I wish someday I could write a book review for an author like Harlan Ellison and he'd end up calling me on the phone and inviting me to his next book signing because he loved the review so much... Oh, wait, THAT IS TOTALLY WHAT REALLY HAPPENED ON 14 JANUARY!

(Emasculating rumors that I squeed like a 10 year old schoolgirl will neither be confirmed nor denied, as such a reaction is just too humiliating.)

Thanks, Kate. You have no idea how cool it was! Harlan Ellison and Ray Bradbury are my two all-time-favorite writers. They are the writers I look up to the most. I met Ray Bradbury in 2007. That was wonderful, but it was nothing more than a handshake. To have Harlan call me on the phone and invite me to meet him was really incredible.
