Megan wrote: "Don't we have to wait until midnight CST to roll?"I sent Jenne a message and she said it was okay because it was close to the correct time and it wasn't for the win. So I won't need to re-roll. I missed the CST part. I just thought it was midnight. I would've waited. It was only about another half hour after I rolled anyway.
So I checked the Help Thread and I saw this message from Jenne on how to win:I went and randomly selected some of the alternates from the alternate list and posted them under a spoiler tag in the alternate post of each team's thread (post 3 I think?). These will be the alternates for the win. I know we're not quite to that stage but it is getting closer to it.
So for the win you would have to read whatever spot you'd of landed on if the board went past 75 (i.e. on spot 72 and you rolled a 5 you'd be on spot 77 so it would be a 7th, 77th (does that even exist lol) or the alternate for spot 77).
Under the spoiler tag, there are the alternates. I put below the possible spots for the win:
75. Color: White** (per Jenne, we must go pass 75 to compete for the win...so if we land here, we're doomed.)
76. Location: England
77. Title: W
78. 2013
79. Maybe (shelf)
80. Location: New York
81. Title: D
82. 2005
83. Title: B
84. Location: California
85. 2009
If I'd realized we could go over 75, I would have picked another book to read this week. I have plenty of #3s in series but that's the only 7 I feel like reading!
Oh well. I guess it wll make things more interesting. ;)
SS Team Vicious & DeliciousBook: Dexter in the Dark by Jeff Lindsay
Series # or Alternate: #3
Spot: #73
Rating: ♥♥♥
Finished: April 3d, 2014
Review: I finished this one. It was better than the other books, although I find Deborah vulgar and incredibly unattractive as a character with all the swearing she does. It´s just not okay.
I wanted to let you guys know of a challenge I'm starting on April 7th at the Lost Challenges Group called
The Rapid Reader Scavenger Hunt
Jennifer is already signed-up. I thought maybe the rest of you might want to check it out :D

Review: This is one of the books with a secretly gorgeous woman who doens't really know it. On a speed dating event, Heather meets Tony (a gorgeous man who knows he is) and a chance comment from him makes her unleashes her inner dominatrix. That first encounter was hot - I can understand why he was first taken with her - but I'm not sure I eventually believed their romance.
I thought it was weird how Tony never questioned his sudden desire to be dominated - I expect a man who got these desires all of a sudden would at least wonder about it. Heather, on the other hand, took to her dominatrix role like duck to water and was constantly noticing other men and how they looked at her. I know this was supposed to underscore how men like confident women and all that but it just seemed as if she was more into herself and how suddenly desirable she was.
The scene in his office was the height of unprofessionalism - I didn't think it was sexy at all, more of the 'are you kidding me'? type - and I hoped somebody would come in and fire them both on the spot. And the fact that they thought they could get away with it, was simply appalling. I'm glad that Tony mentioned at the end how they could both have been sued.
Definitely not reading the next book. That friend of Heather's was too much of an an asshole.

Review:
This is another winner. Bethany stole my heart. There was great chemistry between Jean-Luc and Heather. This one was so funny that at times I found myself laughing out loud. I love humor in a book! I can't wait to read the next one in this series!
I am really bummed right now. I have been waiting for an 8 the entire game. Well, I'll just... I don't know... go pick another book then.

Thanks for the invite, Jen PP but I have to take a break from challenges. I have several ARCs I'm dying to read:
Feel free to envey me, LOL!
D.G. wrote: "Check if it's in the Maybe shelf, Tineke. It probably is."O thanks for the suggestion, but how do I search this shelf? I mean I found it, but there are a lot of pages of books on it.
It's probably easiest to look up the book and see if it's on the Maybe shelf that way. There are probably less pages. What's the book? I can look for you if you don't know how to do that.
Tell us the book and we can help find it.Almost every book is on that shelf. Your definitely is somebody else's maybe!
Tineke,I'm seeing three #8 books on your TBR list.
H is for Homicide
Cross Bones
From Dead to Worse
The only one that is on the maybe list is From Dead to Worse. Hopefully this helps.
Well, it was H is for Homicide that I wanted to read... guess I'll just have to make a different choice. Thanks for looking anyway, that was really fast!
I was able to sneak in the listen at work so thanks to a short audio (only 6 hours!) and 1.5x speed, I'm done. :)Here's my review: ttps://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1685542-...
It was so lame! (but hot, LOL!)
I love this challenge! It was great getting to know you ladies! I hope we meet again in the future :)
Hey! We have until Friday to finish our book, right? And now we already have been banished to the archives. But, but... Does that mean that I do not have to read my book anymore? Was the winner just the group that finished all their books first?
Yeah. It's over. There's no way I could have finished that fast. Oh, well. It was fun and it helped me clear out some series. I'll probably finish my book today or tomorrow.

Totally agree about English, LOL!"
It is a heavy duty course! It doesn´t just cover British English, but also Australian English, American English, Scottish English, Irish English, black English, Asian English etc. With the most in depth part being British English, but also a fair amount of Scottish, Irish, Australian and American English and then the other varieties too. It has a lot to do with history ofcourse and how the language developed etc. Quite interesting, but nevertheless a lot! (Think history and development of language from year 0 to present.)
I'm studying English Language and Culture, so English all day long, no Dutch allowed. It's a lot of literature, proficiency courses, phonology etc.
