Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie nodded thankfully, lacing her skating back up, even though she flinched pulling each skate on. Then she was on the ice. She just let herself coast for a little while, letting the tension roll off her shoulders, seeming to dissipate into the ice. Then she started getting into the music, seeming to dance smoothly over the ice, jumps and leaps where she would be suspended in time over the ice, seeming to float, to hover there for long moments. Her body seeming to move on it's own, as though gravity didn't apply.

somebody | 332 comments Luke watched her in awe. Leaning his head against the side of the counter. He wished he could do that- the part about the skating and maybe a little (alright a lot) of him wanted to do her too. Not in the whole way of just abandoning her. But who wouldn't love to stare at someone who could manage to be so innocent for so long? Like time and age didn't apply to her as a whole. And it kept him in shock for the most part as he couldn't help but simply stare.

Megan (nightrunner) ((I bet he does want to 'do her too' lolololololololol))

Kenzie listened as the song changed coasting for a moment, then smiling. It was one of her favorite songs. It was from the show Smash, which had been cancelled that year, but the music fro the two seasons before had intrigued her and she had fallen in love with it. The song was called Second Hand White Baby Grand, it was all about how broken things could still be beautiful if they were only given a chance. He movements seemed to elongate, as if she had suddenly grown so tall and yet become so insecure all at once. She felt as though she couldn't fail on the ice right then, as though she was totally on her own an in her own heaven.

somebody | 332 comments ((XD Not sure the dresses when she preforms will help that all too much))

Luke watched her, choosing to fix the lights so that the only ones on where lighting up the skating rink. Him holding up his phone with the flash on and moving it back and fourth before whistling as the song ended. He might as well have some fun with this rate? Even if it did kill his battery. He gave her a standing ovation as he clapped and cheered-single handedly by the way. Which looked pretty funny to anyone who was there and watching. He wasn't always given the chance to actually feel free, but what could happen here, the ice was like 3 feet thick right? Or something like that he hoped. Other wise how would the buffer machine even stay there? Or maybe it was just a giant block of ice?

message 105: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie listened to the end of her song, her head jerking up as she heard him whistle, then she shook her had at herself for forgetting he was there, and waved up to him, not seeing the phone in his hand. "One more, then I'm done," she called, smiling as a faster song started in and then she was off again, doing her thing, it was the easiest thing in the world to her, though she was getting slightly winded. Not even long programs were this long. When the song ended, she turned to him and bowed, moving toward the edge of the rink. "You can hit the lights, unless you want to put on a show," she teased him, unlacing her skates and carefully sliding her feet out, a few curls having slipped from her bun to fall beside her face.

somebody | 332 comments "Oh trust me, I don't be doing that..." He grinned. Before his face dropped as he noticed the keys on the middle of the place. Not sure if she should suspect her from taking them. But he sure as hell wasn't going to just let her do that for him as he got to the edge. "Well, I might just go and slip on there real quick" He chuckled a bit nervous before sighing in defeat as his regular shoes hit the ground, knowing that on skates he couldn't bend down then back up. So as a result he was crambling a bit on the ice, being the worst show off ever as he managed to get a couple feet before he fell.

message 107: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "Wait, Luke!" Kenzie exclaimed, having no clue what the boy though he could possibly be doing. He was going to hurt himself. She moved onto the ice in just her tights, not slipping at all as she offered a hand down to help him up. "Are you okay? What are you doing?" she asked, hair falling into her face. She kept her feet moving so she didn't just freeze to the ice, which had happened to her before.

message 108: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments He had chuckled nervously. "The keys-Wants to be manly" Was all he could mumble out as his face lit up like the fourth of July, or rather, just flashed up bright red as he sat there, his hands slowly starting to freeze as he just stayed there on the ground. Feeling like an idiot before reaching out and grabbing the keys as he sighed out, the condensing air allowing fog to come out. He felt like a total idiot and probably looked like one too at the moment as he bit his lip. He couldn't explain the stupid actions he took. They were terrible. So he stuck to avoiding eye contact until he noticed the computer screen. "You've got a email" And he knew it wasn't one of those "WELCOME TO.." Emails, seeing as she had already gotten that.

