Nice hypothetical. I think my paranormal would be shape-shifter dragon (could have flying, breathing fire, fighting, yes!) and the romance would be the "they hate each other at first and after many trials fall for each other" because I like snarky banter and lots of it haha. How about you?

I'd be with the vampires, hands down. Probably a fledgeling who gets lopped together with an older vamp, to go on some quest or other such nonsense (let's pull in the Fantasy trope here). The romance would be the sudden interest in the other's intelligence, followed by snark, followed by friendship, and then eventually onto more traditional romance. I like slowly-developing romance, myself. :)
