Yeah, honestly I think this group is more used to help people find new series, and if they're really excited about them they'll just continue off their own steam :)

Has anyone considered a ranking system for the books? I think it'd be useful for someone picking which books to read to have some idea of which ones the group has liked and which ones disliked without reading all the threads. It could be something like a "favorites" vote instead of an actual ranking. I guess posts on that book's thread might be an indication.

Alternatively, the Goodreads rating could be listed with the book? Do you guys find those to be pretty accurate?

I personally don't really follow the general ratings (even though I rate books) - there are plenty of popular 5 star booksI didn't enough - and vice versa. Personal taste is very individual!
The problem with including the Goodreads rating is that it can change over time. At some point you'd need to go back through to update the ratings for each one.

What you could do is go to our bookshelf, click 'group-reads' and then sort by rating. This will show you the books we've read as a group, ranked by their current GR rating.

I had been away from Goodreads for a while until late last year. I haven't seen too many nomination cycles since I got back: so I hadn't noticed.
