Melody Mongeon i love my nook i really do i have authors i keep on nook that i probably would not have bought at the store. the problem is that i have some authors/series i want the print copy of and many places have cut down on the variety of authors in their book section and even the book store seems to carry fewer copies of the less popular authors than they use to. is it just me or has any one else noticed this? my thought is it has to be because of the decrease of print sales with popularity of e-readers. i use to love to go to the book store/section and just browse for the ones i like and the something different that caught my eye. now i can only do that on line unless i like only the twenty authors that are on top at the moment. is this the reader's version of video killing the radio star?

Raychell Pettijohn I use to love going into book stores and finding new authors, but as I've gotten older, free time growing harder to find. Not to mention just storing all those books (I don't like giving up my books, if I like it, I want to go back to it again and again). My e-reader is a blessing because I can keep thousands of books but not worry about storing them. I can look for books online, read sections of them, all when I have the time (which let's face it isn't often during business hours). I do think that the increase in readers/purchasers like me is why brick and mortar stores no longer carry as many books, or less copies. Heck, if the local store was open at 11pm then I might be there, but as it is.. It's sad really, but I fear it's only going to get worse.