message 109: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie laughed softly at him and his embarrassment, trying to help him up, even though she knew he wouldn't take it. "You are manly, for coming out here even thought you knew it would end in failure. You're my new hero," she told him, trying to cheer him up as the started off the ice. As he mentioned the email, tension wound it's was up Kenzie's back. She started toward the edge of the ice, to see what it was, but in a rare feat, she slipped on the ice, coming down hard on her right hip and elbow, luckily keeping her head from hitting the ice, just kind of stuck there for a moment, stunned. Could she even bare to open up the email?

message 110: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments He came over to her, moved pressing himself in a penguin slide to actually get across the floor, smooth Luke his subconscious rang out to him as he got over to her. "Are you alright?" He asked her, biting his lip as he checked with his eyes to see if she was okay, Sure that's what you're going It added before he decided she was fine. In more ways than one. "Careful" He chuckled, never thinking he'd actually would have to say that to her. She fell-and part of him liked that idea, that falling was completely natural while on ice. Then again she was probably nervous about the email.

message 111: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "Yeah, I'm okay, I just... got distracted," her head obviously wasn't on her shoulders as she slowly got up, holding her bruising elbow in tight to her stomach, her other hand out to steady her as she stepped off the ice, worry creasing between her brows as she moved toward the computer. She bit her lip. "It's her." That was all she could say. She felt as though if she touched the computer, the magic would evaporate, and there would be nothing there.

message 112: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments He sighed, his hands going onto her shoulders. Half for support, the other half to keep him up a bit as he stared at the screen. Hoping for the best of situations to pop up as he bit his lip. "It worked" He breathed. "At least you have that? And she responded..." He doubted it'd be bad news, how could it? He was eager to see what she had down- But a part of him feared her mother was really apart of the mess. He couldn't let himself think that though, it'd be wrong. Positive thoughts, positive thoughts. That's what he needed.

message 113: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie had a bad feeling in her gut though. The response was too quick. She slowly pulled the computer toward her, hands shaking as she moved to click on the email, opening it. Though it only took her reading the first line to know it wasn't her mother at all, it was her father again. She could practically feel his disappointment in every word. It was the usual things, what a failure she was, not to contact the family again, since she was no longer part of it. With the addition of the fact that she shouldn't be in the least bit upset about this because it was her fault. She snapped the computer shut, pushing it away, wishing she could run home and curl up in her bed and just cry. She couldn't handle this, she never had been able too, especially not here in front of someone she considered her friend, who had tried to help her so much.

message 114: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments Luke sighed, being able to tell how everything was wrong. He quickly slid the computer over to himself as he opened it. Logging in quickly before sending a not so nice email back to the man-Course he made sure the man knew exactly who He was. Mentioning what a disappointment he was in every sense of human nature. He remarked what an amazing person the girl sitting next to him broken was. And added onto the fact that he'll be watching her on TV later on this year and if he had any sort of dignity at all, he'd actually try and reach out to that amazing person. He wrote every single thing resembling Her, with a capital H or S for she. Adding on at the bottom a "*When using a capital letter on a pronoun, this is indicating a superior power. One who is like god. Or owns a ruling right over the reader". Which Luke sent in the end with a smiley face included. He was pissed off. Oh yes very pissed off. And sent that.

message 115: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie somehow found her feet, moving toward the door. She tried to push the door open, forgetting entirely the fact that he had locked it when they had come in. Tears slowly fell from her cheeks. This was a vast part of the reason that she hadn't tried to contact them again. This rejection hurt her. It was like an injury all it's own. She tried to put all her weight against the door, wishing it would just open, and let her out. The cold would be better than this. She felt trapped, shut in, like the whole building was just coming down around her. Like the whole world miight even be.

