Celia Reynolds is the youngest in a set of triplets and the one with the least valuable power. Anne can see the future, and Jane can see the present, but all Celia can see is the past. And the past seems so insignificant -- until Celia meets Lo.

When a handsome boy named Jude falls off a pier and into the ocean, Celia and Lo work together to rescue him from the waves. The two form a friendship, but soon they find themselves competing for Jude's affection. Lo wants more than that, though. According to the ocean girls, there's only one way for Lo to earn back her humanity. She must persuade a mortal to love her . . . and steal his soul.

Its okay. I don't know quite what is going on to be honest which is saddening me because this is one of my favourite series.

29% - (view spoiler)[Ahhhhh! Its Nadia!! I get it now. Wow, what a way to tie it all in! And Celia's last name is Reynolds so how is she related to Silas etc.?? Her name is familiar. Was she mentioned in Sisters Red or Sweetly??

Oh, and just to clarify: Nadia was the twin right? Not the older sister?? She died I thought. Sorry, its been awhile since I read it. That's exciting though. So the Fenris took her as leverage and what dumped her in the ocean?? Why?? How does becoming a "mermaid" or whatever they are work?? Why do their feet get cut when they leave?? Will Nadia remember anything now that she is back in the ocean as Lo?? This is gripping though I have to say that I don't if I am quite enjoying it. Its a little too confusing and Jackson's lost that magical quality in her writing that I normally love.

63% - (view spoiler)[I still don't know how I feel about this. I like the emotional struggle with Lo and Naida but the story its self is very interesting. I am kind of bored which is upsetting me because I loved the other books so much. I wish more was happening about the power of the sisters. I don't really ship Celia and Jude yet. They seemed a little too forced together if that makes sense. The almost drowning seems staged just so Celia and him could get forced together. How will Lo/Naida effect that I wonder?? 82% - (view spoiler)[Okay, I get that they are both a little upset about each other lying - though I think that Celia totally overreacted, Jude has more of a reason to be upset especially since you haven't told him about your abilities - but what I don't get is that Jude didn't even care or blink an eyelid over the fact that Lo is Naida and that she lives underwater. That is pretty strange, strange enough that you should freak out a bit over it and no believe Celia for a bit at least. (hide spoiler)]

100% - Disappointing. I didn't really like that much at all. So much didn't work for me. The characters weren't that great. The writing was gorgeously poetic though. The ending was also disappointing. What a huge let down! Still eager to read though. :)

I like the mystery surrounding Lo/Naida, and I'm interested to see what happens to Jude and the three girls with powers. It's much better than some of the other rubbish I've read this week!

I am glad you are liking it! I thought the best part was the Lo/Naida mystery too and I agree that is a lot better than some of the rubbish I have read recently. :)

Oh, well they kind of can but I think you would have enjoyed this soooooooooooo much more if you knew the vital importance of her being Naida from Sweetly but it doesn't really matter. If you go back and read it you can see the connections there. :)

I don't know what I thought of the ending. It kind of didn't work for me - the epilogue at least. :/

(view spoiler)[ I liked that Lo had become a person in her own right, and hadn't become a monster. I also liked how she was trying to help other water girls not turn into monsters either. I think it was difficult to end this so that it worked out for all parties though, it was just the way the author had written it. she didn't give herself many options. (hide spoiler)]

I liked that Lo tried to help the girls too instead of killing herself. The ending wasn't too bad though, I am just being nit-picky.
