Shereen Vedam | 33 comments I need a name for a wizard's familiar, and the familiar is a lynx.

Suggestions for names can be from 3 categories:

1) The lynx is from Spain, so I am leaning toward a name that has a distinct Spanish flavor.

2) The wizard is from England, so I'm open to some British pet name suggestions, too.

3) Also, since this book is a fairytale-inspired Regency romance, if you have suggestions that sound suitable for a fairytale character, I'm all ears. :)

If I pick a name from a suggestion offered here, I'll mention that in the acknowledgement section of this book and use your Goodread's name and this group's name.

The book is called A Perfect Curse, to be published by ImaJinn Books, and is a Snow White and 7 dwarfs inspired romance. It will be released in early 2015.

Oh, and I'm under a time deadline to submit the book by end of this weekend, so need any and all suggestions within the next 3 days. :(

Whether or not I choose your offering, thank you to anyone who offers suggestions.

Shereen Vedam | 33 comments Ohh Aidia sounds good...that site says it's another form of Adela which means "noble." I like that.

I wonder it there is a male variation for it. Will go look.

Shereen Vedam | 33 comments Thanks Heather.

I still haven't picked a suitable name for him. Had to send the book in on Sunday (to meet my deadline), but told my editor that I will likely have a few minor revisions in March, since I'm waiting to get feedback from a beta reader who is checking on a few Spanish phrases I have in there.

My reader is taking the book with her to read/proof/and check on my Spanish (by which I mean I have none :) on her holiday to Peru for a month. In my notes to her, I'm asking for her suggestions for a name for that lynx, too.

When I do the reader's suggested revisions, I should be able to stealthily slip in his name! :)

Hopefully by then I will have figured out what his real name is (he's been reticent about revealing himself, to me or anyone else inside that book...all I know so far is that he has a brave soul).

Well, that's my current "name that lynx" plan anyway.
