Could the book have been made up specifically for Andrews's book?

My strong suspicion would be that it's a made-up reference. I've never heard of T.M. Ellis, not that that proves anything of course.

I only know of one reference to this book which is in Flowers in the Attic by V C Andrews.
I would love to find out the name of this book or any further info.
