Our group read for February is the webcomic Hemlock, which can be read online here. It's set in 19th century Scandinavia and features the (rather unusual) day to day life of a reclusive witch named Yumi.

You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.

I really like the way the story has unfolded. Vol 1 establishes Lumi, Tristan, and the general setting. Vol 2 moves into more detail about the "society" of the other witches and some clues about Lumi's past. And so on. It all builds naturally and there's lots of little hints and clues to keep interest high along the way.

The art has a distinct style that's put to good use. The facial expressions and body language are excellent.

Mackenzie Stanley (crigger5) | 9 comments Yes, I loved both the artwork and the characters. It's now my dream to live in my own Richmond. The story is very interesting and moves quickly. I'm excited to see where these characters end up. She's a talented artist. I might look into her other work.

Richmond is such a delightfully unique house. The series is filled with great little touches of imagination and whimsy. I haven't read any other her other work yet, but hope to at some point.
