he is keeping from her. With a quick slice from a letter opener a Pandora’s Box explodes!