message 116: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments Luke sighed, getting up as he ran to her. He hated seeing her like this. It wasn't right. He knew it wasn't. He got to her side grabbing ahold of her gently and turning her toward him. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. It's my fault, alright? All mine, I shouldn't have forced you to do that, and now you're breaking down and it's terrible. Everything he said is a lie- alright?" He promised her, trying to stare her in the eyes as he whipped away at her tears, hating their Meer existence. "You're so much better than what he says you are, you're strong, and you love your family. You're not a disappointment. Your a prodigy. A miracle to be around. You're perfect and don't let him make you think any different" He whispered to her sternly.

message 117: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie nearly jumped out of her skin as she felt his hand on her, though when she turned to face him, she kept her eyes downcast, not wanting him to see her tears. "It's not your fault, I didn't have to do it," she whispered softly. She couldn't even feel the way her body was shaking. "I'll be okay." She looked up as he complimented her over and over again. "You really think so?" she asked, hardly believing him, a sad laugh passing her lips. "I would say you were my best friend, but you're my only real friend, so it wouldn't really be a compliment."

message 118: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments "I'd be honored to be your best friend" He hugged her tightly in his arms as he held her close to him. "Because everything I told you I meant entirely, and I can't wait to watch you in the Olympics, alright? I'll cheer you on with the biggest sign ever and scream your name at the top of my lungs the whole time. And you know what. I'm gonna watch you win gold" he promised her. Offering her a light smile as he starred at her. And on a side line quest he was also going to be making sure she got the family that mattered back, just a bit more without her knowledge until he could confirm on this stuff. He'd hate to have to let her down again.

message 119: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie moved her arms around him to hug him tightly, for a long moment, then pulling away. "Thank you," she murmured, wiping her eyes lightly. "You don't understand how much this means to me. Heck, I've never had anyone to tell half of what I've told you tonight. I can still get a face...book? To meet other people? Other skaters? Can we still do that?" she asked, grasping for straws to get her mind off everything. She slipped her hand into his, wanting at least slight comfort, some form of contact to show that she wasn't alone.

message 120: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments He nodded his head. "We can do all of that, and I'll make sure you get to experience that. Alright? You don't have to always be alone. And I'm going to prove this to you" He smiled to her lightly and squeezing her hand in his as his eyes skimmed over her, a small grin on his face as he stared at her. "I'll be your first Facebook friend, for follower in everything, and I'll make sure I guide you right and away from selfish assholes" He promised her quietly. And he intended to keep that promise the best he could no matter what was to happen.

message 121: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie smiled softly at him. She swallowed back the pain. "It's cold over here," she murmured softly, keeping a hold on her hand as she started back toward her bag, pulling her coat around her shoulders. At his promise, she smiled softly. "Well, I have to have one before I can have any friends, but we should find somewhere to crash for the night, it's late. There used to be cots in the med room," she offered up, thinking it would be their best bet. She was mentally and physically exhausted.

message 122: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments Luke nodded his head. Smiling lightly. "You know what helps to stay warm" Other than a heater. "Cuddling" He winked, joking about this really and hoping she got that-yes he'd love to but the last thing he needed is to place pressure on her. He knew how easily that balance can be unsettled around some people and didn't want to take the chance that she was one, plus she's never really hanged out around friends much. "I'll go turn the heat up in here?" He offered her with a small smile.

message 123: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie laughed at his cuddling comment. "As tempting as that sounds, I can't sit still, I would probably end up hitting you in the face or something," she told him, totally oblivious to the romantic feeling that was kindling between them. She thought this is what friendships felt like. "Don't turn up the heat, we can just hang under the ice in the med room, it's always warm in there." She led him around to the far side of the ice, into a descending tunnel, her bag slung over her shoulder.

