I found the protag to be too much of a people pleaser. Her character didn't really develop much - she didn't 'grow' as the pages turned, but seemed to stay as naive as she was on the first page.
Yes, Mia, I too think the wrap-up was too contrived. I was ready to buy into the husband having another family, which he did. But I was kinda glad to find he wasn't the who in whodunnit.
I found that thing about Lisa having had that fling in the bathroom with a guy kinda' silly - I think every second person you meet has had some kinda 'fling' in the course of their marriage.
I read this by way of an audio; the narrator was English, of course, and had that kinda accent that made all the oooo's have an uhhh sound ... like buk, instead of book ... pumped came out as poomped. At first it annoyed me, but it grew on me and I found myself talking like that - ha ha!
Mia ... did you like SK's IT much? That's one of the few books of his that I don't like. Didn't like the movie either.

As for It, I did enjoy it, but didn't LOVE it. Never saw the movie. I was intrigued by the slow reveal of the mystery of the town and what "It" was, but was a little disappointed by the ending [SPOILER ALERT]: It's a space spider? What? :-)

Tommyknockers - a book that came out around the same time ... well, I bought it at the same time as IT ... that was a really good book. And it's a good movie too.
