combining author's works with and without middle name

Thomas Szasz and Thomas Stephen Szasz are the same author. What is the proper way to combine them? (Note: Books listed do not seem to be segregated by name given in each title, but by whim.)Thank you!

Which profile has more information, data, maybe an author photo? Always keep the profile that has all the info, otherwise it will get lost in the merge. Then once you have that one profile, either edit the name or leave it as is - check Worldcat to see what the author name is, or see how it appears on book covers.

If neither profile has any info, skip that first step.