message 124: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments Luke laughed shaking his head. "Alright, so I'll just stay a safe like...3 feet away from you? If you think that's far enough" He chuckled lightly. "But if it's any consultation, I don't exactly reject the idea of staying so close to you-just means I'll have to hold you tighter" He winked to her with a small grin, nudging at her side. Before he walked over to the med room. His feet hitting against the floor in an echo, the sound filling the other wise silent room. A faint buzz, however could be heard if listening to carefully.

message 125: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "You don't need to stay that far away," Kenzie told him, eyebrows knitting together a little. She really didn't want him constantly that far away. At his next statement, she shook her head, giggling softly. She pushed open the med room, warmth spilling out as she flicked the lights on. It was rather small, normally severe injuries were taken straight to the hospital, this was just for bumps and bruises sustained on the ice. There were two cots, a desk, two chairs, and a freezer for ice. She looked over at him. "I guess this is home for tonight," she said, looking around, finding a small closet with two or three blankets inside, there was only one on each cot, but the room was warm.

message 126: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) ((So, after tomorrow, I will be on vacation for a week and will have very limited access to Wifi, so I won't be able to get on much. Where I'm staying, wifi is like $20+))

message 127: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments ((Where you going?))

"I'm pretty sure I'm use to cuddling up to my pillow at night, can I use you instead?" He wiggled his eyebrows giving her a light wink before he laughed at his own comment. Seeing as there wasn't a pillow in sight, but he'd manage without it. He was manly enough to do so. Well he figured he was anyways. It'd only be one night, he knew the resort would be one of the first to be cleared out and stuff. So it couldn't be too bad. "It's like camping indoors" He admitted, thinking out loud.

message 128: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) ((Orlando Florida))

"No, I will not be you pillow, but you can be mine," she offered, throwing a grin over her shoulder, thinking this is the type of banter friends exchanged daily. She was giggling with him, spreading an extra blanket over her bed, then plopping down on it, sitting cross legged. "Do you like movies?" Kenzie asked him curiously, smiling slightly.

message 129: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments ((So close yet so far from me, I'm going there this weekend XD))

"Alright, so I'm you're pillow, I can live with that" he chuckled lightly, sticking a hand in his pocket as he stared at her, fiddling with the keys silently. "And yes I like movies, I'm human, remember?" He chuckled jokingly as he gave her a light grin on his face, laugh lines present though they managed to work well on him. He played it off as if they were the best thing in the world. He liked where he was at the moment, and he kind of didn't want the storm to end f it meant saying goodbye.

message 130: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) ((I'll arrive saturday, probably around noon))

Kenzie smiled, patting the bed beside her. "If I kick you or something, it isn't my fault," she told him, making sure he was well aware of that. "I was wondering if we both took a day off and went to the movies, I've never actually been to a movie theater, just on netflix and such. I've wanted to go for awhile, but never could find my way down there." She told him, blushing, cringing slightly at the admittance.

message 131: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments ((Cool :33 we're probably actually going out there on Sunday))

"Well then I'll take you" Luke insisted. "It's not so scary as if it is, you can hold me hand" he chuckled. Alright so maybe he was taking advantage of this situation. Using what he could in this to benefit the fact that She didn't have any other friends. But it was nice, and she deserved someone who wouldn't go around using her without a care. Because he cared for her. "Any idea what movie?"

message 132: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "I don't think it'd be scary, though I actually love scary movies when I watch them at home," she shrugged, smiling at him, thinking it would be fun. "I have no clue what movies are even out right now, how sad is that?" she asked with a grin, shaking her head. "I was always told I never had a childhood, only now am I starting to understand what they meant in saying that."

message 133: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments He shrugged. "Meh, it's alright. Since we're stuck here we can just watch movie trailers till you find the one you want to see the most" he offered with a light grin. Well- he might not he willing to see a chick flick, but off she begged he figured he'd give in. It too him a while to figure out her only actual childhood was probably covered in ice, skated on and buffered over almost like it wasn't even there. And yet. If you could scratch at it long enough you'd be able to get to it, looked hard enough get the blurriest vision of it. That's what it was. Her life needed a 10 ton polar bear to break the ice.

message 134: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "I... I left my laptop up by the ice," Kenzie admitted, embarrassed that she hadn't thought to bring it, but she really didn't even want to touch the thing. She didn't know if she wants to touch it even now. She wanted so badly to just take his hand again, to feel that connection to him for just a little while. She wasn't used to having someone around, and now she didn't want to go back to being all on her own. Her babies made it better, but she still got lonely.

message 135: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments ((So quick question of where you'll be going on Sunday? XD Since you're arriving on Saturday))

He nodded his head waving it off easily. "No problem, I can get it if you'd like?" His hands felt a little colder at the moment, kind of empty. Though it's not like that wouldn't exactly look funny. Him just grabbing her hand and holding it tight- even if that's what he had wanted the most at the moment. Her touch. "You don't get out much do you...?" He sighed, shaking his head. "Well....I can fix that-If you'd let me" He smiled lightly to her.

message 136: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) ((We'll probably just be at the hotel, my grandpa is supposed to be coming over and he's handicapped.))

"Sure," she said in a soft voice, thinking she might as well get over, she had been fine before, she would be fine with this. She just missed her family. "I don't get out much, but I'll make you a deal. You give me the next few months to get to and through the Olympics, then I'll cut down on training and we can hang out as much as you like," she offered, thinking she needed to focus on Sochi for now, but once it was over...

message 137: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments ((Ah, makes sense. My dad usually rushes us to do something))

"Alright, and I'll be with you every step of the way. did you know that Free Style Skiing is coming into the Olympics for the first time this year" He started with, choosing to give her a little "fun fact". He didn't see what was the harm in that, sides, it'd be useless if he never actually told anyone that. A fact that was simply useless in his head. Well, jeopardy was always an option in the future. He loved the idea of he finally claming down, but he had to endure close to 2 ish 3 more months of that.

message 138: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) ((Family first, plus it's a "holiday" weekend))

"I did actually, though the team ice skating event is the new thing I have my sights set on," she teased him softly, wondering if he was stalling, not wanting to go get the computer, or if he was just preoccupied now that they were talking about the Olympics, because she certainly was. Her coach had been showing her tap and discussing each and every competitor she might have and what their strengths and weaknesses are. It was good to be prepared, but it made her nervous.

message 139: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments ((Ah, makes sense))

"So I'm guessing you want to join?" He asked, well no duh she wanted to. "Never mind, don't answer that" He chuckled, shaking his head as he racked his fingers through his short, yet thick, hair. "Stupid question. You excited about going to Russia though? Plenty of sight seeing can go down" He remarked lightly with a small smile on his face. He would be-Well he'll find a way to go if she did. So in which case, he's excited about it. Though he wasn't so sure how much he wanted to go up and leave for something that seemed to last forever. Part of him wished it was just in Canada like last time-Canadians were nice. Russians...Well, not exactly known for being nice.

message 140: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "I want to be chosen, they choose the best at what they do to compete for the team, and I'm praying I'm good enough to at least do something on the team," she answered, hope filling her eyes, a smile spreading across her fair cheeks. It was like someone had lit a fire behind her eyes. "I would love to go sightseeing though, if they'll even let me, they're really strict about things like that, even just for the international competitions."

message 141: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments "Makes sense" He nodded. "Though I'm sure you'll make the team" He insisted, despite the fact that he hadn't even seen her best. But he would, he knew he would, eventually. There was just something about her that screamed talent to everybody. Even if it could be seen. It was there. She looked beautiful though when she talked about skating-like it was her life; mostly because to her it was. That part alone was a bit sad, but it could have been worse. She had a passion, one she was amazing at. "So if you win gold, do you get to keep it?" He asked her, he thought they did though she made it sound like someone else took it-it if she won she wouldn't get it.

message 142: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie smiled, reaching out to take his hand and pull his down to sit beside her. She was stronger than she looked, all she was was muscle. "Of course, athletes get to keep the medals they get, more often than not they put them in cases to show off or something, but I would want mine close to me, to show how much I've done, and how much I can still do. She could win up to three golds by herself with this new team event.

message 143: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments "So I'm guessing Michael Phelps keeps all of his 100 something in cases" He teased, definitely not a hundred but that guy was pretty freaking good. He grasped her hand in his, feeling the warmth return to it. He wished he had had the courage to do what she did, he would have easily done it if he knew she wanted the same. And yet the idea of being rejected or hurting her. Well he just couldn't handle that idea. Which made him realize being so close to her would probably hurt her. He'd take her out of her comfort zone and shove her somewhere else. Possibly ruin her chances-He figured she'd stay on the ice more than with him but regardless it kept him a bit worried at the moment.

message 144: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "Probably, though I wouldn't be able to tell you, I haven't met the guy," Kenzie teased, not letting his hand go. She smiled at him, turning slightly. It would take me years to get as many as he has though there are more events in swimming than in skating. "You know, normally they give me two free tickets for competitions, they might not do it for the Olympics, but for the qualifier, would you want to come, Coach says they're offering up two?"

message 145: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments "Well. In that case I would love to" He admitted as a grin crossed his face. Him staring at her almost mindlessly. "Of course-If you didn't exactly mind that" He chuckled looking down a bit as he realized he may have over stepped a light bit. He'd love to go and watch her, hell, he'd start on making a banner now. Get some people to hold it up with him as he cheered for her, throw a hundred roses at her feet. He'd be willing to do that for her. He knew he would. Because she deserved it, she had so much deprived and such hatred shoved into her face that she deserved someone to love her as much as she loved skating. Which was to say, a lot.

message 146: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) Kenzie grinned as he said he would love to, shaking her head at him, she didn't mind at all. She let go of his head to wrap her arms around him for a moment, smiling widely. "I want you there, a friendly face in the crowd, someone waiting for me outside the locker room other than coaches. It will be great," she told him, smiling widely, taking his hand again. "You should tell me more about you, what's your favorite color?"

message 147: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments "Gold, if you count that as a color" He chuckled lightly with a small shake of his head. "If not it's read" He informed her with a grin on his face as he shook his head lightly, interlacing their fingers as his thumb rubbed against the back of her hand lightly. He couldn't help it but love being so close to her. Even if they hardly knew each other. "What about you?" He questioned lightly as he raised a curious eyebrow to the pretty girl standing before him.

message 148: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "I like gold too, though my favorite color is actually blue, there used to be a joke with my coaches, that some people brought fire to the ice, but some people just became one with it, and I was one of those people," she told him, liking the feeling off his thumb and their fingers laced together. "So, what is your favorite sport, and if you could be the best in the world at one thing, what would it be?" she asked him, thinking now she could figure him out a little more, see what he loved, and what he wanted to be.

message 149: by somebody, Stuck with Silver (new)

somebody | 332 comments That question sent him into a light trail of thought. Him having to think hard on that one. And after a couple minutes he replied with a single 5 letter word. "Chess" Now he wasn't good at the game by any means, but if he was the best in the world-well he might as well be a conman on the side. He could predict people-Maybe a cop? Or one of those guys off of criminal minds? He could easily do that. Well. With any luck he could. He'd be amazing at war and all that stuff. Even if some said it wasn't a sport it'd be handy.

message 150: by Megan (new)

Megan (nightrunner) "Chess?" Kenzie asked with a giggle, thinking he would say something better than that. She didn't understand chess at all, she had never had time to even learn how the pieces moved or what you even had to do to win a game. "You didn't answer what your favorite sport is though, unless that would be chess too?" she asked, one eyebrow raised.
